Guess I was watching a different game last night. He beat one of the best college defenses of all time by throwing from the pocket and without the help of a run game.
-
Last years 10th overall pick Eli Apple signed a 4 year $15m contract with a 5th year option. When you look at what guys like Fitzpatrick, Chase Daniel, and Tyrod are getting paid, it's an absolute no brainer to take a guy like Watson at #10 who is better than them right now. Same with Kizer and Trubisky. No brainer at those contract #'s to take a chance on guys that at worst will be your #2 QB with potential to be franchise QB's.
-
Might sound crazy, but I think we win 10 games with Watson as our QB this past year. I do see similarities to Tyrod, but being able to run a 2 minute offense and score at the end of games is what separates the 2.
-
No way he lasts until 10. 400 yards against that Bama defense on the biggest stage. Toughness, poise, winner, NFL arm, comfortable in pocket. I think he enters conversation for #1 overall.
-
Watson is a tough mofo.
-
Watson looks like this years Dak Prescott. Doubt GM's make same mistake twice. I know everyone passed on him multiple times, but we took Adolphus Washington over Dak Prescott.
-
If someone is gonna pay Tyrod $20m per year, no way Watson isn't a 1st rounder. If I'm Denver, I'd prefer Watson to Taylor.
-
Taylor doesn't make that pass over the middle

This is like a Bills/Cowboys super bowl. Bama just bigger, stronger, faster, meaner.

St Doug officially head coach in Jax.

Words cannot explain that clip. Unless he was messing with that reporter, there is something seriously wrong with him. -
Jags hire Tom Coughlin as executive
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bet Coughlins presence eliminated most of the guys they interviewed (can't see how it's not awkward reporting to a guy who clearly wanted the head coaching job and has no front office experience)and that's how Doug the quitter got the job. -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone

Darnold certainly looked good as a freshman, but I remember when Barkley was supposed to be a can't miss prospect after his freshman year too. Even if he does turn out to be the real thing next year, he could pull a Peyton manning on the jets and go back to school if he doesn't want to play for Buffalo. -

Can't see a team committing more than a year or 2 to Taylor. He is what he is at this point. He'll never be a good passer, but he doesn't turn it over, can make some big plays when he gets outside the pocket, and is an asset to the run game. He's a good bridge to something better. Denver only situation where he might be the answer but elway isn't dumb enough to commit a lot of money to Taylor. -

It's gonna come down to whether Tyrod wants to be here. Nobody is giving him that kind of guaranteed money. Only competition I see for his services is a team like Denver where he takes less money for a chance to increase his value on a playoff caliber team. Can't think of any other playoff caliber teams with a clear QB need. -
Have folks already given up on Cardale?
BuffaloRebound replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with others that there's nothing there yet to give up on. He's a developmental 3rd stringer until he proves something in pre-season or the Bills go into tank mode. Will give him credit on working on his body. Looks like he shed a few pounds from his Ohio State days. He better hope Bills don't take QB in 1st or 2nd round in April. Chances of developing then are basically zero. -
Coach search has come (again) who is the best fit?

I'd be all for obrien too. Guy from Belichik tree who's actually had success outside of New England. -
Perhaps Buffalo needs to Draft a competent Sports Media
BuffaloRebound replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I don't get is how the Buffalo News has the budget to employ all these guys to basically write the same stuff? They're certainly not breaking any news. You don't need more than 1 or 2 of them to do what they're doing. After 17 years of futility, I get the negativity but not sure why you need 4 or 5 of them to sit in press conferences, ask the same questions, and write the same stuff. Surprised a Buffett owned business is so inefficient. -
Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach

Let Gilmore walk. He's shown he doesn't care about dogging it for half the season. Not worth it to tag him. Take the 3rd round comp pick. -
Coach search has come (again) who is the best fit?

Then the next question is how a guy who couldn't land a coordinator position for 10 years was getting head coach interviews? Not interested in a Rooney Rule discussion. There's gotta be more than 1 minority coordinator out there. Are there that few guys willing to interview unless they are the favorite to get the job? Rob McDermott - a coordinator for a below average defense is now a hot candidate? -

Would love to know how all the same candidates seem to get interviewed by all the teams with openings. Do all NFL teams use the same search firm or something? There's 64 coordinators and a bunch of college coaches, yet every year there's 5 or 6 hot candidates who interview for all the openings. Lynn has been an NFL assistant for over 10 years and this is the 1st year he ever got a coordinator position which was due to an in-season firing. Now we're supposed to believe he's some kind of of hot commodity? -
GM Doug Whaley's end of season press conference
BuffaloRebound replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because the Buffalo media is too f'in stupid to realize Whaley wasn't gonna throw his bosses under the bus. -
GM Doug Whaley's end of season press conference

What do you want him to say? Rex didn't report to him so Pegulas had all the power to fire or retain him. Doesn't matter what Whaley thinks about the Rex firing. Not his job. Whaley came across as a loyal employee to the Pegulas. -
GM Doug Whaley's end of season press conference

Whoever asked Whaley what does he do for a living should be fired on the spot. Unprofessional and embarrassing. Perhaps a little diversity on the Bills reporter beat would do some wonders. Don't need 10 angry middle-aged white guys to provide the exact same viewpoint.
