Joe B/Athletic on the Stillers Game
Dr. Who replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its often the predictable playcalling thing. You can see it coming and its exasperating. But then he pulls off a good sequence or tries a trick play. The fella is inconsistent. -
Well, I am on the Bandit, Cincy side of the argument. I think Allen is held back by a combination of lack of playmakers (which is not to dismiss Brown and Beasely, they raise the talent to competent) and also a conservative tendency that is the opposite of fearless. Given the strength of the defense and where Allen is at in the learning curve, that may make tactical sense, but I still believe they should unleash Allen and let him play.

He's already taken a big step and he's likely to develop much more. He's demonstrated he has the character and work ethic to improve. He is not a bottom tier NFL qb. You have always been a fella who can't see holistically. You're too obsessed with stats. The clutch gene and leadership don't show up in stats. Allen's numbers would be better with greater playmaking talent on the team, a big wr who could track the long ball, etc., but as is, Allen is a fit for what this team is trying to do. But you do you.

I agree, but like Josh Allen, I think he'll get there. -

Is Josh Allen A Good Quarterback??? (Good Film Breakdown)

Unfortunately, the "fans" who most need to see it won't watch. Anything that explains away their narrative will be dismissed as propaganda. -
Totalitarians don't like a republic. They also tend to be dim. Electoral college is fine so long as Dems win. When the left loses, they want to destroy institutions. They love the Supreme Court as a way to impose social change when they can't pass legislation in its favor. But when the balance of power begins to tilt, they suddenly want to pack the Court. Nine is now a negotiable number. When was the last time a Republican won the presidency without the corrupt media and the whining Left claiming the election was stolen from them? They couldn't argue that with Reagan, so they went with dumb, bellicose Cowboy. George H. W. Bush, a genuine war hero, was a whimp. W. didn't really win and Trump colluded with Russians and then tried to influence Ukraine (because he's so frightened of gaffe-ridden, corrupt, Mr. Magoo Biden). Obama actually used the internal revenue service to terrorize conservatives, deep state resources to sell guns to Mexico, to spy on Trump, the Ukraine actually tried to help Clinton win, Clinton actually destroyed evidence to obstruct justice, Biden actually engaged in a quid pro quo and boasted about it to a sycophant press that continues to propagandize with religious zealotry for any and all progressive ideologues. But pointing all this out doesn't phase the dim; you are an uninformed Nazi and they are enlightened and compassionate. Over three years of trying to impeach Trump for beating Madam President. Jessie Smollet fakes an assault and cries Maga hat bigots. The left does handstands and gleefully runs with a dubious story without an ounce of skepticism. Black Hebrews shoot up and kill innocent Jews and others in NJ. The left jumps to the conclusion that it was white nationalists inspired by Trump. They never apologize, never correct themselves, always smugly condescend. The hell with 'em.

Revisiting my Allen scouting report

Bad egg. -
He does have to get better. I don't really understand it, because it didn't seem to be a problem his rookie year. He obviously spent a lot of time in the offseason working on the short to mid-range passes and he is significantly improved. Don't see why he can't eventually figure out the long ball, but the fact that it's so often errant now is a puzzle (to me at least.)

Who is your favorite current Buffalo Bill and why?

I think this is right, though it's also somewhat of a silly exercise. One isn't really constrained to only like one Buffalo Bill, after all. -

28 - 17 Bills. We're gonna shock the world. -
You are right about the mediocrity of the Cowboys, but I think performing well before a national audience on perhaps the most watched game behind the Super Bowl is meaningful. The players knew the attention the game was going to get and they didn't freeze up under the bright lights. On the contrary, they played well and Allen showed composure and smart play throughout. I believe that is meaningful, though the next three weeks will discover how truly significant the growth in confidence is.

Just make sure you lose the last game of the season, but feel free to win any of the others.
