  1. He should legally change his name to Tom Brady. Then the officials would like him. Either that or Jack. If they were still making westerns, he could try that.
  2. Starting a thread for those unable to post in Italian Bills' positivity thread? How very decent of you.
  3. Okay, so you're confessing to being a paranoid Republican. That is a strange fetish. Are you related to Harty? Now you are appealing to midget nerds. Drinking is a Buffalo tradition. Groupies are a problem. I see now that you are just working for the Hollywood actress. That is very bad behavior. They really didn't like you having a Jets fan in the office. You should have told them he was from Vermont and see if it made a difference. I know they say that confession is good for the soul, but sometimes its too much.
  4. A major part of what contributed to the drought years was the abysmal lack of talent at the qb position. I would absolutely make a play for Ben Johnson, the Lions' OC.
  5. I still hope it works out, but nothing yesterday confirmed a team that had pondered the failures of the previous years and become quietly serious assassins. How much more excitement would there be for this team if Ben Johnson were the head coach right now?
  6. You might want to check 4merper4mer's posts and see if it sounds like the same fella. I seem to recall someone calling him by that old name, but I could be wrong on that.
  7. I suspect some folks who perpetually worry and tend to gravitate towards the pessimistic side of expectations get a secret and perverse thrill when everyone else is sad.
  8. Yes, so for you, everything is provisional and awaits resolution when and if the Bills make the playoffs and succeed. Everyone knows that is the ultimate confirmation, but not everyone thinks you have to wait until January to suppose a possible narrative. I don't think practical reason equates to certitude. One could even take historical precedent of other teams eventually experiencing post-season success as a basis for prudential calculation. Regardless, Shaw's initial post was careful to acknowledge its limitations and the intuitive nature of its projection.
  9. @chongli started a thread on it Wednesday entitled Buffalo at New York Jets Week One officials . . . Flags will go flying! It's on page 2. I vote bad, btw, but not insurmountable.
  10. Pretty sure the fella is old. There's no excuse.
  11. I don't think that's true. The Chief's RT is a national joke after Thursday night. Maybe he'll get better, but he brought his act to KC. I assume their WRs will improve from abysmal. They are a different team with Kelce and Jones in the lineup. Still don't see them clearly ahead of the Bills. We've beat them in Arrowhead numerous times. Lets see if MLB is a weakness that sinks this D or if age catches up with the veterans. I think they are going to win with guile and aggression and the kind of accumulated intensity that Shaw is talking about. Those perpetual adolescents who have been bad-mouthing Josh Allen and complaining about his preparation are already deeply wrong, but I suspect the offense this year with a much improved IOL, rb room, and slot position is going to thrive. Dorsey is not a dim. We'll see how it plays out. I expect more creativity and innovation and much better RZ production. The Bengals are another story. It's a match-up league and they appear to be a problem. It's also a different year. Teams react to the past. Lot of pundits, for instance, crediting the Jets with improvements and at the same time, talking about the Jets-Bills games last year as if that were etched in stone to repeat, the Bills will automatically have the same problems and the Jets D will automatically be dominant, plus Aaron Rodgers. That's how they figure. At minimum, the Bills aren't going to come right out and say the same damn lines. It's a new episode and we have potentially scheme changes on D and 12 personnel on offense. That is true against all the teams, including Cincy. I believe your hesitancy is you don't trust McDermott. You think he's substandard or weak when it counts. If you're right, Shaw is wrong or we will have to be so superior that it can overcome mediocre coaching. I'm not sold on McDermott, but I haven't concluded he's a definite energy sink. I've still got an eye on Ben Johnson in Detroit if things go south this year, but I don't think that happens. I like that the Bills are being dismissed by the popular crowd. I want to see the shocked expression on their faces when the Buffalo tanks run right over them.
  12. They're going to make up for it Monday night.
  13. It's bitter troll syndrome.
  14. He's absolutely the worst. It's like having Filthy Beast referee a Bills' game.
  15. Bernard may crush it. I hope he does. I agreed with giving preference to a playmaker and Oline early in the draft. Then the question is was Dorian Williams the plan? Unlikely. Maybe they wanted someone who could back up Milano. At best, they might see him as someone who could grow into the position next year. McBeane had plenty of time to bring in a FA. There's a fella on this board, he likes to argue, who thinks it was just a colossal screw up. Beane should have planned ahead better. Personally, I believe they thought they had an answer already on the roster. Who was it? Dodson is "very concerning" and rightly so. Spector appears to have faded from consideration early. Either there is a scheme change and a lot of three safeties on the field, or Bernard was the guy. Obviously, there's nothing from his play on the field to justify that assessment. Either they slow played his development and saw enough signs during practices last season and whatever you can glean from an off-season to justify the gamble or they guessed wrong, thinking they had fellas with potential that have all fallen flat. All the arguing back-and-forth at this point is truly academic. We'll find out soon enough from the play on the field who was right.
  16. At the very least, they need to hit that knee with a hammer to make sure it is structurally sound.
  17. He left the board for over a year when Josh Allen was selected. He wanted wrong Josh. Same fella was sulking over trading a fourth round pick to move up for Kincaid. He routinely expresses skepticism whenever folks are optimistic. Troll or dim, I don't care, offers nothing.
  18. I was sorry we kept Poona after his dreadful preseason at the expense of Ankou, but then we ended up with Eli on the PS anyway. They've invested a lot on DL. I don't see how the floor isn't at least mediocre and I expect they will be pretty good. If Miller comes back with anything left in the tank, they should be formidable.
  19. Vincible ignorance, though in some cases through deficits in intellect and character, it is virtually invincible.
  20. Yes, so obvious it is merely an occasion for jokes, moralizing, and banter. I have to go now and imbibe my morning pint.
  21. OP saw that the Whitlock threads were infuriating folks. The instinctive troll is dull, but opportunistic. So he started his own thread to get in on the action. While possessing an intellect on par with that of plankton, he was able to spin the dim into a thread that is now on its twelfth page, which is a triumph in the eyes of troll kind. Some of his kin have even come over to have a roll in the muck and dumb. As trolls are basically dim and masochistic, needing constant flagellation in order to ascertain some minimal degree of existence, the entire operation is sure to be repeated. Why, airseven and Filthy Beast are simply livid with envy.
  22. I take it for trolling garbage. Other folks have made extensive commentary on the reasons for recent post-season failures. None of them plausibly indicate that Josh Allen is ill-prepared. Nor is accomplishment achieved by a mechanical following of the path that was effective for someone else. The factors that go into winning a SB are too diverse and the game changes regardless, so it's not enough to say Brady did this, why doesn't Josh? A significantly improved Oline will work wonders for Josh Allen. Not dealing with an injury that limits what he can do will make a large difference. Dorsey not being predictable in the RZ calls would be great. I expect all three to give Josh Allen and the Bills a good chance to win a SB, but luck will still play a role. The health of the team will be a factor. The notion that any one player, no matter how talented, can command a SB victory through effort alone is asinine.
  23. @GunnerBill
  24. Naturally, that's simply foul behavior. I made a joke upthread, but that is not to condone foolish or abusive behavior. Folks who think blotto hijinks is a culture or part of the fan experience are toxic and dim and probably something the new stadium will discourage by pricing out many who habitually indulge obnoxious actions in the name of entertainment.
  25. You know that phrase "iron sharpens iron"? Your iron is going to smash right through his little mush of whiny, dim complaint. He's still going to complain though. All that lucid effort on your part, his answer will be, "But why?"
