  1. They also have a rookie who's started the last two games, by next seaosn may be fine. So you may need one guard. If Williams comes back soon thta may take care of the other side too if they decide to flip them.
  2. I keep hoping to wake up[ one morning to hear he was traded for a 2nd and 4th. If better than that even better.
  3. I'm hoping it was a case of it took Orton the 1st half to get back into the flow of things. Hopefully he'll start out strong next week with another week under his belt too of practice with the 1st team. Plus one more week of experience for the two O-line rookies.
  4. Read the article about TP being the 4th wealthiest owner. Anyone have any idea where RW would have fell on the list?
  5. I never heard anywhere that Brandon was a trustee. And for certain trustees do not automatically get a % of the trust. If they are paid to be the trustee they can be paid a fee. usually in the 1 to 2% range though I'd imagine in this case all the trustees are also benefactors but Russ is not a trustee, though he may be a small benefactor. And BTW executors don't get part of the trust or will either. Again they can be paid a fee, but that's it.
  6. People connect Littman in particulars refusal to pay big $$ in the past to many players leaving or new ones not coming which is likely correct to some level. That being said, he was just following RW's orders, so if TP now told him or Overdolf to spend 25% more, I'm sure they would. He may tell him that his ROI is not going to be very good, but still would execute the plan he's being told to carry out. Having said that I do think they will both follow Mary out the door by years end. I wonder if Littman is even getting money from RW's trust. It wouldn't surprise me if Littmann, Overdolf and even Russ B all become "trust babies" to some level. Enough to retire on, maybe not, but help soften the blow. All three Russ certainly less than the other two, have all been loyal to RW for a long time. Wouldn't surpise me if he rewards them for that service.
  7. What about Overdolf, isn't he also a Wilson guy? I was surprised to see Littman is only in his late 50's as I expected him to be 10 years older or so. Or was it Overdolf?? One of them was only in late 50's
  8. I've always said I'd be willing make 32 bets that the QB for that team in less than 3 years will be labeled a bust. And I'd throw Rogers, Manning, Brady etc, in there, sure I'll lose on those, but there are more failures than success at QB so easy to claim any QB will fail and you can look real smart as more than half do fail.
  9. I'm torn re Sunday nights game. I'd like to see Cincy win, but on the other hand, can't see a team like NE losing three in a row. If they lose Sunday, the following week becomes a must win game for them, and my experiences have been that whenever a team is in a must win game where one more lose will knock them so far back they're done for the season, that team will find a way to win. In spite of everything, they still do seem to have too much talent to be dead this early in the season, but maybe they really don't have the talent anymore. We shall see.
  10. Well at least it's a little earlier this year. Not as early as it used to be, but better than last year.
  11. I recall when Patrick Ewing graduated from Georgetown, the guy could hardly speak. 20 years later was amazed at the difference.
  12. The fact that there is even an argument about how much power Russ has by a bunch of people who know nothing about what is really going on means nothing!
  13. I think people are turned off by the sound of Collinsworth's voice and just go from there to find other things to not like about him. I think he's good.
  14. It was meant as a joke. The fact that Brady was benched last night once the game was out of hand technically made my comment correct. I expected some people to think it was serious, but can't believe not one person got it. Guess the people here are all wound a little too tight or are the most gullible bunch all in one place. I guess in the future I'll have to print in big letters JOKE
  15. Tom Brady. One benched QB for another seems like a fair trade to me!!
  16. I keep waiting to here they trade CJ in the next month, than Brown will come off the redshirt list. But I agree completly wih the concept that he's being redshirted right now.
  17. Been discussed here many times, think he was good buddies with the OC or someone in San Diego, he wanted out. Typically whenever a new coach comes in there are a handful of coaches you show the door, there may be a couple toy totally want to keep, others like Joe D you offer him a job to stay, but give them the option to leave if they choose. He chose to follow his friend.
  18. The only way I'd consider hiring Polian is that under no circumstances will we hire your son. That likely would end all conversations with him. People fault Marrone for hiring an alleged friend though often coaching frends are friends they've coached with whom they felt were good coaches. Hiring your son is pure nepotism and was terrible. Seemed he learned all of Dads bad habits, but very few of his good ones.
  19. Well I did go to the beach afterwards, at least something to enjoy today!
  20. Can you fix accuracy, probably not? But if it's a case of he's thinking to much trying to make the perfect pass and in so doing, the more he tries the worse it gets, then maybe it could improve if it starts to become second nature where he doesn't need to think about it. Up until today I thought there was more hope for EJ, but today I have to say his lack of accuracy likely cost us the game. If even half the passes he made were on target, liklely drives would have continued and we win the game. Per my point above, could it happen, maybe but feeling less likely that it will.
  21. If the rain finally stops and hits 80 like they are predicting, go to the beach afterwards. Win or lose hopefully! And just to clarify, I meant hopefully the weather clears, not hopefully they lose!
  22. So if we had brought in more competition EJ would be playing better now?? Wow! What did Brady have for competition his first year, Bledsoe was out hurt, he had none the remainder of that year, by the next year they traded him, Brady turned out OK. Either he has drive or not, but whether they had created a more legit training camp battle, likely would make no difference in the outcome. Either you have the drive or you don't, nothing is going to change it.
  23. One of the comments on Wilson is he's real good a sliding due to his baseball background.
  24. Just curious, so what big name coaches have gone to a second team and been highly successful?? Shanny, that worked out well! Marty, he's still available, We certainly know Cowler is available, for close to ten years now. My thought is if you're going to pay big bucks to hire some successful former coach, he better do real well, like deep into the playoffs well. And if he's really that good, why did the other team dump him? Or it's some coach who has been out of football for like five or ten years and the longer he stays out of football, the better he becomes. I think the Bills made the right type of move in signing Marrone, will he specifically work out, who knows, but going after a guy like that is better than going after some re-tread. You have to ask why would a highly successful coach be available? Some of these "successful coaches follow the path of a John Gruden, coach who built a winning program gets fired, new guy comes in and inherits a pretty good team. He wins it all, but over the next few years he now builds his own team and fails and eventually gets fired. But everyone thinks he great due to the one time he won. Really, can you explain what the signs were that make it pretty clear?? Obviously you must be able to see things much more clearly than the rest of us as I haven't seen or heard anything to support that other than pure speculation. Your argument that he needs to learn from his mistake, OK, Darcy was there many years before he took over and the team was already floundering. But Whaley is only been the GM for two years, and more of his moves have been successful than failures so don't see any argument that he's already had too much time. If he totally fails on EJ, OK, welcome to the club as there are many more 1st round failures at QB than successes. You go back and try another one. Looking around the league, the odds a better that he never finds that true franchise guy, at best he may get a guy who looks good for a few years, like a Cutler type.
  25. Not saying EJ played well, but I feel a bigger problem yesterday was the defense, between penalties and not being able ot get of fthe field.
