  1. That's a classic from back in the day and one that came to mind for me
  2. Agree with this except for me change Stabler, Bradshaw, Tatum/Atkinson, Staubach to... Kelly, Elway, Marino, Young, Favre
  3. Good story man, thanks for sharing Tasker was on the John Murphy show this afternoon and shared one of his favorite Joe Kelly stories and it was at the last Wrestling event at the Aud and there was a work in play where "The Nasty Boys" were taunting Jim and calling him a loser and saying Buffalo was a city of losers and Jim's Dad didn't realize it was all a work and Jim was in on it and he started yelling back at them and he wanted to climb in the ring himself and some of Jim's brothers had to hold him back. I got some chuckles from the story. That's the beautiful thing about life all the fun memories we make as we go along live on forever RIP Joe Kelly
  4. No argument there but this was much more a natural part of life than the real tragedy's the family has dealt with over the years, his father was up there and it was his time to go. Sad nonetheless
  5. Wonder if Jim's father passed away, I know he hasn't been doing too well
  6. Don't let it stress you out my man. I had gotten rid of my seasons for awhile due to financial circumstances etc. and was able to finally jump back on ship again this season. It feels good to have them again but I am also finding out alot of friends and relatives that have had seasons for awhile got rid of them this year so that is kind of bumming me out. There will always be future seasons down the road when you can get them again. I actually really enjoyed watching the games from home for awhile so don't look at it as a negative thing.
  7. I can vouch for that from many nights spent at the Sundowner...The Quebec girls were always my favorite
  8. Even though he is a millionaire living his dream career yada yada I DO feel bad for him because that is the type of guy who I would have loved to see some team success in his NFL career. He has been nothing but the consumate professional his entire time here when this organization has been a complete dumpster fire. He could've demanded a trade so many times and he has never bad mouthed this organization when there were so many opportunites where I would've understood it. Kyle doesn't play the game just for the money and that is rare nowadays. He obviously has a passion for football and although I was never some hot shot pro football player I did play the game throughout my entire childhood. When you love the game losing takes a toll on you. I know there are far more tragic things going on in our world than this but yes I can say to a degree I do feel bad for Kyle that he had to spend his NFL career here during this era. He deserved so much better
  9. Sounds like how I always envisioned Charlie Sheen playing the role of Charlie Harper on two and a half men
  10. Ugh it sucks, it really gets me depressed sometimes when I think about the way the world has changed in so many ways and the realization that certain things will never be the same again.
  11. Unfortunately I think the golden age of alot of things are over
  12. I hate to say it but I had to take the Pats. I don't think there's any team as talented as them from top to bottom in the league right now. Alot can happen so it's not a gurantee but as much as it pains me to say this they are probably my favorite to win the SB going into this season *submits post, slowly steps away from computer, starts praying for a Tom Brady acl injury*
  13. Jim Brown can absolutely be in the discussion
  14. Yep. The media loved to rag on him during his baseball stint but when you actually look at what he was able to do it was very impressive. They even made a 30 for 30 on his baseball run which is a very good watch if you haven't seen it yet.
  15. Bo Jackson Michael Jordan(absolutely dominated the game of basketball, although ridculed for it by media what he did when he went to Minor League Baseball was actually pretty impressive if you know what your talking about, pretty good stick on the golf course, and he was also known to run a blackjack table or two )
  16. Mid-30's....$1.99 12 packs would be insane although the major difference between my alcohol spending now v.s. a decade ago is the significantly lesser amount of time I spend in bars these days haha!
  17. Not nearly as much as I once did in my 20's...that's for damn sure
  18. Generally speaking there are a few Packer fans in WNY but not a huge population of them but Bills fans seem to really respect the Pack and root for them on the side a lot(especially during the playoffs since we're never in them) it seems Growing up my best friend's Dad was a huge Packer's fan so we would get invited over there for the playoff games during their mid-90's run and I have to admit I did get swept up into Packer Mania for a bit there myself. He had a huge Super Bowl party when the Packers played the Patriots and I was really rooting hard for the Packers to win it. That was the closest I've ever felt to seeing "my" team win a Super Bowl. Good times
  19. I agree they don't make tv programs like they did in the 90's but times are so different as well. I much prefer watching reruns of the shows I grew up watching than most of the stuff on nowadays. I do watch alot of sports and documentaries though
  20. Great documentary, the first three installments were the best! The last part starts to get a little boring but all in all excellent documentary
  21. I had an interest in going but the general consensus from everybody I tried to get tickets with me has been "yeah it'd be cool to see them but I don't feel like spending that kinda money on it" "I saw them 20 years ago already" "Well it'll probably just rain that day" So I guess I'm not real surprised ticket sales are struggling. I think sadly alot of WNYer's are throwing in the towel on making any summer plans because the weather has really been that bad this summer.
  22. Yeah they def have to prove it on the field and for an entire season no doubt, but I guess my point was that those are two premier players at their position in this league and we haven't gotten a chance to see them play up to their true potential at the same time(ok I will throw McCoy in here as well). If all 3 of those guys can have career years and Tyrod can at least play at a decent level then maybe we are talking about a 9-7, 10-6 team after all. This team does have talent but under Rex he was just never able to get these guys at their full potential.
