  1. I keep waiting to here they trade CJ in the next month, than Brown will come off the redshirt list. But I agree completly wih the concept that he's being redshirted right now.
  2. Been discussed here many times, think he was good buddies with the OC or someone in San Diego, he wanted out. Typically whenever a new coach comes in there are a handful of coaches you show the door, there may be a couple toy totally want to keep, others like Joe D you offer him a job to stay, but give them the option to leave if they choose. He chose to follow his friend.
  3. The only way I'd consider hiring Polian is that under no circumstances will we hire your son. That likely would end all conversations with him. People fault Marrone for hiring an alleged friend though often coaching frends are friends they've coached with whom they felt were good coaches. Hiring your son is pure nepotism and was terrible. Seemed he learned all of Dads bad habits, but very few of his good ones.
  4. Well I did go to the beach afterwards, at least something to enjoy today!
  5. Can you fix accuracy, probably not? But if it's a case of he's thinking to much trying to make the perfect pass and in so doing, the more he tries the worse it gets, then maybe it could improve if it starts to become second nature where he doesn't need to think about it. Up until today I thought there was more hope for EJ, but today I have to say his lack of accuracy likely cost us the game. If even half the passes he made were on target, liklely drives would have continued and we win the game. Per my point above, could it happen, maybe but feeling less likely that it will.
  6. If the rain finally stops and hits 80 like they are predicting, go to the beach afterwards. Win or lose hopefully! And just to clarify, I meant hopefully the weather clears, not hopefully they lose!
  7. So if we had brought in more competition EJ would be playing better now?? Wow! What did Brady have for competition his first year, Bledsoe was out hurt, he had none the remainder of that year, by the next year they traded him, Brady turned out OK. Either he has drive or not, but whether they had created a more legit training camp battle, likely would make no difference in the outcome. Either you have the drive or you don't, nothing is going to change it.
  8. One of the comments on Wilson is he's real good a sliding due to his baseball background.
  9. Just curious, so what big name coaches have gone to a second team and been highly successful?? Shanny, that worked out well! Marty, he's still available, We certainly know Cowler is available, for close to ten years now. My thought is if you're going to pay big bucks to hire some successful former coach, he better do real well, like deep into the playoffs well. And if he's really that good, why did the other team dump him? Or it's some coach who has been out of football for like five or ten years and the longer he stays out of football, the better he becomes. I think the Bills made the right type of move in signing Marrone, will he specifically work out, who knows, but going after a guy like that is better than going after some re-tread. You have to ask why would a highly successful coach be available? Some of these "successful coaches follow the path of a John Gruden, coach who built a winning program gets fired, new guy comes in and inherits a pretty good team. He wins it all, but over the next few years he now builds his own team and fails and eventually gets fired. But everyone thinks he great due to the one time he won. Really, can you explain what the signs were that make it pretty clear?? Obviously you must be able to see things much more clearly than the rest of us as I haven't seen or heard anything to support that other than pure speculation. Your argument that he needs to learn from his mistake, OK, Darcy was there many years before he took over and the team was already floundering. But Whaley is only been the GM for two years, and more of his moves have been successful than failures so don't see any argument that he's already had too much time. If he totally fails on EJ, OK, welcome to the club as there are many more 1st round failures at QB than successes. You go back and try another one. Looking around the league, the odds a better that he never finds that true franchise guy, at best he may get a guy who looks good for a few years, like a Cutler type.
  10. Not saying EJ played well, but I feel a bigger problem yesterday was the defense, between penalties and not being able ot get of fthe field.
  11. Totally agree. Look at how much the franchise QB's change too. Last summer everyone was talking how this past years draft class was going to be great for QB's . By the time the college season ended, not so good. In addition, unless EJ looks completely, kind of like a couple of preseason games bad, you likely won't give up on a #1 draft pick after two seasons. If EJ sucks this season, they will can Hackett, blame it on him bring in a new OC who will play better to EJ's strengths, at least on paper. They may bring Orton back or someone else of similar experience and have a competition in camp. As bad as EJ could look, just as they didn't want a competition last year the same thing would happen if they did have a #1 pick that they'd use on a QB. Likely with two years under his belt even bad years, he's still beat out the rookie.
  12. I'd ljust like to see them come out passing more than running into the middle with Spiller as that's not his strength
  13. Just realized I was wearing the wrong Bill's shirt, so changed to the one I wore the past two weeks that they won.
  14. Last week they gave a ball to Mary Wilson, this week they should give one to Ralph that is displayed in a showcase in One Bills Drive!!
  15. I cringed watching the replay
  16. Bryce Brown is here for next year when Spiller leaves
  17. Unless you know there are a minimum of 8 other no votes so your vote of "No" matters, why would anyone vote "No" All you're doing is making a potential enemy down the road when you might need TP's vote on something else. These owners aren't a bunch of kids voting. They are professionals ( I know JJ is a stretch there) who don't do things for spite and continue to be successful.
  18. It's mostly if not all due to finance committee meeting next week.
  19. It wouldn't shock me to see these two guys have now become "trust babies" thanks to RW. Essentionally think of it as a pension. So who exactly are you suggesting for GM. Where are all these proven names flying around. Matt Millon is a big name and he's available. The only big name available GM's are guys out of football. Same goes for coaches. Everyone should stop this facination with Bill Cowler and similar names. Whaley is exactly the kind of guy you want as GM, a young guy who has made more good moves than bad in the past two seasons. With TP owning two teams, he likely will need a strong active president to run things as he won't likely have the time to follow up on all the details. I can't think of a better person for that role than Russ. I don't follow the Sabres enough to know, but likely will need a similar person there too if he doesn't already have one in place.
  20. I don't think the NFLPA is dumb enough to try to defend Rice. Right now Roger is getting skewered for this entire thing left and right. Why would the NFLPA want to share the blame with Roger and be dragged down with him, particularly when so many players came out and blasted Rice too. Could be players have threatened to quit the union if it tries to defend him much.
  21. Unless there were 10 likely people to vote no, there's no point in it other than to piss off the new owner when you never down the road, you may need his vote on something. As was pointed out in other threads, you don't get to be where these guys are and do things out of spite or pettiness. Actually wouldn't even be surprised to hear that JJ and TP have had their paths cross a fair amount as both are in similar businesses.
  22. Would be nice at Sundays game if they played nothing but Bon Jovi music
  23. I heard it the other way, that he plans to move Toronto to Buffalo and then move the Maple Leafs down to the AHL as the Sabres farm team.
  24. TRue forgot about Benson. So there is one out there at least.
