  1. Beware! I went through this exact scenario last year and got into a huge fight with DTV. If I'm wrong then I apologize but I'd bet dollars to donuts that you only are receiving the ST max for free while still paying for the base ST package.
  2. So, I'm gonna be driving thru ATL next month and thought this would be a great stop. Alas... closing for good on June 23rd. http://www.barkersredhots.com/
  3. Little known fact... MTM was a big Bills fan! - Pic taken "early" morning of 10/22/00 after an all night pub crawl in downtown Minneapolis.
  4. If he spent the last 4 weeks losing weight, getting straight and getting into playing shape, I'd give it a shot. He was a powerful inside runner LY - something that appears to be lacking so far.
  5. Likewise, Timothy Mcveigh was also a Bills fan. Saw a pic of him in his cell on death row wearing a Bills sweatshirt. I had to look away.
  6. For my taste, Amherst does a great job followed very closely by the "Killer B's" - Bocce on Baily, Blasdell & Bella. Man, I want to hope on a plane just to go to one (or all of 'em) right now!
  7. I listen to 'GR up until Rome then switch to Minneapolis sports talk radio as I'm a big Twins fan. Just be happy that 'GR doesn't play the "1 877 Kars for Kids" commercials.
  8. How 'bout another cup of coffee, Johnny?
  9. The prologue provides a lot of in-depth information about wargs. The chapter is seen through the eyes of a particularly powerful warg, Varamyr. At one point, Varamyr recalls meeting JS who he confirms is a strong yet untrained warg who still fights his ability rather than embrace it. Couple this with JS's last word being "Ghost" and as many have suggested, JS returning as having warged into his dire wolf becomes a very strong possibility at some point in the future.
  10. For those of you who are book readers, I'd recommend a re-read of the prologue in ADWD. About 2/3 through, it provides some interesting info on JS that you may have forgotten. I certainly did. Actually, the entire chapter, when read again, is a lot more relevant after all of the events in the book are concluded.
  11. In an earlier post, I stated that I indeed believe that JS is coming back in some form. I quoted the EW interview with Harrington as it created some doubt for me. So to that end and from the same interview: Harrington: "....And as far as the salary thing goes, that angered me when that story came out. I don’t know where it came from, but it was inaccurate in many ways. It’s going to put questions into your head and into fans’ heads that things are not what they are. Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/14/game-thrones-jon-dies-interview
  12. Entertainment Weekly: "...So let me ask you: Is Jon really dead?" Harrington: "This is my understanding of it. I had a sit-down with Dan and David, we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, “Look, you’re gone, it’s done.” "...Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” If anything in the future is not like that, then I don’t know about it – it’s only in David and Dan and George’s heads. But I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you, really. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/14/game-thrones-jon-dies-interview
  13. I read an interview with Kit Harrington (actor who plays JS) after my original post last night and he states emphatically that he will not be back in season six. My wife equates that to killing-off Dr. "McDreamy" in her (not my!!!) Grey's Anatomy. And I do know several female GoT fans that watch the show primarily for Snow. That's got to have them po'd. Anyway, even knowing from book 5 that the Black Brothers were going to off JS "for the Watch", I always thought that GRRM would have a device to bring him back. Now, I'm not so sure. Yes, he could have warged into Ghost and there are other possibilities too but we may have really seen the last of Snow. If so, R+L=J becomes moot.
  14. Well, although I'm not completely thrilled on how they got there, I'm really happy that the show runners got the main story-line back into alignment with the books. With the strong exception with the Stannis arc. We really don't know a lot about what's going to happen next. I'm among those who believe that Melisandre will bring JS back to life very early next season. I'm also really hoping that GRRM actually does get book six completed by he end of the year. Unfortunately, I also believe that it will primarily a bridge to the final book. Speaking of Stannis, I think that after last week, he had to have everything fall apart this week or the fan masses would have revolted and I loved that Brienne was the one to finish him off.
  15. I need a little help here from those who are up to date on both the HBO series and the book. IF YOU ARE NOT UP TO DATE, YOU MAY NOT WANT TO READ ON. Anyway.... I decided to checkout the latest teaser chapter of WoW released by GRRM and something hit me as I read the first couple of paragraphs: In the HBO series, Sansa's marriage to Ramsey is not legal. "Why?" you may ask? Because she is still married to Tyrion (Unless I missed the divorce somewhere). Was this fact overlooked by fans due to the outrage of Sansa's wedding night? I can't believe that the showrunners simply overlooked this.
  16. [quote name="Brandon" post="3576978" timestamp="1433731481 And by the way, honest question: Does Dany have greyscale now? Jorah held her hand for a good while. Great point. She should if the show is true to the story. As for Stannis, this has been leading up to sacrificing his daughter for a couple of weeks now. It wasn't surprising to me but sure was disgusting. As I read on another site: he's a fanatic as is his wife and Melisandre. And fanaticism doesn't have boundaries.
  17. First " Hardhome" and now "Dance of Dragons". Two great episodes with hopefully an outstanding finale next week. I was really discouraged the first few weeks but these last two were worth the wait. Just one thing bothers me: where the heck are the great Unsullied warriors to protect Dany. I mean really...I get that they had to make it kind of desperate for Drogon's dramatic return but the Unsullied have been pretty ordinary, twice now.
  18. Buffalo Brew Pub - wings/beer Amherst Pizza - pizza/beer Schwabls - beef on weck/beer
  19. (Thou) doth protest too much, methinks.
  20. $700,000 bond! Holy crap. She must be pretty dangerous.
  21. Back in the sixties, when someone abandoned their ideals for money, we used to call it "selling out". If GRRM signed-off on this crap that I've watched the last three weeks, then it proves what I've thought for a number of years: he has no clue where to take this story and is allowing the HBO team to take it wherever they want just to cash a check. The worst three hours of this series ever IMO.
  22. Am I being to paranoid here? Is entering my exact DOB providing too much information to a website that probably knows other stuff about me? I'm always reluctant to participate in stuff like this. Am I too cautious?
  23. I don't have a memory of which Bills game in the early 60's was my first. It's just what my brothers and friends and I used to do on Sundays (or Saturdays) - go to the Rockpile whenever we could to watch the Bills. The crowd screaming "Yoho" on kickoffs (for our kicker, Mack Yoho). The fights in the endzones for the footballs after each PAT. Throwing snowballs at the opposing teams. Watching Cookie Gilchrist literally run over would-be tacklers. "we want Lamonica" chants. All these were a regular part of our weekends. But the very first game which I attended that I will NEVER forget is the AFL Championship game on Saturday December 26th, 1964. 40,000 people exclaiming "oohh" all at once and then going quiet as Mike Stratton broke Keith Lincoln's ribs. You could hear the crack echo around the stadium. I remember that Lincoln lay on the ground for quite some time before they finally got him off the field. He never got back in the game and the Bills won the League title. That was my first taste of what it meant for "my team" to be a champion. It happened again the next year but as they say, you never forget your first time.
