Find it kind of amusing that pretty much no mention of Toronto being a possibility. I'm sure the Bills said they don't want to open up that can of worms again. They've copied a numer of news stories over the years, last year they did one that mimiced, the Paula Dean, earlier this year there was one that mimiced Donald Sterling. Hadn't yet watched last nights.

Back around 2001 or so, believe it was the year the Bill's went 3-13, there was a huge blizzard around Christmas day. Grew Williams was the coach back then I do recall. The team hardly practiced as people couldn't get out. I recall Eric Moulds getting out on a snowmobile. It was the last game of a dismay year, limited practice all week between the holiday and the snow, no one gave them much of a chance, figured they'd just be in a hurry to finish the game so they can head to their winter homes out of the cold. They went to NY the following Sunday, and beat the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets. So it can als obe a rallying point too, will see. Likely Rex will be a rather large snow ball target.

The announcers stated it wrong, he could have declined the penalty, but ewither way Detroit is getting to run another play as it's a dead ball penalty so why not take the 5 yards too.

So if that's true then how can you say the draft was full of stars and none of the others are there yet either. From what 've seen Sammy playing with the worst QB of the star rookie WR's and a rather weak oline, and being nicked up, does indeed look more like a superstar in the making than the others. Will that happen who knows just as you don't know if these others will be just as good.

From everything I read back in August Cleveland was expected to be better than Buffalo. Cleveland is one game better than Buffalo right now, they play in two weeks, lets see where they are then. And I don't think most people expected everyone in that division to be completely erratic like they have been. So if Cleveland does make the playoff,s to me all it means is Pettine went to a better team in a division that no one seems to want to win.

He drafted Manual, signed Orton and Kolb. Expected (can't think of the guys name form last year from Duke) him to improve with a year under his belt, but instead regressed. If you blame a GM for no QB answer, then don't hire anyone for the job as doubt you can find a GM who solved the QB position in 2 years except for Green Bay who went from Farve to Rodgers. Every other team has failed repeatedly in find in the right guy. Same can be said for coaches too for the most part.

You make it sound like every GM in the league has been able to draft successful GB's except us. He's had a plan for QB and for LG, did they work out as well as he expected, no but other moved he's made have worked out better. When you ad dup all the pluses and minuses, there's been more pluses as the roster is much stronger overall now than two years ago. And while agree that QB is the most important one to work out, it's also the one that fails the most for most every team. Back in 2012 I looked at every team since 1995 when Kelly retired how many starting QB's teams had went through and switched to someone else either because the person did terrible or injury and the new guy played better. (believe that was how Edwards first started) Alot of those teams are considered good stable franchises, with solid front offices, but they too couldn't get the right guy either Look at Pitt, they had five, then in 2002, Big Ben came along and none since, but if they hadn't found him, likely they'd have been through a good ten or so by now too. Packers had two, Farve to Rodgers, NE Bledsoe to Brady and one year of Cassell when Brady got hurt. Once the Colts got Manning they were all set. Giants had six between 1995 and 2004, then one since Eli. Point is don't think you should judge a GM's success by whether he found a good QB as then they all should be fired. So they have a talented roster, but yet you want to fire the GM and replace him with whom?? That sounds real smart!! What makes you think you'll find someone better, the likelyhood is low just based on how many lousy teams there are in football. Coaching staff I'd agree with firing, but Brandon and Whaley I hope stay. RB isn't involved with football decisions anymore and even when he was involved with football decisions, I don't beliive he really was, likely he was more rubber stamping things that the football people wanted. That in itself may have been a problem, but don't blame him for that, blame RW fand Marvor putting him in that position. If Whaley does get fired, he'll be hired by some other team real fast and likely RB will be working in the NFL office.

While we're at it here's another one, lets start firing camera men who don't get the angles right that would lead to all reviews being ruled in the favor of the Bill's!

So where are these guys today?? Yeah is great that Davis is showing flashes, but so did Losman and Edwards, and what good did it do. There are often rookies that maybe have some type of "it" factor that works for around a year, then reality sets in. Nick Foles may be the latest victom of this, I say may as still unknown whether he will get it back or not. When a guy has the "it" factor for around five years running, then it says something. Less than that not sure it means anything more than what Manual has shown.

Unless he's in the last year oif his contract which is unlikely since he was just named OC this season, he's not likely going anywhere unless it's as a promotion to HC. So how exactly is Reich much different than Marrone was other than he was the QB for the Comeback game?? He's a hot candidate, like Marrone was, had one year of success as the OC with Phillip Rivers as QB and had a couple years of success as QB coach prior. I agree he likely will become one of the next bunch of coordinators promoted to HC, but to me it's no stronger of a higher than Marrone was two seasons back with just as much likelyhood for sucess or failure. The only difference is Reich is unknown and no one likes Marrone.

yes he did, though not sure I'd call it big time. Welcome to the club. Drafting QB's is probably the position in all of football with the least sucess. That's the problem in football there are 32 teams in the league and around a dozen really top level QB's. So you take chances on guys, cross your fingers and hope they work out. If not you start again, just like everyone else does. Every team and GM in the league has failed repeatedly to draft a great QB.

I think it's a case or Orton having better chemistry with Hogen, so only a certain number of snaps to go around. Likely Williams plays next week if Goodwin is out. And BTW, I do agree with others, Goodwin can't stay healthy to bother keeping around

I'd say Buffalo only because there are more good teams in north for Cleveland to battle. In the east only elite team is NE and starting to see chinks there too. Smoke and mirrors will only last so long there. Miami may be good, but not great.

There are three types of coaches GM, you fill in the blank around today, there are successful ones currently employed by some team and when their contract is due to expire, they sign a new one prior. There are unemployed ones for a reason, and the third category are ones that some teram takes a chance on the new guy and promote him. In some cases it works out, more often it doesn't as whatever it might be coaches, GM, players there are more failures than successes. Blaming him and wanting to fire him for a bad head coach hire or bad QB pick is just plain stupid. If the number of bad ones hits a half dozen or so then you have a good, point, until then bad picks are part of the job

I think it may more be due to the fact that for the first month Orton was here he was working wit hthe 2nd team as was Hogan so they built up some chemistry. I recal lit was the same whe nFitz took over he had chemistry with Stevie as Stevie was a backup at that point too.

That was a very good one Didn't see that one, as an old Islander fan woill haveto watch that one. I lived through many of those nights in the Big East, I recall the sweater game,I can tell you where I was when Pearl half court shot to beat BC. The 30 for 30 on the Big East brought a tear to my ear watching it recalling all the memories.

That's true, thinking some more about the ones I've watch I believe you are correct. I guess I better get busy! And yes I agree, most are very good. I just watched When the Garden was Eden. That and Requiem of the Big East were two of my favorites.

It kind of surprises me ESPN hasn't yet done a 30 For 30 film on the Bills 4 Super Bowls in a row. Yeah they didn't win any but no other team has ever come close. When you look at some of the topics they have done shows on it's not like it's only the top stories in sports, they've done shows on surfers, BMX drivers, etc, some people I've never even heard of. I'd think the Bills would be a better story than some of these others??

Well if you're goigt to blame the Bills front office for getting it wrong a QB, you probably need to blast every other team too as they all get it wrong. If the Bills front office were to draft five more first round QB's over the next ten years and they all failed, they'd be doing about average. So just curious, where exactly do you think you're going to find a GM who'll do a better job than Doug Whaley? And please don't suggest 70 YO Bill Pollion. I wouldn't even mind him so much if the son wouldn't come with him. I'll promise you one thing if the Bill's did dump Whaley, he's be scooped up very quickly.
