He had no control over the stupidity of trolls. Trolls will troll, that's what they do. He DID have control over his reaction and his reaction was ridiculous.

Oooh nice humblebrag while simultaneously calling dissenting opinions idiots. You sound like a real fun person. I'm supposed to feel bad for the millionaire player who wasn't living up to his draft status? Is he somehow the only NFL player who gets trolled? Because I don't see every other NFL player talking crap to the fans. Football isn't some noble calling, it's a distraction, a form of entertainment. Without fans there would be no NFL. Biting the hand that feeds you shows awful judgment and I have no reason to feel sorry for the kid.

He's the poster boy for stupid comments on social media killing goodwill with his home market. This post was almost singlehandedly responsible for people turning on him. Combine that with his fragility and he basically ran himself out of town.

You're not a fan, but you have no idea what his skill set is? Makes perfect sense.

As someone who went to school there for 7 years and has had relatively close contact with the team in the years after I can say that there are maybe a handful of kids who fall under that umbrella; I even tutored some of them. The football team is absolutely part of the school and cheating is not common. Sure, there are some pretty cake classes that they take, like sports management or current jazz (both fun classes), but I studied with those kids and they actually did the work. Unlike many other big D1 schools where football players pledge frats so they live off-campus and walk around like celebrities, we don't have a greek system. Football players live in the dorms with everyone else and aren't inaccessible so it's not as easy for them to get away with cheating or taking illegal benefits. The school is academically competitive and believe me most of those rich kids wouldn't bat an eye to report someone screwing up the curve for a class.

Difference between Jackson and Taylor
ndirish1978 replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't dislike Jackson, my view on him is the same as it is on Allen, Rudolph and to a lesser extent Darnold: there are a lot of things to like, but there are a bunch of issues that are directly related to how they play, be it inaccurate passing or a tendency to turn the ball over. IMO Rosen and Mayfield are a cut above the rest in terms of accuracy and have all the tools that translate to being a good QB in general. That said, Rosen's 2 concussions worry me and there's always the question of whether Mayfield's height will affect him at the next level. There's no surefire way to predict future success, the only thing you can do to maximize the chance you find a franchise QB is to pick someone with as little risk on the field as possible. For that reason and that reason only I think Rosen and Mayfield are the two best QBs in the draft. The other 4 could all be successful, but I would feel most comfortable with someone who I know can play the position at a high level and who I'm not depending on massive growth in order for them to be successful. I think those two have the highest floors. Unlike other years where the safer pick may not have the same ceiling as other QBs, I think Rosen and Mayfield have the same potential as the other four but with less risk. -
You sure? I was watching that too and I could have sworn he said arm strength is average but he has good accuracy on his deep balls. Also said that he puts too much air under his longer throws cause he doesn't have the arm strength to make those throws otherwise.

NFL Combine - Measurements, Times, and Other News

NFL tools? Every announcer today, from former players to the draft analysts to the commentators agreed that Jackson is very exciting and cannot carry a team from the pocket. But sure, let's dissect a couple comments in a thread to derail the truth behind my statement. -

Who said TT? I didn't. I just watched him throw at the combine though and he is not a consistently accurate passer. I saw Rosen and Mayfield and Allen all throw consistently good balls. I saw Jackson throw TWO balls that were so bad Irvin laughed at them and called them turkeys. -
This list is the ultimate form of confirmation bias. You offer these vague and ambiguous categories defined by your unqualified opinion. Then to top it off you make an absolute statement that teams should NEVER trade up. Carson Wentz was a trade up and his was a success, so your premise is immediately disproved, as your absolute statement has already failed.

NFL Combine - Measurements, Times, and Other News

Do you really want a QB whose calling card is his ability with his legs though? I'm not saying he doesn't have an arm, I'm just saying the position is there to pass the ball. Drafting a QB who is this erratic directly affects all these other positions you're paying people to play. Why spend a high draft pick on a WR if the QB can't consistently get them the ball? -

Lamar didn't look great. Threw up some real ducks. This kid should not start immediately. -
They met with tons of QBs already. Is there a reason why you believe this is?

Do you think the Jills will ever come back?

You're pretty terrible at arguing. All you do is whine. -
And he's right

The sleepy lemur is not a real journalist. He is a mouthpiece for the team and his sole job is to lower expectations. Will they trade up for a QB? "I don't know, that could take a 'king's ransom'." Will we sign anyone good in FA? "Cap isn't ideal, probably not, but maybe, blah blah blah." You're better off looking for insight from a magic 8-ball.

He doesn't have a strong arm, which unfortunately is a need in BUF because of the field conditions and he comes from a spread offense where he wasn't required to go through progressions. I'd prefer someone who has a strong arm and has already spent years doing the things required of him at this level rather than trying to learn them on the fly.

His dad is one of the top spinal surgeons in the world, he's already stupid rich.

Cheerleaders and team sponsored dance squads are irrelevant and serve no actual purpose. I support college cheerleading because they actually compete on their own and it's another way for people to get scholarships; they only cheer at games to help justify their scholarships because the people at the top don't view them as the athletes they actually are. Back in the day cheerleader were useful for motivating fans to cheer and hyping up the crowd; jumbo screens do that now and do it way more effectively. So, if they don't serve an actual purpose, what reason do they have for being at games? If we're pairing nonsense with football and justifying it as crowd hyping, why not just hire a bunch of magicians to pull giant "CLAP" signs out of their hats? Why is anyone on this board calling for a return of the Jills? Don't cover your perviness by claiming you enjoy the "dancing." You can see the same quality "dancing" in your average fitness class at a gym. If you claim you like dance, then go see actual dancing, whatever style that may be. Cheerleaders are as relevant to the game today as pay phone banks are needed at a stadium, they are utterly obsolete. -

I want Mayfield or Rosen and really no one else.
