  1. The more we learn the more I think anything less than an 8 game suspension for Brady and major fines for Patriots is a joke. They are basically daring the NFL to do it. Rogue organization.
  2. Completely agree with the original premise. Look at the Dolphins with Suh. The tampering rules for free agency are a joke since no one follows them. Look at Rex with Collins. If all the NFL is gonna do is fine you $100k, it definitely is worth it to cheat. Almost becoming like steroids in baseball. If you're not cheating, you're a chump.
  3. Think it's gonna come down to trust more than anything. Collins basically lost $8-9m in all this. If an owner tells him he's gonna take care of him (i.e. give him a new contract as soon as he's allowed to get one that maybe re-coups some of the money he would've got as a 1st rounder) and Collins believes him, that's probably where he ends up. With Pegula and Rex, we have as good a shot as anyone.
  4. Disagree. Even if he still would've been allowed to play, there was a fire-storm swirling at the time, and it would've only got worse if Brady didn't deny all wrong-doing. Even though most non-Patriots fans knew he was lying, Brady and Belichick's denials seemed to rally the team and its fans.
  5. Brady's main goal I'm sure was the Super Bowl. Anything that would've jeopardized his chances at playing or causing more of a distraction was probably all he cared about. How many more chances is a 38 year-old QB gonna get at winning a Super Bowl? So he had a press conference and lied his teeth off to ensure that he'd play in the Super Bowl. Even if he gets banned for a year, it will have been worth it. That's why NFL has to come down hard.
  6. +1000. D-bag Rodak thought he had headlines for the entire day. Someone needs to let McCoy know that he's being used and should be careful who he shares his opinions with.
  7. As is often the case, the cover-up is worse than the crime. Anything less than half a season suspension is a joke. If he had come clean, probably would've been a fine.
  8. Last years 19th pick, ironically the Dolphins OT Jujaun James, signed a 4 year, 8.4m fully guaranteed contract. Bills would be getting Collins for probably 3 years and $1m total. If Rex can pull this off, he would've re-couped a 1st pick and saved his boss over $7m.
  9. Other than weather, don't understand why he'd go to Miami. There's no clear path to play Tackle and Philbin is a dead-man-walking if they don't make the playoffs. So he gets to play Guard for a mediocre team for most likely an entirely new coaching staff the following year.
  10. If it's between us and Dolphins, I like our chances. Fins have Albert and James at Tackle, and continuity in coaching staffs is gonna be high on the priority list for a guy looking for a payday after year 3. Gotta think Philbin is on borrowed time and probably gone if they don't make playoffs. Rex and his staff probably safe for at least 3 years. And he gets to block for McCoy.
  11. La'el Collins would look good on that depth as starting RT. Henderson probably better suited as a swing tackle right now. Given how bad Kouandjio looked last year, can't depend on much from him. Glenn, Urbik, Miller, Wood, incognito, Collins, Henderson could be a nice top 7. Since Tackles make more money on their 2nd contract, a team that can promise a good shot at the starting Right Tackle job you'd think would have best shot of landing Collins.
  12. IMO, Leodis is the most likely player to be traded. If Whaley liked Darby that much, he isn't sitting. Lots of teams need CB's. Let's go back to the Philly well. Leodis and Manuel for Bradford.
  13. The less the Bills have to depend on Leodis the better.
  14. If he's open to leaving Louisiana, Bills offer him as good an opportunity as anybody else. He'd be a good fit for Bills power running attack, would start immediately, and he gets to block for one of the premier running backs. Get Pegula, Rex, and McCoy on a plane to Louisiana the second he's cleared. Maybe after everything that's happened, he wants to get away to a low-key place and focus on football.
  15. He's an undrafted free agent, not an unrestricted free agent. There's a rookie draft pool salary cap and undrafted free agents are slotted at the league minimum and whatever modest signing bonus is allotted for undrafted free agents. If Collins is cleared, there's gonna be a mad dash to sign him. Basically getting a 1st rounder for nothing.
  16. Until we have a good QB on the roster, Bills should seriously consider drafting a QB every year until we find one. Stop wasting time on the Manuel's and Tuel's that we already know aren't any good. Belichick has one of the all-time best QB's and he still burns 2nd and 3rd round picks on QB's hoping to find his replacement.
  17. Doubt it was the Bills. Pretty sure we would've taken Newton if he was available at #3, and if we had Gabbert rated almost as high, we probably would've taken Gabbert instead of Dareus. That being said, not sure Bills would've had Manuel rated much higher than this list or else we wouldn't have risked trading down and him still being available. This list does kind of confirm that Manuel wasn't much of a reach at #16.
  18. EJ's #1 problem is that he's afraid to cut it loose. You would think Rex would be as good as any coach in making EJ pull the trigger and play with some swagger.
  19. Interesting situation to watch. Rivers makes it sound like San diego to LA is going to happen.
  20. At this point, I don't even care if we get him, just make Miami cut a few more players in order to sign him.
  21. Highly doubt Bills would go public with an offer unless they were sure Clay was gonna sign it.
  22. Problem with front-loading the contract that much is do you trust the guy won't hold-out or be unhappy when he's only making $2-3m next year?
