Terry, for the love of the city please sell the Sabres. Been asking you nicely for 3 years now. Any other owner by sheer accident would have a better team. and if they get sold and moved so be it. This has been embarrassing for years now.

12/8/24 Game 14 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Rams post game Thread

I heard the rant today. pretty spot on really. The Bills offense best plays are Allen running like a maniac and throwing passes into 6 inch windows from 25-30 yards away. The best plays for KC are converting 3rd and 7’s to maintain possession and not miss field goals. and the last few years KC has a defense that can be trusted in playoff time especially. -
I heard on radio today, i think Gary Danielson? anyway he said the Bama AD is angry and the SEC has a lot of power. They don’t like having 3 teams while the Big10 has four. He speculates the SEC will demand four teams to be selected in the future and will get their way. He said they would do away with Conference Championship game weekend. Those games will be eliminated. and the SEC and maybe Big10 will have play-in games to determine who the 4th teams will be.

McD stubbornly seemed to agree in his media call today that it’s something “they discussed” today and will learn from. That they needed to keep those 3 timeouts no matter what. He had a tough time articulating his thoughts about this after the game. I’m not even sure he was aware the ball was closer to the 1.5 yard line. which makes a big difference on the tush push. That’s far from automatic as we saw a couple times yesterday.

Crazy that the Bengals kicker pulled a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Nice. Parson got obviously held and they let it go on that td drive.

I noticed it too when Josh was not scrambling or getting some easy yards in the first half. He airmailed one out of bounds when he could’ve easily gotten the first. But really the Bills had no answer for how hard the Rams were gonna come out in a must win game for them. We were still in AFC East champs, snow angel mode. These final games will be interesting since Buffalo may not have anything much to play for (if KC keeps winning). and then they will have to flip the switch to must-win mode in January.

An absolute disaster by the coaches at the end of this game

Brady’s finest moment as a broadcaster was on full display, explaining to the audience and McDermott how those final offensive plays and timeouts needed to be handled. Of course Sean blew it. Brady you could tell was frustrated with him. -
One thing about KC continuing to win and being 12-1 is that one blemish is Josh and the Bills. If they can put a dent into Detroit that’s ballgame for the MVP. Like others said, probably his regardless.

I agree. Josh has been in full stride for several seasons now. every year that goes by he will start losing a tick of speed and prob be a little less durable. It’s just fact when you approach 30. However, like Stafford shows and Brady of course, the early 30’s is where the wisdom comes in. the game is just second nature, the completion% goes up, they can read a defense in one second and hopefully a little more careful in terms of not taking hits. -
Think about it, there was a full six-game stretch to start the season where Mahomes totaled 6 TDs and 8 int’s. Six full games! Then you see the silliness that Allen displayed yesterday in one game.

I still think there’s a real chance KC loses at Pittsburgh and at Denver. But the Bills need to do their part and beat Detroit.

So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14

Some bad calls on both clubs and some really bad non-calls, or ignored stuff. Von really doesn’t get the respect he probably deserves as offensive linemen arms are draped around his neck on a few plays. -

On Cowherd's show, his opening monologue was just 5 minutes of railing on how the Bills (organization, coaches)...are completely wasting Josh Allen's career and greatness. He was borderline angry about it. -

The thing is McDermott, for the final TD it wasn't our best play since it was on the 1.5 yard line. That's a huge difference for the tush push play. They often only get 1 yard on that play which is typically enough. So they didn't really have a plan for when Josh got stuffed and then panicked, called timeout. Clearly they should have done some sort of quick pass or rollout option. Anything to get the clock to stop and then have 2nd down. -
McDermott is on my sh*t list today. I always assume he learns from past mistakes or at least has people smarter than him giving him end of game-clock-timeout advice. I guess not. Why doesn't Andy Reid ever screw this stuff up?!?
-
On his show, Cowherd just absolutely shredding the Bills organization for wasting Josh Allen's talents. Says he is more talented than Mahomes and Kansas City is 14-2 when Mahomes has those Superman games (over 400 yards), Josh Allen is 4-5. He's so fed up with the Bills it's funny.

I do think with the Lions coming off a Win and the Bills coming off a Loss, the Bills are going to really want this one....especially the humble pie McDermott and the D were served up in LA. That has to be corrected, and I think they will do a better job. It remains to be seen if the "beat up" Detroit defense can handle the Bills O. When I've watched Detroit recently their D still looks pretty good and aggressive, even without some important players. Another concern has to do with timing. The Bills landed at 3:45am this morning. The Lions have a nice 10 day break to heal up and for game prep. Plus the Bills have to fly over there (thankfully a very short flight). Advantage Detroit.

I'm just going to try and sit back and enjoy the game. Heck the Lions have an excellent chance to be the NFC Super Bowl rep. This might be as close to a Super Bowl type game as the Bills play in, who knows? Hope not. I said yesterday during the Rams game it felt like a Championship game at times...(late Sunday window, big announcing team, crowd was split in half, electric atmosphere, the Super Bowl was in SoFi Stadium fairly recently so it looked familiar, Allen was going crazy, etc..) Just an entertaining game for the nation to watch.
-
I won't waffle from yesterday morning when i said Healthy. That's even more important now when the 1 seed is looking so far away.
-
I don't feel like looking back but it seems like we lose nearly every big shoot-out game. The type of game where the winner scores in the high 30's or 40's...and the loser is within 6 points. or is it like that because the ONLY way teams can beat Allen when he's in superman mode is by winning a shootout? Maybe I'm just jaded and the Bills win their share. I know Buffalo wins plenty of blowout games by 14+.
-
Bills defense gets a do-over, from one Super Bowl pedigree accurate QB (Stafford) to another QB (Goff) who is super accurate (and been to the SB). We will see what they've learned if anything how to defend this. Because from what we saw yesterday, the Lions offense will be able to take whatever they want from short-medium underneath passes to wide open receivers. Plus, the Detroit RB's and TE are better than the Rams. This is why KC is so good, they don't get gashed by teams like the Bills do.
-
Allen -500 and Barkley +350. We all know Josh should win it. A good performance vs Detroit should seal it, but I do think a loss would leave the door slightly open. Mostly because voters want to see the MVP win in these big late Sunday window national games, not lose them.

The Bills were intoxicated into thinking the tush-push or whatever it’s called was virtually automatic. even though it was stuffed at least a couple times yesterday. The coach panicked and called TO. I feel they should have had a plan for failed push and they didn’t. -
KC goes 3-1 down the stretch they get the 1 seed.
