Jim Kelly? ? and I had Jackson and Allen tied in their draft when they came out. Both super talented, both have some flaws. Pretty stupid to make any concrete judgements right now but I will say Jackson has made some questionable off the field things that makes me wonder. But Roman is the right OC (and very underrated here) for him.

Agreed. It’s an extremely stupid, especially with the resources and apps that are out there. But sadly, he is far from the exception. It’s daily life. Their qb tied a rookie record for td passes (ours completed 52% of his passes), our top receiver would struggle to crack their top 4, they have a super talented 1st round TE, they added a pro bowl and have a 2nd year guy who had a good rookie season, they have a 1overall DE and added a Pro Bowler pass rusher. Come on Promo! You are the ultimate Bills fan but you can try to be somewhat realistic. i mean it’s the Browns so I’m sure something bad will happen. But I’d trade our roster for theirs in a second. That is a very generous ranking. They have potential but they have a ton to prove. We don’t have Returning DT who had a sack last year, Star and Shaq are one dimensional players, and Murphy will get hurt. Love Oliver but he is a rookie. Definitely have a bunch of talent but they need to prove it.

There is a world where the Bills re-sign Gilmore (1st team all pro) and draft White. There is also a world where the Bills re-sign Gilmore, keep the 10 pick and draft Mahomes or Watson. Then, instead of trading up for ZAy, they stay put and draft JuJu or Cooper Kupp. But I will be murdered for criticizing the process. I get where you’re coming from but Wilson was like a 70% passer in college and is a career 64%. He’s pretty accurate and guys like that have an easier time spreading the ball around. my fear is Daboll is trying to copy NE and Allen shouldn’t play the same way as Brady. Good point but they say it’s really tough for young QBs to train their eyes from looking certain places. Allen, for better or worse, wants to make a big play. It will be an adjustment for him to look quickly down field and just take the short stuff. It seems like it should be super easy but he’s been playing a certain way his whole life.

For Tom Brady, nope, it doesn’t matter. But for Allen and most young QBs, they should have too target. You need a guy you can throw to with the game on the line. You also need a guy who draws consistent double teams and is a person defenses have to key on every play. I worry we don’t have that and that might hold his offense back.

I love Bills fans who hate on a qb who took us to back to back playoff games. But then again, we have been loaded with playoff berths since so I get it! Flutie was Johnny Manziel without the coke problem. This is an entirely different nfl then the one he entered. He would have been a 1st round pick instead of battle his way through the CFL.

Bandit, let me start off by saying I respect you as a poster and generally get where you’re coming from. But man, I’ve never disagree with you more. I think your bias is getting in the way here. No where but a Bills board would it even be considered that Kelly is better than Marino or Elway. 1). The SB argument is beyond stupid. Kelly isn’t a top 10 QBs because he lost SBs. He’s just simply not a top 10 qb. Aaron Rodgers, a top 10 QB IMO has lost playoff games where he scored 45 points. Eli Manning gets carried by his defense and gets lucky and has 2 SB wins. By the rings argument, ElI is better than Rodgers which is insane. 2) I was really young but Kelly was an awful leader. Started the bickering Bills. Had some Big Ben type stories. He’s matured with age but that stuff matters. 3) again, I was young, but please review those Broncos and Fins teams. They are a joke minus their qbs. Elway and Marino carries their teams. The Elway teams that went to the SBs before TD were literally some of the worst SB teams ever. Kelly was part of a machine. Played with a top 10 Rb of all time. 2 HOF receivers. The defense had a top 5 DE. Pro bowl and HOF oline, the talent difference between the Bills and Broncos and Fins was night and day. 4) Kelly was awful in the playoffs. Like he sucked. They won in spite of him. And on the biggest stages, he is one of the worst SB qbs ever. Kelly is our greatest QB and a well deserved HOF. But man is he overrated here (I get it). Frank Reich could step in and they didn’t miss a beat. Next to the Cowboys, the Bills had the best rosters in the nfl. One of the greatest collection of talent ever and a lot of good QBs would have thrived, JMO.

Kelly was a terrible leader for a lot of his Bills career. He single handedly nearly destroyed the Bills. The Bills had a much better team than the Fins or Broncos. Miami has crap rbs and a soft defense. Those Elway teams were terrible. Honestly we’re hairs here but if switch Kelly with either Marino or Elway, I think we win at least one SB. Those guys were just better overall qbs than Kelly. Kelly played on one of the most stacked teams of all time. Again, he’s very good but those guys are great IMo.

I was talking with a friend about this and we couldn’t remember if it was legal. I got see a ref flagging it if a guy goes head over heels though.
