  1. Totally agree. Look at how much the franchise QB's change too. Last summer everyone was talking how this past years draft class was going to be great for QB's . By the time the college season ended, not so good. In addition, unless EJ looks completely, kind of like a couple of preseason games bad, you likely won't give up on a #1 draft pick after two seasons. If EJ sucks this season, they will can Hackett, blame it on him bring in a new OC who will play better to EJ's strengths, at least on paper. They may bring Orton back or someone else of similar experience and have a competition in camp. As bad as EJ could look, just as they didn't want a competition last year the same thing would happen if they did have a #1 pick that they'd use on a QB. Likely with two years under his belt even bad years, he's still beat out the rookie.
  2. I'd ljust like to see them come out passing more than running into the middle with Spiller as that's not his strength
  3. Just realized I was wearing the wrong Bill's shirt, so changed to the one I wore the past two weeks that they won.
  4. Last week they gave a ball to Mary Wilson, this week they should give one to Ralph that is displayed in a showcase in One Bills Drive!!
  5. I cringed watching the replay
  6. Bryce Brown is here for next year when Spiller leaves
  7. Unless you know there are a minimum of 8 other no votes so your vote of "No" matters, why would anyone vote "No" All you're doing is making a potential enemy down the road when you might need TP's vote on something else. These owners aren't a bunch of kids voting. They are professionals ( I know JJ is a stretch there) who don't do things for spite and continue to be successful.
  8. It's mostly if not all due to finance committee meeting next week.
  9. It wouldn't shock me to see these two guys have now become "trust babies" thanks to RW. Essentionally think of it as a pension. So who exactly are you suggesting for GM. Where are all these proven names flying around. Matt Millon is a big name and he's available. The only big name available GM's are guys out of football. Same goes for coaches. Everyone should stop this facination with Bill Cowler and similar names. Whaley is exactly the kind of guy you want as GM, a young guy who has made more good moves than bad in the past two seasons. With TP owning two teams, he likely will need a strong active president to run things as he won't likely have the time to follow up on all the details. I can't think of a better person for that role than Russ. I don't follow the Sabres enough to know, but likely will need a similar person there too if he doesn't already have one in place.
  10. I don't think the NFLPA is dumb enough to try to defend Rice. Right now Roger is getting skewered for this entire thing left and right. Why would the NFLPA want to share the blame with Roger and be dragged down with him, particularly when so many players came out and blasted Rice too. Could be players have threatened to quit the union if it tries to defend him much.
  11. Unless there were 10 likely people to vote no, there's no point in it other than to piss off the new owner when you never down the road, you may need his vote on something. As was pointed out in other threads, you don't get to be where these guys are and do things out of spite or pettiness. Actually wouldn't even be surprised to hear that JJ and TP have had their paths cross a fair amount as both are in similar businesses.
  12. Would be nice at Sundays game if they played nothing but Bon Jovi music
  13. I heard it the other way, that he plans to move Toronto to Buffalo and then move the Maple Leafs down to the AHL as the Sabres farm team.
  14. TRue forgot about Benson. So there is one out there at least.
  15. OK, so how did that work out when they are in different cities?? Maybe Seatle and Portland were considered close enough and no other competing teams in Portland. But St Louis and Denver?? How's that work?
  16. So I know there's been pages of threads/jokes about whether TP can own the Sabres and the Bill's. Not that I feel this would make any difference, but just curious and got me thinking about it, does any NFL owner also own another sports team? What about other sports?? Seems there are some dual hockey-basketball owners out there, pretty certain the Rangers and Knick's are still both owned by MSG, but any others? What about in baseball or football? Of the top of my head, can't think of any?
  17. But what about Dinsaur BBQ? I no longer live in wester nNY, that is one place I do miss!
  18. Gee I though this was a thread about some new Bar-B-Que joint that opened!
  19. Typically choose RB's with your first and maybe even second pick unless you're drafting late in 1st round, then go either for a great QB or WR You know it's funny you mention that as I was drafting my team last week, I was getting nervous as I seemed to be selecting a high percentage of white guys.
  20. So two good years out of five. What he did in Seattle may prove he was very good coach, but unless it was done in Buffalo, it has no bearing IMO of whether he makes the wall or not. If he had four or five of ten good years, I'd say yes, but reallty don't think he was here long enough
  21. So are you saying they shouldn't re-signed Carpenter and stuck with Hopkins who BTW has never kicked at all in a regular season game? Or do you blame the FO for drafting Hopkins knowing full well he was going to get hurt in training camp? Cohen has been on like six teams in three years, do you think there may be a reason for that? And he's trying to crack one of the deepest best positions on the roster. But hey don't let facts get in the way of bashing the FO.
  22. Knox was here what three or four years?? Yes they made the playoffs some, but not here long enough IMO to make the wall
  23. The only issue I have with him, seem to recall him him getting a number of holding calls against him at rather critical times. If it were Chandler who's considered an average blocker I'd say OK fine, but for the guy who's on the team for his blocking abilities seemed to get called too often.
