  1. I don't get it... Are you misunderstanding who pays the buyout? The Bills pay for the buyout, reguardless, and then he gets another couple hundred thousand for his position coach, so he will probably make $4,250,000 this coming year, $250,000 of which is paid by whoever his next employer is. He is doing a terrific job disappearing, I think 'ol St. Doug was on to something...
  2. No need- in that trade, we'll give him EJ! Win-win! :-) With SF hiring someone already on the staff, does this appease that OL coach that people around here seemed to like, who reportedly was waiting for the coaching situation to be resolved, since this is a guy he would presumably know? This is the kind of hire that would likely retain some staff, instead of clearing house of his former co-workers...
  3. Similar to Gailey saying that, unlike other places he has been fired from, he will always root for the a Buffalo Bills, I will always root for Chan Gailey. He was a class act, and I'm very glad to see him land on his feet as OC. I don't like how close it is to the Bills, as I will have to root for his failure twice per year, but I'm happy for him.
  4. Over- Marrone looks like he put on about 75lbs, and he was only here for 2 years. Rex signed a 5 year deal, so by pure math, after year 3 he will be over the 100lb mark you challenge... The last 2 years are just gravy... So to speek.
  5. Thank you for clarifying, I thought we were closer to 16 million in cap room, and anticipating Mario's per annum increasing, and I forgot about rollover cap space.
  6. ... Until we float Darius his own $11+ mill... And there we have our $40 Million/yr. D-line. Ok, now we have to pay Gilmore, and Glenn... Gee, I sure wish we had that money back.
  7. Dammit I was just going to post that YouTube video... Hah
  8. I know you guys might have been kidding, but would it be COMPLETELY stupid to transition Fred into a RB coach role? Getting a new coach in wouldn't make the timing ideal, if we had the same coach for like 5 or 6 years, so everything was continuity, that would be more possible, but who else would you trust more to show his position group the right way to do things, and trust to teach the small parts of playing RB successfully like contact balance and falling forward, and pass pro, as Fred? Maybe someday.
  9. I knew about Cutcliff from I believe it was John Murphy or something else on WGR, but he would be intriguing...
  10. While Brown isn't a SURE thing, he is a LB on the bigger side, and got forced into an OLB role this year due to Kiko and Rivers' injuries, and he performed rather well. That doesn't change that his natural, best fit position is on the inside, but he is VERY promising to have the agility and speed to play the outside well while still being a MLB body... I'm not worried about him at all. And, by the way, it looks like our current front office has gotten good at drafting LBs, whether it is a Nix influence, or Whaley from Pittsburgh. Nix drafting Danny Batton, Arthur Moats, and Tank Carder leaves me to HOPE it's Whaley that's the one who is astute at rooting out hidden LB gems.
  11. What are we looking at, like 5 years, $26-30 mil. with like 12 guaranteed? Sounds like competitive, fair numbers to me.
  12. Am I wrong in thinking that the offended team does not get the draft pick that was taken from the offending team, but it just goes up in smoke? I'm relating it back to the 1st rounder the Pats lost for Spygate, no one team got that pick... But perhaps that's because ALLEGEDLY No ONE team was effected by Spygate, but instead several/many?
  13. That game would have been moved whether the game was to be played in a dome, or not... The parking lots, and surrounding roads, were impassible, it makes no difference what condition the playing surface was in.
  14. Especially for the fact that they're the one who pushed him over, in the first place.
  15. Based on the "giver" in this situation, that can best be called a "hoof-y", as those particular animals do not contain hands. As far as the last 15 years goes... http://youtu.be/_yrEiuVVCqM
  16. Funny... Yesterday afternoon, when that joke was going around Twitter...
  17. So Fitzgerald goes to NE, with Josh Gordon and Adrian Peterson, to join Gronk... Right? Bring it in, Cobra Kai.
  18. Or maybe we hold onto our offensive guys like Hackett once Marrone lands somewhere, for ransom, making Marrone give up a 2nd or 3rd to trade for the group of guys he wants... A 2nd for Hackett and Morris... Going into the offseason, those who wanted Hackett and Marrone gone, could you imagine both having them gone, PLUS getting a high draft pick for them? Hah not likely but a cool idea.
  19. I hope they keep every last one of them, and extend them another 2 years each, just to turn the screws on Marrone that NOW we will extend our defensive staff, now that he is gone, haha... But the real point I wanted to get to is, if Marrone gets a HC job somewhere, TECHNICALLY we don't have to let ANY of our assistants go with him to his new job, but in doing so, do we start to look bad, by denying, say, a Pepper Johnson a chance at DC if Marrone offers it to him? If we get in an offensive-minded HC, than I think Hackett might be a goner anyways, as they will want their own guy in here as the OC, so it's fairly likely Hackett reunites with Marrone at his new job... But will the defensive guys follow, too?
  20. We can all hate Brady, and we all do, but don't tell me you wouldn't LOVE to have him playing for us, whether he has 1 year, 2, 3 years, or just 4 games. We need to win now before this defense ages out or just overall loses it's sharp edge, what do we care if he only has a year or two left of high production? I certainly wouldn't mind running off a 10-2 streak from October through December, as they seem to do EVERY YEAR, reguardless of any slow start they may have in September.
  21. I understand the sentiment of wondering whether the efficiency of the offense he coordinated was more his doing, or Peyton's doing, and I happen to share it, to some degree, but we have to consider this: one of the best defenders ever, LT, happened to have a coordinator that was pretty good, in Belicheck. So there has to be an element of getting the most out of a player that has to be accounted for, and not wasting talent that is around you. I would say that Gase has done that... But I still need to see at least 3 or 4 more guys interviewed for the job, and if Gase happens to come out ahead, than so be it- good luck!
  22. You're combining Kyle Shanahan with Brian Schottenheimer- Shanahan never coached the Jets.
  23. Levitate wasn't here last year- he left before the 2013 season. Last season was the Colin Brown and Legursky show. Same results, though.
  24. Guys, you realize that you're likely getting none of these guys that would be better than what we have, as we have, at best, a "middling" HC, on a team that, ownership change aside, has a history of 3-and-outing their head coaches after not showing much. What top college name or established/intriguing up-and-coming position coach would leave their current position that made them look so competent and attractive when they might be thrown out with the bath water after the 2015 season, then be looking for another job as a now 1-time failed OC.
