If there was time for the coaches to run another 100 plays with the backups I will guarantee you they would use that additional time with the starters instead for more practice And certainly the Bills are not unique in thought process either, every team in the league would do the same. When you add in the limitations for practice it makes it worse. The extra time the QB coach spends with EJ,is that now less time he has to work with Orton? I've read/heard that in a typical NFL work week, the back up QB gets around a half dozen snaps with the first team offense. And that statement was made prior to the latest CBA which further limits overall time, so may even be less. For the same reason I always laugh at these posts from people who state the Bill's should draft a QB every year. Well then all you'll have is a bunch of inexperienced QB's who got zero playing time and never got better.

You could easily put Vinny Testiverdi(sp) in the same category. He never won a Super Bowl, but certainly his best days were long after being drafted by Tampa. On the other hand while I'm not saying he's anywhere near terrible, both those guys did have better physical tools. Seemed their problems may have been more on the mental side of the game. Don't think that's ever been Orton's problem, in his case may be more questionable skills.

Here's my pet peeve, A D-lineman jumps the count and is offsides, the O lineman though, maybe never saw the guy jump early or instincts take over so to prevent a sack hold the guy and it ends up off-setting penalties and replay the down. Somehow that just doesn't sound fair to me as the offisdes which occurred first likely caused the o-lineman to hold.

Not saying the draft was in any way good, but when you consider that the average NFL career is 3.X years, if it takes four years afterwards to determine that the draft wasn't good, it may not be such a terrible thing definitely not the worst ever.

If he had to play he could, but maybe with on 1.5 arms, so they don't want anyone to know he has any type of injury. No knowledge about it, just a thought as to what the reason behind this could be going on. If that is the case, could still make the argument to cut him or IR him and bring in someone else. Maybe that will happen at the bye.
