  1. I'm somewhere between "it's our time" all the way to thinking it will take divine intervention to win a close playoff game at Arrowhead. Trying to enjoy the ride as I did not realistically think they'd be in the AFC Championship game this season.
  2. In an amazing discovery of virulent activity, there are no reported viruses in and around the Kansas city metro area. Luckiest team in history.
  3. I heard Allen’s press conference today. It does sound like he’s fighting a cold. His voice is a bit off.
  4. I remember the week of the first Patriots game, McDermott sounded so sick...and Josh didn't sound good to me either. You gotta be careful with illness. Glad they are still 3.5 days out.
  5. I just want to see KC make the one big mistake towards the end, in a big playoff game....instead of the opponent. It's been almost 3 seasons in a row. They are so due. I don't know if it's a missed or blocked FG?, or some random turnover? or not converting a critical 4th down...but there has to be a time when Kansas City fails in the biggest moment.
  6. I know it's popular to say the conservative approach is to play it safe on O and limit mistakes/turnovers. Punt if you have to and live to play another series. But it sure feels like after the LA Rams and Detroit games, McD and staff sat down and reassessed everything (as he said he would after the loss). It's reasonable to look at the defensive stats in those games and come to the conclusions that McD realized there's no way in hell "we" are winning the AFC or the Super Bowl getting gash on D. In those two games combined they gave up: 86 points 58 First downs allowed 21 for 32 3rd and 4th downs allowed 793 passing yds allowed 185 rushing yds allowed 61 for 89 completions 4 Rushing TD's 7 Passing TD's We just watched Detroit and their high octane offense and leaky banged up defense get boat raced. I think the Bills really studied Andy Reid and the KC style of winning again and decided to commit to it. Since then it's worked well to use the Oline to control the ball and try to hang on to possession. Nothing too dangerous or risky in the passing game. The Ravens stuffed us in the 3rd Qtr and almost blew up the plan.,, Thankfully the D forced 3 turnovers and the big drop. My main concern is that Kansas City's defense is better than ours. I think the offense will do their part this week. We just need one more huge effort from the D to hang on for dear life.. if they can get even one takeaway that would be massive.
  7. I think Lamar is scarier to play against than Patty. It's just rare to hem Lamar in the pocket and sack him like a traditional QB. He runs with ease, throws well on the run, etc.. Hamlin did one helluva job on that one play where he lost possession and then the other sack that forced the Ravens into a FG. Those were game changing. Mahomes is smarter.. just all around smarter and at the end of games, more clutch.
  8. I can't disagree,, but I've always said for the last 40 years or whatever of watching football that the two most important factors in winning an NFL game are: 1) Turnover margin 2) 3rd and 4th-down efficiency You win those two stats you will win the game. But if the teams split those two stats, turnover ratio will usually trump 3rd downs conversions.
  9. Yep. KC rushed the hell out of Stroud and sacked him a bunch including the game clinching 4th and 10 by Karlaftis. The Bills Oline will definitely have to control things in the run game. Too many obvious passing situations like in the 2nd half vs Baltimore won't be good. I know Josh is more capable than Stroud but good teams like the Chiefs can find a way to hem him in.
  10. Ty has the best hands on the team other than Shakir,,, they should use him for sure.
  11. I heard on an NFL show today, Chenal is expected to be the spy on Allen. He is not keeping up with Joshua.
  12. I'm in this camp. There are always guys on other teams that annoy us. What about Tyreek waving bye to Poyer and Hyde on a big TD catch?! Too often in the past we lament that the Bills are a bunch of nice guys and need more edge. And I'm sure they still are nice guys off the field. But players like Hollins and Anderson, Spencer Brown, etc.. they are getting in people's faces and may even cross the line. It got us all the way to the AFC Championship game. Let's go!!
  13. There is such an outcry nationally there will be some kind of over-correction in this game. There prob will be some judgement stuff not called on both teams.
  14. He’s a Bills fan this week.
  15. Haven't see Josh go off script much these past 2 games, they've been very deliberate conservative calls. In high scoring games vs Rams and Detroit it seemed like he was throwing on the run, scrambling all over the place. But of course with that style of play is more chance for turnovers. I wonder what we see Sunday night?
  16. From Warren Sharp football analysis: https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/chiefs-referee-playoffs-penalties-2024-divisional-round/ In their pursuit of being the first team ever to win three straight NFL Championships, the Kansas City Chiefs have played 11 playoff games since 2021. In those 11 games, how many times have the Chiefs had more penalties than their opponents? Zero. In those 11 games, how many times have the Chiefs opponents had more penalties than the Chiefs? Ten. That’s correct, and I triple-checked because it was initially tough to believe when I first heard this stat. 10 games in which opponents had more penalties. 0 games in which the Chiefs had more penalties. I was curious how the Chiefs fared in these metrics in the regular season. If they are avoiding penalties and also drawing them on opponents because they are simply a sound, well coached team, we should see evidence of this in the regular season. Out of 68 regular season games during this sample (since 2021): 27 games the Chiefs had less penalty yardage (39.7%) 38 games the Chiefs had more penalty yardage (55.9%) And then in the playoffs (out of 11 games): 10 games the Chiefs had less penalty yardage (90.9%) 1 game the Chiefs had more penalty yardage (9.1%) In the regular season: 36 games the Chiefs had fewer penalties (52.9%) 25 games the Chiefs had more penalties (36.8%( And then in the playoffs: 10 games the Chiefs had fewer penalties (90.9%) 0 games the Chiefs had more penalties (0.0%)
  17. Kinda weird that the Bills gave up early 7-0 leads to both Denver and Baltimore. If the Bills grab the early lead vs KC i might be nervous about that!
  18. I feel like Our offensive line and RBs are probably the Bills best position groups. They really need to control things out there. KC will try to ball control us to death and then take their shot with Worthy or Kelce. The D is gonna need to hold on for dear life in this game.
  19. Please no more quick sideways passes to the tight ends. That should be Shakir only.
  20. It should be easier to run on the Chiefs than Baltimore. You wouldn’t think so but the Ravens run defense is better and shut us down in the 2nd half.
  21. When’s the last time the Chiefs were the ones to make game killing mistakes that cost them a playoff game? hasn’t been lately as they’ve won a record 8 straight (without missing the playoffs). They are the masters of limiting mistakes and doing anything they need to do, to win, even by a point. and they make all their FGs too which goes under the radar.
  22. I pulled up google maps and was looking at the 1,027 mile drive and then Seatgeek. It’s tempting.
  23. Is he a leader of men? if so he could be decent. If he’s just coordinator they are slamming into the head coach role it won’t work. But if he truly is a solid leader and culture builder, and brings along some of the right guys, he could have a decent future there.
  24. Would you all feel more comfortable if this game was in Orchard Park? or do you believe this is how it’s meant to be. If we’re going to get to the big game, it has to be through Mahomes and Reid at Arrowhead? Ive always felt this version of KC is an excellent road team. Maybe even better on the road than home. I’m ok playing them there. I think our guys will relish it.
  25. Was listening to Mad Dog Russo on Sirius this afternoon. He had a caller with a deep southern accent saying he’s praying that the Bills win. He said he won’t watch the Super Bowl if Kansas City makes it again. It was funny and Russo agreed and says he’s praying with him. People are really sick of the chiefs
