Need a capable backup quarterback next season.
Fan in Chicago replied to margolbe's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reminder - this thread is about capable backup QBs First time I am vehemently disagreeing with you. Trubisky is terrible and wont get us anywhere near a 0.5 record if JA is out. -
That is correct. I was studying in UB at the time and we listened to the game while sitting in a cheap breakfast cafe in Amherst ($1.65 bought us 2 eggs, toast, one piece of bacon and coffee). We were going to leave, but the comeback started and we kept drinking their coffee till the game ended.

Can Khalil Shakir be WR2 next season?
Fan in Chicago replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your response is going in multiple directions so let comment: - Injury: Looking at his performance before and after end-October leads me to believe he is nursing and playing through an injury. A person of his skills doesnt lose it seemingly overnight. He has been our best receiver prior to it, has good hands, makes tough catches and gets adequate separation. - Yes, he may not be a top 5 receiver in the league but he fits the Bills offense. Our goal should be to spread the ball around and if he is consistently delivering 1000+ yard seasons, I want to stick with him till his skills really decline. - Agreed that Beane has not handled the draft well when it comes to WRs I know you like Davis but let the recent performance by Diggs not cloud your judgment. Diggs has been by far the more consistent player for the Bills prior to October See my response to WEO and to BADOL - i Understand it is weak case to ask for a paycut but it depends on the extent to which injury has affected his play lately. And, I certainly do not want to cut or trade him. -

Fair point. Ithink the cut could discussed as Diggs will be, what 31 next season? But yea, I agree it will be a tough discussion -

We need a WR and Kincaid, while having an important part in the offense, cannot be a substitute -
Bills one of the more popular teams in all sports

What gives us fans a near-cardiac incident every game is pure entertainment to others. A reality show with no knowledge of the outcome and a very compelling protagonist. Whats not to like?- 45 replies

Can Khalil Shakir be WR2 next season?
Fan in Chicago replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be highly optimistic to think that a rookie WR will immediately rise to #1 , not to mention an unfair expectation of him. The way I see this playing out: - Davis leaves - WR is picked in top 2 rounds with the intent of becoming # 1 - Diggs* transitions to #2 role and stays with the Bills - Harty and Sherfield are gone - Shakir is expected to be #3 and will solidify his spot there - A 30 something WR is picked up to be the #4 *I think his decline in production is due to injury and not due to him suddenly hitting a wall. He has very reliable hands and will be a good mentor for a rookie. However, the unknown factor is if Beane asks him to take a paycut - will Diggs agree or pout and leave? -
I am knowingly falling for crayonz's bait but will take it anyway. I just wish at least one of those results dont happen so that this conversation can die a natural death. In any case, it has a limited shelf life

Yea, that's not on Allen.

Is it time to put out an Amber Alert on Dalton Kincaid?
Fan in Chicago replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I understand the concerns of the OP. Kincaid hasn't impacted a game significantly, his depth of target is pretty low and total catches are meh. Before the season, I had hoped for 70 catches/700 yards/7 TDs but ofcourse I was way off target (heh). Over the past two games, a few of his drops were due to inaccuracy by JA so he hasn't suddenly forgotten to catch the football. The kid has good hands. Too early to be disappointed or unhappy about the pick as he is just a rookie. I hope season 2 is much better and justifies the investment made (1st round with trade up) -
What does this mean?

DaQuan Jones is BACK - will play vs the Patriots

I believe a few days back, McD shut down any possibility of Milano returning this season. Very very happy to see Daquan back. -
The not so farfetched way the Bills miss the playoffs
Fan in Chicago replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is a way for us to clinch the playoffs this weekend if we also win, that is correct. It has been posted elsewhere on this forum. But this weekend we cannot clinch by our win alone -

Maybe one on them talking heads who say something about the Bills 😁 -
I disagree on both counts. Dawkins is playing very well.

This is a JA appreciation thread. You have made your own thread to criticize him. You made your counter point in this thread . Over and over again. Take the rest of your critical points to your own thread and let the rest of us focus on being happy for having JA.

He has changed my experience of watching Bills games. Now there is such a thrill and expectation of him pulling off the impossible. Earlier this season, his demeanour was worrisome but he is back , focused and playing very well. The other thought that comes to mind is - how horrible would it have been if he had landed elsewhere in the AFCE. A shudder passes through my body and I appreciate him on the Bills even more

My wife, who doesn't care about football, was praying for the Bills so she wouldn't have me crying through the holiday season -
