Well, it looks like I guessed the value correctly. Now that we have heard that the Bills made and offer, I am happy to know that Beane is looking for a better backup QB option. I want Josh Allen to have a competent backup, like Jim Kelly had Frank Reich. I’m not saying Lance is that guy, but we may have been able to develop him into it.

We could have offered our 4th, and the 49ers decided that the Cowboys 4th would be an earlier pick than ours, but most likely, we offered a 5th or 6th. At least it is good to know that Beane is looking for a long-term solution to the back up position. I want Josh Allen to get his “Frank Reich”.

It is possible that part of why he "is not good" is because of the offense that Shanahan runs. It may require a more cerebral QB, like Purdy and Darnold, to run it effectively. This does not mean that Lance couldn't be successful in a different system. If the price was low enough, and we could work out the contract to have him as a backup for a couple of years, it might be worth a look.

Interesting. I don't think that was the original plan, but I could be wrong. I have a feeling McDermott hopes to end the pre-season on a high note, and build the teams confidence going into week one.

I know some here feel that backup QB is a weakness for the Bills this season. I have no idea what the 49ers are willing to trade him for, but since he is a 3rd string QB on their roster, and they have a decent 4th QB right now, they may take less than I originally thought. I personally would gladly trade a 4th or lower for him, because his style of play is a closer fit to Josh Allen than our current backups.

There was just a good segment on NFL Live, where Bill Barnwell and Mina Kines were listing what they thought was each playoff team’s potential fatal flaw was. For the Bills, they said the O-line. But then they went further, to basically single out Spencer Brown. I am one of the ones that hopes he is better this season, now that he is healthier, so I am hoping we prove them wrong.

There is no way that is real. If it is, Bills mafia would be able to crowd fund bonuses for players, to circumvent the salary cap.
