I think your logic is a bit of a stretch. IMO the reason they went with the receivers they did and not play say a Duke more, or draft a WR last year is they knew Josh is still learning and didn't want to burden him with someone else who is lacking experience too and may add to confusion for Josh. I think that may also be the reaso nthey stuck wih Foster as long as they did as he and Allen had some chemistry for the year prior.

What Are We Going To Do for Backup QB Next Year?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would you prefer Nick Mullens or Matt Moore? They are the backups for the Chiefs and 49er's. Do you think either of those teams would have made the SB playing their backup? How many teams wouldn't be in big trouble if they needed to rely on their backup for more than a week or two? Matt Moore certainly has more experience than Barkley, but not sure how much was good. On top of that Barkley played one game with mostly 2nd and 3rd stringers and a very stripped down game plan. If they get someone else, great, but not anything near the top of their priority list. Buffalo isn't a desired place to come as you know barring injury Allen is the starter all year so if you want to have the opportunity to start, it's not here. Where as this past year, Fitz and Tannerhill went to places that had starters who were on somewhat shaky ground so they knew they may get a chance to take over and they did. Can see a guy like a Dalton, Winston, Cam, Flacco, etc if any are cut looking for places like the Tenn and Miami 's of this year. -
Jaguars Give Up 2 home games next year

I spoke with all three, they are not happy. On the other hand, if the fan base was really buying tickets like crazy, would they have ever moved any games to begin with? -
Free Agency - March 18 - Who do you want?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL Your math works out fine as long as all "play makers" you want to sign will agree to one year contracts. If not you're saving $16 mil this year and instead paying better players this season. But what about what you pay them in future years and at the same time, need to play White, Milano, Allen, Edwards Dawkins just to name a few that are all on rookie contracts. Maybe in Madden your concept works. -
Greg Olsen visiting Bills, Redskins, Seahawks

Article in the Athletic the other day about the Bills TE's. Talked about bringing in Olson, but thought it only makes sense as long as it doesn't in any way slow down Knox's development. He acknowledged the drops but also talked about how few TE's in the league have the over all skill set Knox provides, also stated Knox is ranked 3rd in the league in yards after the catch for TE's. Also stated highly unlikely the Bills would go after any TE for more than a one year deal so that leaves out the Hooper's of the world. -
Yeah I looked for him too. Not sure everyone was there though either. Yes he was there, didn't see him the first look at the QB's 2nd time did see him. He kind of looked the smallest of them all.

When you mention "Billionaire greed," are you referring to the owners only or the owners plus the players? The players have to agree to it, so it's also greed on their part as they are getting something in return, more money among other things they want. So if both sides are happy, why shouldn't the fans get the enjoyment of an extra week of meaningful games. Richard Sherman can talk all he wants but ultimately it's something the majority of the players want, more money, to get that they are giving something in return. Do wish the article stated what the "10 things" are the players are getting in return, or at least what they are rumored to be.

Jordan Reed (worth a shot?)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Today's edition of the Athletic had a review of the TE's on the roster. One of the things stressed more than one time in his write up (which I agree with )was don't make nay moves that would reduce the snaps Knox is one the field for. While he acknowledged the drops being an issue that needs to improve, the article stated that he has the skill set very few TE's in the league have and he needs to plays as much as possible to further develop. Think it said he is in the top three in yards after the catch of all TE's league wide. So don't make moves that would reduce his snap count which makes alot of sense. -
Tre'Davious White... Nazi Hunter?

Don't forget that ole Adolf is a big Bills fan! -
LOL So you don't know what he has left in the tank, but dump Kroft for Olsen?? That sounds like a well thought out plan! Did Kroft live up to his contract, no certainly not, but when you consider he was only active for half the games due to injury, and by then was relegated to 2nd string I think he warrants another year as opposed to bringing in a guy who you don't know if he has anything left. They may end up cutting Kroft, that's fine, but when you want to cut him for a guy who's ready to retire that borders on insanity.

Texans name Bill O’Brien as GM
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm happy for him!! Well actually happy as a Bills fan as good chance they will be going down in flames with him running the show. No 1st round pick this year I believe and also traded away another pick too?? -
LeSean McCoy wants to retire an Eagle

Well he may have been better than Singletary 4 weeks or so into training camp, but by Oct or so, no he likely wasn't. -
I just went back and googled 2017 pre-draft QB rating, one site listed him as 2nd rounder, future starter, another stated "moved up to 1st round, but calculated risk, anything but a sure thing" Another site listed him as 6th best a3rd to 4th rounder (same list ranked Peterman #10 BTW) Most all had Trubisky and Watson ranked higher, with Trubisky rated #1. Another site stated 2017 QB class lacks elite talent. Peterman was ranked 4th BTW and the most under rated right behind Mahomes at 3 who was listed as boom or bust If he had gone to Buffalo with the WR's we've had, poor line play to think he'd be looking anything close to amazing is pretty crazy. After three years, we still don't have an offense anywhere close to KC and not faulting the team for that. Granted we wouldn't had had to use the picks to move up, (though a couple of those picks came from KC in the trade) so may have been further along than we actually are in the rebuild, but highly doubt he'd have looked anything close to amazing yet. There's a much better chance we'd be talking about him being a bust than anything great at least after year #2. Maybe this past year would have started to see promise.

And a TD reception!!

One thought I had on the O-line is: Close to the last half of the season Ford played full time at RT once Ty went down. He went up against Denver, Dallas, Balt, Pitt, NE, and Jet's all good defenses. For a rookie, I think he held his own. Could someone else a more experienced vet like a Ty have played better, yes, but he wasn't terrible either. If they re-sign Spain, that tells me they are planning to leave Ford at RT. That's fine, give him another year and lets see how he does, does he improve more to the point he's a good to very good RT, if so leave him there. If not next year Feliciano's contract is up so then move Ford to guard. In parallel this year maybe in the 3rd or 4th round draft a guard, he could either take over next season for Feliciano at guard or of if you move Ford inside, he becomes somewhat experience depth the following year. If you do move Ford inside, then either sign or draft a RT.
