MMQB: Can Kaepernick play? We're about to find out.
ndirish1978 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like corners will be on an island and we stack the box and leave Zach Brown out there as a spy. -
EXACTLY!!! Every single person in that stadium could humiliate themselves in front of the entire world and I would not care one IOTA as long as we win.

Just checking. Are YOU a master of karate and friendship for everyone?

McCoy asks Bills fans to be respectful of Kaepernick
ndirish1978 replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm more offended by Kaep's being a vegan in Buffalo. "Colin Kaepernick Hates Buffalo Wings, Calls Eating Meat An Abomination" now that's an article title I could be outraged about. -
I'm up for whatever the heck makes him uncomfortable or less focused on the game. Is he afraid of spiders? Let's release 1000 spiders onto the field. I could care less about his political anything. He's a vegan now, I plan on "protesting" him by eating some sausage and peppers and a crapload of wings. Of course I will be doing it from home so no one will notice, but I'll chalk it up as a sweet burn.

What Happens When You Actually Draft a QB Every Year

Well yeah, I guess you could put Geno instead of EJ because he seemed like the consensus top QB in that draft, but some teams will always go their own weird way. -

Nothing wrong with what McCoy asked. Now, if the fans ARE disrespectful and it affects Kaep... I'm ok with whatever messes with the opposing team's QB. This is a football not a camp sing-a-long, I cheer for my team to win, I don't cheer for the team with the nicest players and fans. -
+1. I would just add that AZ and NE were good wins and good teams can have bad games but still find a way to win, like we did with the Rams. Now, we're not a "good team" yet, but it is encouraging that we didn't screw the pooch against LA. Good teams also roll over teams they should beat and don't let them hang around. We will know if we are a good team in a couple of weeks, at the very least this team appears to be more resilient that years past where we would lay down and die at the first sign of trouble.

What Happens When You Actually Draft a QB Every Year
ndirish1978 replied to Tenhigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least he tries to present something substantive. I see you went in the other direction successfully... Incorrect, you cannot draft based on hindsight, you look at the next guy who went and realize this was the next guy up on most people's boards. -
The fact that you don't know Goodwin was a third round pick doesn't do much for the credibility of your opinion.

Where is FireRex and his constituents??
ndirish1978 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like this thread is a bit reactionary. FireRex has done a great job with his game observation posts and I think it's too soon to be calling for anyone to eat crow after 3 wins. I certainly hope the defense continues to tighten up and that Tyrod can show some MUCH NEEDED progression. If we see those two things I would feel a lot better about this team. 4/10 for 22 yards (according to the presser on OBD) in the second half isn't stellar QB play. -
We need a receiver because we need the THREAT of a passing offense. All anyone needs to do is bracket Woods and stack the box and we're pretty much stuck throwing to Clay or no one else.

Lorenzo Alexander proving the Bills were right...
ndirish1978 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Scheme and coaching make a huge difference in player success. Look at how many players switch teams and then their play falls off; read that article by Haynesworth that was posted on the board. If Lorax were suddenly manhandling people whereas he never used to, I would say your suspicions may be founded, but we're talking about a player with a long-term injury (lisfranc) who played at a pretty good level in Washington before his injury and who feels healthy for the first time in a long time and is also coming into a scheme where LBers are put in good positions to make plays. I dunno, I feel like people who are suspicious of his success didn't see him play in Washington. -
Three wins are three wins, but no one should be forming a bandwagon yet. 14-17 is right around where we belong.

Goodwin is no better than a 3rd maybe 4th receiver. I pray Hunter pans out because we have Woods and then no one.

The Player's Tribune: Eric Wood

Searched for this after reading the article while just browsing the website and was thinking about linking it myself; highly recommend it -
Very happy for Aaron Williams
ndirish1978 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He plays with a ton of heart, hard not to like him. He's the one player I actually worry about getting injured for his own good rather than just his availability just cause of how hard he plays -
This is the long and short of it. Reports say the DBs even told the Pats players they didn't care if they ran on their side of the field as long as they stayed on the sidelines but please NOT to be on the field. The Pats, being sicks, decided to endanger the health of DBs who need to be able to warm up and intentionally ran through the field instead of the sidelines. If you don't think it was planned, watch how quickly the coaches showed up, they were watching the whole time.

We needed it but it may bite us

LOL, this is classic. Zero logic, but classic. -
WE offered him that huge contract; dunno why it's his fault that he accepted it and we don't use him that much.

Why do people think the offense will change
ndirish1978 replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think it matters what the offense is doing as long as our D sucks. We could score 100 and still lose with the pass D we have. Also, Lynn directly responds to the question posed by the OP: Q: Rex has said ground-and-pound before. Take us into your offensive philosophy. A: No, I don't know ground-and-pound. To me, if they give you ground-and-pound you ground-and-pound. If they give you pass, you pass. I just want to coach an explosive offense, doing multiple things, balance multiple personnel groupings and just take what they give us. I'm a personnel driven guy. I believe in personnel. Get the ball in the hands of players and let them make the plays because if you do that, they'll make way more plays than we'll ever design. -

Bucky Gleason: Right On the Money
ndirish1978 replied to Keukasmallies's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team lives in a state of denial about its quarterback situation. Why is it we can use 2 first round picks to trade up for a WR but we've never spent whatever it took to draft a top-flight QB?
