I understand people who balk at player salaries when being presented with puffed up numbers that include players completing the entire contract and hitting all their bonuses for marginal to average players. But, once the contract numbers are out it's ridiculous to keep parroting the same complaints as before when the information wasn't available. Kroft is on the same pay-as-you-go plan that we have Spencer Long on - we reserve the right to keep him if he's good and can drop him after this year with very few repercussions.

It'd be funny if we announce we've signed Morse after driving the price up a couple mil on Paradis for the Jets.

Forget the talk about Paradis v Morse. If we're in on negotiations for a player vs another team, I want to win every time unless it means we are throwing crazy money around for no reason. For a position as important as C on a rebuilt OLine you would hope that we open up the checkbook.

Who do you guys follow for Buffalo related FA news? I used to have a bunch of guys, but the rumor mill died when Beane came in, now the only leaks I see are from the agents.

We sign Williams at T and Paradis/Morse at C this week and I'll be happy. FA WRs are not good and would all be overpaid; if we pick up a WR it's likely through a trade. I'd like Justin Houston, but can see him signing with the Pats.

So did this really fall apart because AB refused to play here? If so, that's not great for us. I'm happy the trade didn't happen, but it's yet another reminder that we struggle to bring in quality players when they are given a choice. The fact that AB reportedly said he wouldn't report to the team if traded here is not a great thought.

Redskins gonna Redskin. Way to tie up a monster chunk of cap space at a position with players who are going to give you production mildly above a street free agent.
