  1. Could be way off on this, but I have a feeling Gabe Davis makes an impact.
  2. If everyone is healthy, who is our best five?
  3. Giuseppe has a reputation to maintain.
  4. Yes, it's hard to argue with this. I do think a strong rushing game will help facilitate the appearance of good Josh. The other side of that equation is putting pressure on Mahomes who has shown himself susceptible to turnovers. No doubt KC will be hyped for this game, but if we play smart, they are beatable.
  5. AFC South is pretty dreadful, too, but yes, they are a bad bunch.
  6. Thanks for the heads up. I am paranoid about this sort of thing . . . such a nasty world, really.
  7. That fella makes you want to punch him in the face, but I take your point.
  8. Ever hear their local radio guy? His voice is arrogance in an especially hyperbolic mode. I'd be embarrassed for my team to be represented by someone with that level of hubris.
  9. I'm thinking it has something to do with Switzerland. Eh, it's baseball envy. That level of stats is for geeks like Hapless (though I appreciate those who can make sense of it.)
  10. I enjoyed a visit to Fort Henry many moons ago. Welcome to the board.
  11. Probably, though without the Vikings' kicker missing an easy 37 yarder, the Cards are 3 - 1. None of this matters greatly. I'm content to be among the top 4 or 5 most credible Super Bowl contenders at this point.
  12. Or they are just trolling gullible humans . . .
  13. It's a bizarre psychology that needs to build up his own fan base as hostile to get pumped. The importance of the game itself and our recent struggles against KC ought to be enough.
  14. Well, most folks were not complaining about those who simply criticize poor play. It was the posters who were discerning apocalyptic doom after two weeks that got the bulk of the wrath, and deservedly so. Good on you to show up. There's another crowd that won't because they find the enthusiasm of happy fans after a win just "too annoying." Anyway, this week, Edmunds is going to get all the flack.
  15. 6 - 2, Nice lead.
  16. Looks like they are expecting the unpronounceable Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (UPL) to play significant minutes, at least as a primary backup. He's been slow-cooking a while. Goalies take forever to mature to NHL level. The Michigan goalie, Erik Portillo, and Devon Levi, acquired in the Reinhart trade, are development fellas that might get there, but years away.
  17. Sure, but this is still the most plausible path to being competitive in the shortest viable time. You're not going to buy yourself out of the endemic futility via free agency. GMTM was not good at drafting outside the first round and compounded problems by spending draft capital and budget to circumvent patience. I don't see how you get good faster than two or three years down the line no matter what your plan is.
  18. Like both the all whites and the white and blue for away uniforms. Current uni is excellent, but Standing Buffalo helmet is simply the best.
  19. I seem to remember reading they can only have one throwback. I'd pick the blue if that's the way it is. Blue throwbacks and Standing Buffalo helmet. Sure wish they could pull that out for the Super Bowl.
  20. Next year's draft has three very good center prospects (Wright, Lambert and Savoie). It's a much stronger draft than this year. I don't think they're purposely tanking, per se, but if you look at the roster configuration and the strength (or lack thereof) of the goaltending, I think they are fine with finishing dead last and securing a 1C prospect to replace Eichel. It's going to be a development year for the youth. Hard to have patience after all these years of ineptitude, but it's a reasonable plan.
  21. More a bridge deal. Would have liked longer term.
  22. God bless, Wacka. I've had two similarly odd experiences regarding my best friend twenty years ago and my uncle. The world is strangely connected, "entangled" the quantum folks say. Not sure if you are a man of faith. I believe ultimately our sorrows are healed. I know it was a long task of love and a hard endurance for you. I'll be praying for you.
  23. Nice post. This is a plausible, rational take. Some folks only equate the latter with pointing out what's wrong, alas. P.S. Don't let the mean lady take Toto.
  24. Reaction is just a joke, btw. You oughta know.
