Looks like they are expecting the unpronounceable Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (UPL) to play significant minutes, at least as a primary backup. He's been slow-cooking a while. Goalies take forever to mature to NHL level. The Michigan goalie, Erik Portillo, and Devon Levi, acquired in the Reinhart trade, are development fellas that might get there, but years away.

Sure, but this is still the most plausible path to being competitive in the shortest viable time. You're not going to buy yourself out of the endemic futility via free agency. GMTM was not good at drafting outside the first round and compounded problems by spending draft capital and budget to circumvent patience. I don't see how you get good faster than two or three years down the line no matter what your plan is.

Like both the all whites and the white and blue for away uniforms. Current uni is excellent, but Standing Buffalo helmet is simply the best.
-
I seem to remember reading they can only have one throwback. I'd pick the blue if that's the way it is. Blue throwbacks and Standing Buffalo helmet. Sure wish they could pull that out for the Super Bowl.

Next year's draft has three very good center prospects (Wright, Lambert and Savoie). It's a much stronger draft than this year. I don't think they're purposely tanking, per se, but if you look at the roster configuration and the strength (or lack thereof) of the goaltending, I think they are fine with finishing dead last and securing a 1C prospect to replace Eichel. It's going to be a development year for the youth. Hard to have patience after all these years of ineptitude, but it's a reasonable plan.

More a bridge deal. Would have liked longer term.

God bless, Wacka. I've had two similarly odd experiences regarding my best friend twenty years ago and my uncle. The world is strangely connected, "entangled" the quantum folks say. Not sure if you are a man of faith. I believe ultimately our sorrows are healed. I know it was a long task of love and a hard endurance for you. I'll be praying for you.

Josh Allen is looking a lot more like the 2019 version

Nice post. This is a plausible, rational take. Some folks only equate the latter with pointing out what's wrong, alas. P.S. Don't let the mean lady take Toto. -
How I would fix the passing game. [LAMP]

Screens apparently take a highly functioning, skilled oline. We're not there yet. (Wish we were.) Rodgers ran the ball last night a bunch against the 2 safety high thing. -

It's a no huddle sentence. No time for punctuation. -
This is the quote I was responding to: Agree, if Allen plays like crap again this week there are no more excuses. It will be time to accept that he's simply not good and behind closed doors in Orchard Park there will be serious buyers remorse knowing that he had a fluke year during the weird fanless covid year.

Ridiculous overreaction. O-line has to get their act together. Josh is a little off. Defensive Coordinators studied the film and figured out what we were doing. Strategy and tactics adapt. They'll work it out, just maybe not quick enough to stop Chicken Littleitis. Alright, if that makes you feel better, go for it. I don't think it's one of the easier games, particularly.
-
Their defense is quite good. That young fella looked pretty good last week. We should win, but I hope the players are not putting it in the "one of the easier games" category. That's how you get beat.

9/19//21 Week 2 Bills @ Miami Postgame Thread
Dr. Who replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not smarter than everybody else. Even Scott Law knows to shut up after a 35 - 0 win. Grouse later if you must. -
If one is being serious (against my intentions here, actually,) the fascist aesthetic as a whole, its heavy-handed "monumental" giganticism, the sort of thing evident in Speer's architecture for instance is grandiose, oppressive, obvious, as well as jejune. The idolization of heroic, youthful masculinity, when scrutinized, indicates a truly immature state, a lack of developed capacity to recognize beauty in the ephemeral, the imperfect, that which endures time and its complexities. All that said, they nailed the uniforms.

Historical memory at the drop of a hat, narrative of increasing specialization, and explanation why at the professional level, it's very difficult for a specialist to be good at other specialized positions (such as punter and kicker.) Obviously a bright guy and endearing if you like rooting for the dark side. I take rivalries in sports to be equatable with the antagonisms of professional wrestling. The difference is the particular obnoxious qualities of certain fan bases adds a charge to the animous. Anyway, it's fun to revile the Sith Lord and Tom Terrific. ESPN sycophancy over the years has also contributed to why they are fun to hate, but as human beings, of course, they possess admirable qualities . . . alright, folks, go ahead and report😈

According to some folks, you are officially a Kool Aid drinker. Of course, these are the fellas that avoid this board after a win because they are so irritated by enthusiastic folks making statements insufficiently sober and balanced by critical analysis.
