  1. I will be that guy With the roster as it stands today, 9-8, missing playoffs
  2. Am I totally dense? Hamler and Shavers are on the PS. How can they be listed on the depth chart (which I thought was only for the 53 man roster) Tell me without telling me that I am stupid
  3. For a team short on WR talent in most years of the Allen era, I would have liked that last ratio to be reversed. Also, you bring up Benford and there hasn't been an equivalently good player from the lower rounds at WR. My thought is that if a D minded coach wanted more picks in the earlier rounds on D, then Beane should have flooded the lower rounds with WR picks to hope we hit the lottery on at least one a la Benford. He double dipped with Shorter and Shavers, but both were not good enough to make the roster this year. But I have partly hijackrd this thread and will stop now with the statement that I appreciate your points but didn't fully agree with them re:WR
  4. Fair. But I mixed two points in my post. 1. He hasn't hit on many lower picks at the Wr position . Which you disagree with , and I am fine with that but given the lack of top end talent, I would expect more "swing for the fences " picks 2. Prioritizing WRs in the draft, which has been discussed and debated ad nauseum on this board
  5. Just because you asked... Yes, you nutz
  6. Whether we like his signing or not, props to @DC Grid
  7. I was expecting Shavers to make it over MVS but clearly the FO wants the playoffs experience. With Shorter and Shavers both cut, it is clear that while Beane does well overall with the lower picks, that skill doesn't translate to the WR area. For some reason, the entire process of stocking the WR cabinet is a major weak point in an otherwise competent FO.
  8. I disagree that we have reached our ceiling. But my sentiment is a bit different from yours - I am excited about the season and cant wait for the games to start. However, my expectations are very low and I expect us to narrowly miss the playoffs. I am still going to enjoy the games.
  9. The kid is appreciating his chance to play, isn't coming in with a feeling of entitlement, is happy and then has those instincts and tackling ability. He looks to be far more than a feel good story.
  10. I am not sure with his tendency to drop passes. But let us see
  11. I want to see some passes to Shavers and MVS to know which one makes the team
  12. I am watching for an hour and then off to the pub with mates to drink and listen to a local band. 😝
  13. Nice diagnosis and tackle by Andreesen
  14. With no changes to the roster, we narrowly miss the playoffs. Dolphins win AFCE . I know I am going to get a bunch of vomit and disagree emojis but that's my opinion and I am going to stick with it.
  15. (obligatory statement - never wish injury on any player) If it had to happen, this is good year for it to occur. Imo, it was a stretch that we would make the playoffs so might as well use it to know how fragile Milano really is and put a replacement on the target list for 2025. Reminda me of Jonas Jennings in the durability department
  16. Beane is trying really really hard at seeing how many times we say "who??" When it comes to WRs. Exasperating and frustrating.
  17. With a last name of Davis, why not ?
  18. I am tempering my expectations as I have been waiting for a deal since June 2nd but here we are. I would be happy with a 2 year vet to give the e WR room an edge. E g. Hopkins but now he is injured I sure hope that Beane is looking for an impactful guy and not another scrub like Byrd and Johnson.
  19. Coupled with his past motivation issues, imo, this injury is career ending. In that, he wont have the will to come back
  20. Sounds like a malcontent to me. Avoid
  21. Woo hoo. Kick made from 49 with the wind
  22. He definitely did not buy that at a Macy's off-season sale
  23. I have speculated before and still think that Dorsey's personality was a problem and did not gel with Allen's. Look at how stressed and unhappy Allen looked with Dorsey as an OC. Much has been said about the team in general and Allen in particular looking more relaxed and focused this year than in the past 2. We can attribute it to Diggs being gone and I certainly think that was a factor in the general stress the team was displaying. But imo, it was Diggs and Dorsey who were issues with the team chemistry. Someone who has knowledge from inside the building can corroborate or refute my point of view. But I will be looking at that with the Browns and the Texans this season. The offense players looked and felt palpably different once Dorsey was gone.
  24. Undoubtedly. I don't want to fast forward too much but if Ray Davis wants any shot at being the future #1, these are traits he will have to prove himself to be better at than Cook.
