Will we pay Poyer or won't we?
C.Biscuit97 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they should and have a clause where Rachel Bush is only allowed be seen and not heard. ? that said, I do get if they don’t want to pay him. I had some major questions about their ability to evaluate offensive talent but they are great at evaluating defensive personnel, especially in the secondary. If they think he is replaceable for cheaper, I would trust their judgment. -
So whatever will happen to "Right Josh" Rosen?
C.Biscuit97 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean I guess there was a heated debate about which Josh to take but it’s kinda pathetic how happy some people are about the Rosen situation. The league is better with more good qbs. More qbs are ruined than made. There is not a 1st or 2nd year qb who would have succeed in his situations. Those were pathetic situations to put a guy in. By comparison, Allen looks like he raised a perfect family while Rosen raised by the Manson family. He may end up just sucking but if you are saying that because of those situations, you just want to be right because you don’t like that some Bills fans wanted him or you don’t like his politics. he’s our rival now but I hope he goes to a good franchise because it’s embarrassing the situations he’s been in. I would have the said the same thing for any rookie who went through what he has. Well said, I think the qb and receiver situation that Allen had as a rookie was pretty dumb but he has had the luxury of a top 3 defense both years. The team also committed to building the o line around him and got him some weapons. It’s so weird to say but we finally gave a young qb a non dysfunctional situation to grow in. That’s the exact opposite of what Rosen has had. It’s like out of a textbook of how to ruin a young quarterback. -
The only thing that “worries” me 1) his number increase is absolutely amazing. There was zero evidence this was in store. 2) he’s older 3) personally, I like qbs who put up huge college numbers who are carrying the team. He was playing on a nfl offense. that said, I really like him and that was as dominant of a season as I have ever seen. I think they should keep Dalton for one more year but they suddenly became really interesting. Their skill players are pretty good. They have the woman puncher at rbs and some good rbs. Their oline sucks.

Sucks. Great player but he had to do it. It’s absolutely insane that Junior Seau was allowed to played LB for 20 years in the nfl. This is going to the norm going forward.

Josh Allen vs. Russel Wilson Year 2
C.Biscuit97 replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) it’s not a coincidence that Lynch’s best years were with Wilson. Wilson, like many mobile qbs, creates running lanes for their rbs because of their running threat 2) people are completely overrating Seattle’s weapons. Tate had seasons of 300 and 200 yards before Wilson. Doug Baldwin was such a weapon that’s he wasn’t even drafted. Rice has one good year before (and after) Wilson. Most of these guys are good because of Wilson. 3) Wilson was a 70% passer in the Big 10. If he was a couple inches taller, he may have been 1 overall. I was slow to appreciate his greatness but he is a top 5 qb and has been pretty much since he started. as a guy who once found stats to compare Losman and Favre, it’s fun to do. Allen’s stat also matchup really close to Mitchell and he had worse passing stats than Bortles as a second year player. So it’s all in who you choose to compare him too. Based on their past, Wilson was a lot surer of a bet than Allen. But Allen did show improvement but it’s a complete guess whether he is closer to Wilson or Mitchell/ Bortles at this point. -
Seems like a great hire. It all depends on the injuries but Cam was off to the best passing season of his career a couple of years ago. It will be real interesting to see what they do with him because I’m pretty sure Allen or Grier aren’t the answer. Burrow went up nearly 20% on his completion % and went from 16 to 60 tds!!! Absolutely insane and the Panthers have a bunch of weapons. They could be real tough last year. MR picked a good spot. You better pray the get back guy is holding Venables back!

Article comparing Josh Allen to other 1st round QBs
C.Biscuit97 replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His coach was Carson Wentz’ college coach. I completely get what you’re saying but I would think having a coach who developed a top 5 prospect a few years earlier would be beneficial. -
It doesn’t make it right but this stuff happens in almost every locker room. Also by all accounts, this guy is thought to have great character. I believe his dad drown when he was kid trying to save him and his brother was killed by lightning. Would kinda suck to hear if someone who went through that would be a part of this.

Patriots Patrick Chung beats the rap

You know they suspended Tom Brady right? -
Love, love Claypool! He also dealt with his sister committing suicide and is from Canada. Seems like a really mature guy and would be a perfect addition to our receiving core. He’s a baller and another perfect complement.

? the Burrow thing is insane to me. He was ok last year and just had one of the greatest seasons in college football history. Allen didn’t have half of the year he had in the MWC. That said, Burrow is surrounded by elite college talent. But man is he really accurate. Allen is far more physically talented but I won’t be shocked if Burrow is already a better passer as a rookie. and just cause guys are good in college doesn’t mean they will be in the pros. Beasley will end up having a better career than the majority of guys drafted this year. But yeah on paper, the LSU and Bama receivers are in insane.

Sammy Watkins: New Teams, Same Bad Attitude
C.Biscuit97 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The OP is a good dude but I think this is a bit of a stretch. He has 12 more tds than Wright. We we say bust, you don’t look at the circumstances. He played on a high school offense, with bad qbs, and rushed back from a foot injury. Yup, he hasn’t lived up to his draft status and probably never will. Yet, 2 of the best offensive coaches in the entire league wanted him and he is in the playoffs for 3rd straight year playing on one of the best offenses. not a star but certainly is doing well for himself.
