1) Hunt missed the last 7 games. Hill and Kelce both had their career high in yards by 300. 2) Mahomes probably would have benefited from playing with a defense ranked 2nd (us) than one ranked 31st. 3) maybe the reason Reid took Mahomes, and this is crazy, is because he’s really good!

I think Mayfield is on another level but certainly the other division first round qbs is a great comparison. I think the Jets and Bills are very similar so whichever qb is better will probably result in the better team.

Yup. I simply think Mahomes and Watson are just better qbs than Allen. I don’t think Allen would have done what Mahomes did in KC. He’s just not that type of passer.

But isn’t that part of it though? We didn’t have to have a bad situation for Allen. We didn’t have to start the season with no veteran qb on the roster. We didn’t have to trade up for Zay instead of just taking JuJu. A lot of the problems on offense were self inflicted. I know Sammy is a sore subject here but KC paid him a lot of money to be a 3 td option. Think about that. We just bargain basement shop for receivers. And based on his resume, I don’t know why everyone is so sold on Daboll. But I do hope you’re right even if I’m very skeptical. Why do think Daboll is better? Because nothing in his nfl resume indicates that he is.

You really don’t see the similarities? I think McDermott is a more aggressive defensive coach but I believe he has a similar mindset in how he wants to win games. He’s conservative and not a risk taker. He has been terrible on challenges and we have penalty problems. We also have a tendency to get blown out a lot. I think McDermott, like Jauron, would be fine if he has a really good OC and Qb and can just concentrate on defense. I guess we’ll see if we have those because that killed Jauron. In fairness, Chip Kelly won 10 game in his first 2 seasons. He should have never been the GM. That’s where I’m at on Allen too. I think it was a risky pick based on a lot of history for an organization that sucks at developing qbs. I mean if we had Andy Reid or Sean McVay, it’s one thing.

Regardless if you agree with me, I try not to make snap judgments. So I’m not just hating on Daboll because of a year. It’s more that his nfl as a OC is terrible. He basically has been a bottom 5 OC his whole career. I thought it was a bad hire when it was made. Bama and Hurt were better under Kiffin. Everyone tried to blame all the offensive problems on Tyrod and Dennison. Well, we got worse without them. If Daboll leads this offense to average status, which he has never done, I will gladly sing his praises. But for some reason, he avoids a lot of criticism. I’d argue a big part of that is because he got selected by one of the best offensive coaches of his generation. I’d feel better about Allen if we had more successful offensive people making the pick. I don’t trust McBeane at this point on offense.

In his one start as a rookie, Mahomes had more passing yards than Allen in any of his starts this year. Mahomes is special.

But McDermott hired him in the first place knowing that! A lot of people (myself included) knew that offense was a terrible fit for Tyrod and this team. Yet as bad as Dennison was and I was told it couldn’t worse than him, our offense was even worse last year. And Daboll has a worse nfl resume than Dennison. Its amazing the passes this new regime gets from some fans. They have a ton to prove this year on offense. Very true. Rex murder a top 5 defense with his “scheme.”

Also, I would take the Whaley roster after 2 years over this current one. Obviously, it will all depend on Allen.

Whaley is the GM so he takes the blame (even though the Pegulas completely handcuffed him). But compare that draft with his others. Good players playing key roles all over the league. Do you think Whaley wanted to destroy the number 3 defense in the nfl (one of the best in my history of being a Bills fan) for Rex’s system? I put way more of that blame on Rex than Whaley. I know a lot of people try to bash Whaley (who had the same record through 2 years as the new regime everyone loves) but imo, he was a good soldier and they killed him. He should have gotten rid of Marrone when he decided to not play EJ (right or wrong you have to let your young qb play. I’m not the biggest Allen fan but I’d flip out if he got benched this year). Then he should have been able to hire his own coach. He was never given that chance,

I had a friend that would literally hit on every girl in a bar when we went out. No how badly he got reject or laughed at, it didn’t stop him. I went from both being embarrassed (it was also very easy to play off his bad game ?) to super impressed with his complete delusion. He was the Ryan Brothers. I have grown to respect their complete delusion about their coaching abilities.

Working on it. I just need a family member or a friend employed by a NFL team. That’s how you get in. See McBeane. And JuJu was an animal for a school that routinely puts out good receivers. Zay got drafted by a team that gave his college coach a job.

I know you will never agree but it was more of the player than the position. If the Bills drafted Earl Thomas or Ed Reed, no one cares. And Whitner got drafted by us later in the draft, he is thought of much different. He was a solid player for a lot of years in the nfl.

What about this regime’s these offensive moves so far makes you so sure they know what they are doing on offense (they have done awesome on defense)? Passing on Mahomes? Trading up for Zay instead of staying pat and taking JuJu or Kupp? Signing Mike Tolbert? Jordan Matthews? Trading for Benjamin? Peterman? Dennison? Going into last season with no veteran back up qb? 2 terrible offenses back to back?

Quick question: would you support a similar move to get Allen the top receiver in next year’s class if no one looks like a number 1 on the current roster?

He also went 5-11 his first year with the Pats. I think he was 0-2 before before Mo Lewis killed Bledsoe. I dont think BOB will win 6 SBs. I’m just saying Belichick would have been thought of as a worse coach than BOB after 5 years.

Has he lived up to the draft selection? Of course not. His foot injury, imo, has lingered with him. But again, he has been a starter on the nfl’s 1 offense 2 years in a row for 2 different teams. While Sammy hasn’t produced the big number, he is still a big threat that defenses have to account for. I worry that don’t have enough of those threats. I guess the hope is that Foster is more of the 2nd half guy than the 1st/ college Foster. IMO, Brown isn’t big enough to be that guy.

So saying that We would be really happy if McDermott had Lynn’s 21-12 record is “bashing” him? When did Bills fans turn into such sensitive ❄️? i know for a fan I would be praising McDermott for having that record especially if he took over a team that won 9 games in the 2 years before him (instead of 15).
