Yeah, I love the player but it’s funny how so many excuses the Minnesota stuff. We are a much better offense because of him but is he the type of player that would be happy with a win and one catch or a loss with 10? I wonder sometimes.

Diggs loses himself. Great player but he is a drama king. Receivers are the worst and it would be wrong to put that on SM. now if Allen said something, that would be concerning.

That’s fair. After both of their first seasons, I would put McDaniels ahead of SM though. But I think both are top type coaches.

Do I think McDermott is some elite strategist? No. But I think some people are overlooking is when a team has high expectations, it’s keep guys in check and not letting egos get out of control. In that regards, I think SM is great at that. The way he deals with Diggs when he is crying on the sidelines is so underrated. Like weirdo Phil Jackson wasn’t the best X’s and O’s guy but he kept Shaq, Kobe, Jordan, and Pippen in check. That’s a huge thing when you are dealing with pro athletes. McDermott is top 5 imo at that.

It’s a great cost effective pick up. But man, I’d love to just have a nasty 3 down back. Imagine Henry, Jackson, half a season Spiller, or Anthony Thomas on this offense!

Love to see the race/ breakdown of the guys who want the old name back. Sure it’s a super diverse group! and their new name sucks and they should change it. But riding for redskins is wild.

Yeah as others said, if the bills leave,l Buffalo, I won’t have a team. I think it’s weird that raiders fan follow the team no matter where they go. For me, it’s only about Buffalo. Buffalo vs the world. I grew up liking the Mets and Knicks but I can never really get invested in other non Buffalo teams. I would say I’d quit the nfl all together but I love gambling and fantasy. So McDermott’s ranking is really stupid and far too low. He is a very good coach and players have to love playing for him. His temperament is perfect for all the tough things we have had to deal with this year and in the past. But based on your post, for this team this year: would I rather McDermott and Dorsey or would I rather have that nerd in Miami and Fangio? Personally, and it’s not even shade towards McDermott but that total package, I think I take that trade every day of the week. It would be scary to think that nerd boy could do with Allen and Fangio is considered one of the best DCs in football. If Tua stays healthy, they are an absolute problem. Look at soccer and the nba. They fire coaches who win championships after 3 years. It’s a wild profession. This list is stupid because it’s a projection. What McDermott has done as a Bills coach so far is at worst top 10. However, with this current roster, could there be a better coach, namely an offensive one who might be better? Possibly. But you are right. It’s because we have been spoiled and expectations are crazy. Look at Frazier: fired after consistently putting together top 10 defenses. It’s a wild business.

The 49ers are a team that is almost qb proof. That’s why a guy like purdy could set in and not miss a beat. Also, on paper, the Ravens are very good. Best receiving group Lamar has ever had, their defense was really good to end the year. Their whole situation is if they will remain healthy, because they have made the playoffs every year Lamar has been healthy. Cowboys will choke but they definitely have had some loaded rosters. I’d swap our skill players for theirs in a second.

Good point. And I agree with you. Football has never been safer. I remember seeing stars and my coach being like, you just got your bell rung, you’re fine haha.

Whining about the schedule in May is so boring. We have no idea what teams are going to be good. Last year at this time, the afc west was going to be this amazing division and the nfc east was a joke, I used to like Sharp but he’s jumped the shark.

Growing up playing both sports, the biggest obstacle with hockey is money. It’s really expensive. Football is such a unique sport because it takes so many different type of athletes to play it. I also think the physical part of it will be a major wake up call to non rugby countries. I love football but Oklahoma drills in hot august is a form of torture. Let’s be honest. We have a generation (I’m becoming a grumpy old man!) of soft, entitled wussies (wanted to use another word). To become great at football, it is an absolute grind. More than any other sport, the mindset of a football is so different. You can’t fake it as much as you can in other sports.

Honestly, what did people expect from a guy who has never been an OC before? Blame McDermott for making him the OC but it’s wild the expectations some have. “I know you have never done this job but you need to be awesome at it right away. “ It’s hindsight, but since he left LC, Bienemy would have been a helluva a hire.

I get to a point what you’re saying. But to say it means nothing is wrong as well. The defense helps us win a bunch of games in the regular season. They may have folded at times but it still was a strength of the team most of the year.

Finally, we can have a real DC who can lead us past our terrible rankings of the last two seasons of, checking notes, #2 and #1!!!!

I mean in their time frame. Of course those 49ers won’t have a chance e because they are in their 50s and 60s now! but the rules are so easier for offense. Imagine Cole Beasley running crossing routes in the 80s against Ronnie Lott. Imagine qbs taking the hits they used to take. Defensive backs can’t breath on a receiver or it’s penalty, also, dual threat qbs are getting the chances they never used to get. we hate him but Dan Marino passed for 5,000 yards when guys struggled to get to 3,000. Now Matt Stafford can do it. Just way different eras.

3 - kinda terrible at actually playing qb and Bennett didn’t get a degree after 15 years in college??? From Georgia???? That is absolutely a huge red flag. How is that even possible? Wingman for Josh Allen in Buffalo has to the best job ever: “Hi ladies. That’s my friend Josh. He’s really rich, really good at sports, tall, and just had his heart broken.” almost as effective as my polar bear opener. Almost. 😉

1 - never in a million year did I expect Allen to be this good. Shout out to him and the bills. 2 - all modern stats need to be taken with a grain of salt. I would love to see Randall Cunningham or Steve Young in this era. 3 - I know he’s hated by a lot here but Cam was such a beast. There was a stat that not one skill player he played with on offense ever took a snap in the nfl. I hate the idea of telling Allen not to fight for every year but Cams story is a cautionary tale. either way, we are very lucky fans to have him. Unless he tries to take my lady. Then, the bills won’t have a starting qb anymore. 🥹

He is the definition of qbs getting too much credit for team success. A player who was never a top 10 players at his position should never be a HOFer.
