Bears cut Jerrell Freeman LB

Cushing is an injury liability. I'd like to get younger at the position, not older. -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod
ndirish1978 replied to The juice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't move him. I'd draft a QB rd1, keep TT and make him train his successor. A bird in hand... -
Totally agree. I guess my philosophy in drafting QBs is that you are never 100% certain on anyone coming out of college so minimizing risk as much as possible is really the only thing you can do to help improve your odds. Rosen may have the best physical tools, but if your grade on him is even remotely close to Darnold, or Mayfield (might as well throw Allen in there since Manock has him rated higher), then you are probably better served drafting the guy with less questions. Which is probably why Mayock has Rosen #3.

It's ironic, it is not inappropriate. -
So glad OP signed up for a new account to start a duplicate thread.

Ranking of Realistic Veteran QB Options
ndirish1978 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're REALLY reading those tea leaves in a way that benefits your goals rather than what is in the best interest for others. Denver can clear cap space rather easily and in big chunks by ditching Talib and some role players and be fine to sign Cousins. There is also no reason a FA QB wouldn't want to sign for the Jets if they want to play in a big market. Cousins will likely wind up in Denver, they already have two excellent WRs waiting for him. -
Ok. But what I'm saying is that concussions are an issue. Once a player is prone to them he's gonna get more. If you're a rich kid who cares more about quality of life than "legacy" why wouldn't you just say "yep, I'm done, I'd rather life the rest of my life healthy than screw up my brain, peace out."

You're not going to be able to reason with people with this penny-pinching mentality. These are the guys who keep putting pennies in slot machines paying one line and hoping for a miracle. Those machines are amongst the biggest moneymakers in a casino. You get what you pay for. You want a top talent, don't spend 17 years drafting QBs in the 3-5th rds and hoping you were smarter than everyone else and found the next Brady - you take a top guy and take your shot. Still makes me sick that we spent TWO first rounders on a WR who we let walk in free agency and have never bothered to make a move for the most important position on the field. I like Rosen and Mayfield more than anyone else. I'd trade for them

Oh!! Well of course! Did they tell him THIS? Because that's probably a good way to sign him long-term. They didn't think he was worth the money, but them proceeded to pay him the money in back-to-back years? Come on man, where's DC Tom when you need him to chime in.

I dunno why everyone is ripping on this guy. He made a statement, said he heard it first-hand from someone we can identify and has committed himself to being directly linked to the rumor. If it doesn't happen he's a fake and if it happens he deposits a few coins in the bank of trust. You just gonna drop Kristy Swanson in this thread and walk away? The original Buffy? I feel like any thread he gets dropped into should then just be about her.

KC Chiefs maybe to unload Justin Houston
ndirish1978 replied to bkep32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3-4 OLB, would need to be a 4-3 DE and that's really not his thing. Bad fit for him poistion-wise and he's super expensive. Why someone would want to pay 14-15M for a DE and then cry about paying cousin 27M is beyond me. -
Or perhaps because after they jerked him around for 2 seasons they realized he had no intention of signing a long term contract? But you know, go with your narrative.

You know what position can win you 2-3 games singlehandedly? QB?

I think I'd prefer Mayfield, just a gut feeling

PFF 2018 Free Agency Preview: Buffalo Bills
ndirish1978 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact that they have CB as our #1 need and skipped DL completely, which is actually our #2 need reinforces my opinion that PFF sucks. -
Yeah Rosen doesn't want to come here. People tend to view things in a light that confirms their personal feelings. This is a Bills board and most of the people live in NY, so when they hear people speak negatively about the town they think it's illogical and get offended, but weather and being a smaller market matters to people, especially "me first" players whose goal is to become famous. You're entitled to your opinion and that opinion is wrong. This is the mentality that kept us out of the playoffs for 17 years.
