  1. I've told you this once before and I'll say it again, you're awful smart for someone who's Dopey!
  2. It's more than just temper tantrums, it's because we did kind of a half a****** attempt at it overall excluding a few areas. Admittedly because they didn't want to upset certain people.
  3. Agree the bubble concept, think is the only chance you have of making it work. Having said that can't imagine the players agreeing to a bubble and even if they did getting it to actually work for that amount of time. In the case of the NBA, they first went to Orlando 2 to 3 weeks ago. By Sept 11th 3 days after the 1st week of NFL games, they will be down to only 4 teams left, overall about 3 to 4 weeks more time than the NFL training camp. That's about the same number of people on one NFL roster.
  4. In a way the blame should go to Whaley and Rex for drafting him. You need a front office who looks more for the players with passion and character and drafts them over ones with the most talent. In the long run, those usually end up having a better career than the most talented ones do. (other than at contract time)
  5. I recall when the Bills drafted Willis McGahee, comment was made by some writer(s) that using a 1st round pick on a guy that won't play for a year mean Greg Williams will be gone as their record won't improve much so he'll be fired and it did happen. See a similar thing here, these 1st round picks they just got will be a big help for the Jets next HC. In this case a little different as Gase maybe wanted him gone or at the least helped create a very bad situation with the team so he's part to blame.
  6. So I gave you a thumbs up, but this is sort of a double negative (had to read it 3 times) so wasn't absolutely certain if I'm in total agreement or dis-agreement with you. Think I'm in agreement, so gave it to you. LOL!
  7. It could be 100% of the issue was QB and with Wilson everyone else would have looked better. I've always said more often front offices and coaches look good because they got lucky and drafted/signed the right QB. For the same reasons if Josh Allen does end up a failure, I wouldn't even think if getting rid of Beane or McD as getting the right QB is more luck than anything. 32 teams passed on Wilson twice and maybe half a 3rd time including the greatest of all time BB, teams passed5 times on Brady. Just seems for all the scouting done, there's still a large amount they get all wrong.
  8. I'm not so sure about that as even with Wilson they likely would have had a hard time surrounding him with talent. Could see Wilson too once his rookie contract was up saying, nice knowing you guys and bolting. Yes we could have franchised him, but only so long before it got too costly, or some other team made a big trade offer for him. Not sure that would have happened either as with a weak team around him Wilson may not have looked as good as he has to attract any big offers. Bottom line IMO, as you said with Nix and Whaley making the choices, we still may have had an overall mess, maybe a little better, repeated 8-8 seasons which could sneak into playoff some years, but also would have been strong enough to not get as good draft picks either.
  9. Can't argue too much with the rating except for the draft part. I think they've drafted well. Maybe Allen makes a big jump this year, but based on past play, maybe 26 is a little low, but not crazy low either. Seems many other rating are around there too. Hard to predict out more than one year so stating what will happen in 3 years is kind of useless, but of the teams ahead, can't see Brady, Rivers, or Brees still being anywhere near the top of their game. Will be interestign to see how Brady does play as likely has one of the best set of play makers around him in a long time. The limited off-season likely will have hurt him too.
  10. I didn't vote as was looking for a 4th choice that states something along the lines of: "Yes it will happen and will start on time, but will be full of bumps and detours and key players missing games, maybe even the Super Bowl and will be completed, but no one will feel like the season was very legit, except maybe the TV sponsors."
  11. I've said for a long time the NFL needs Stepford QB's! The game has got too fast, the players are too big and strong for the average or above average person to stand back there and figure things out and if/when he figures the mental part out, implement what's needed physically. There are a few out there smart enough, but they may not have the physical skills to pull it off. Fitz is a prime example. Kind of reminds me back in the 70's when first it was the Cowboys with Laundry who resorted to calling all the plays in from the sideline as didn't want their QB to have to figure things out all along out there. Quickly other teams followed. And yes am aware that Paul Brown did it way before, but didn't seem to catch on until Dallas implemented it.
  12. Well the Wegman family must have many razors as they seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. But "well for themselves" and naming rights are still in a different area code of living.
  13. As large as Wegman's is, think this is still out of their price range.
  14. Agree he likely would not even sign a 2nd contract with the Bills if for no other reason than the team would value him as a backup and usually the player over values himself and finds some other team willing to take a chance on him with a larger contract than he is worth and goes elsewhere.
  15. I think as this article pointed out he still has too many other intangibles, size, speed in his favor that even if he can't fix the concentration issue, he may not become a star # 1 TE, but could see him still becoming a #2 TE that defense would need to scheme for. He still finished #36 overall in receptions and 23rd in yardage and he was a rookie. Stats like that would likely keep him on a roster. I think things like that are fixable. It's like Josh Allen's accuracy issues. Most things you read and hear it's a mechanics thing with him as opposed to TT who I think was just a scatter arm. I'm sure he understands that himself, but in the heat of the moment it's sometimes forgotten. Give him enough practice time, eventually that becomes second nature and doesn't get forgotten during the game. Think it's the same with Knox.
  16. Kind of surprised about having to eat in their hotel rooms. I'd have thought they would allow team to go to private room at hotel reserved for team only and let players eat together all 6 feet apart, may require shifts to fit everyone. And no one is allowed to pass the salt!
  17. The story mentions how many have non disclosure agreements so can't talk. I'm sure ole Roger can require Danny boy to allow them to speak at a minimum to the NFL. Considering this story won't go away, sponsors, media, fans will be all over this, also require him to allow them to speak freely to anyone. I'd think the NFL and other owners aren't particularly fond of Danny either as years of losing hurts the $$ value, so may see them be quick to attempt to force him out. Accidentally leak transcripts if needed to get the job done.
  18. I assumed that was the case as skimming through an 11 page thread, I think I only saw one other post mention he couldn't access the article. Must be due to that time I led my dog pee on a copy of the Post!
  19. Am I the only one who can't view the story without having a subscription?
  20. I wouldn't give him credit for tanking, think it was going to tank regardless. And the economy was thriving along pretty good since about 2012. And also the same guy who had a "Hunch" it was going away and the same guy who suggested gargling with bleach to cure it.
  21. Based on that I could see the team offering Shaq less money than he got in Miami. And am fine with the premise that they signed a better replacement.
  22. What did Addison's numbers look like in the years prior to FA like 2 to 3 years back. Shaq looked solid last year, but prior, not very good. Maybe he just looked good for the contract. Same could be true for Addison as I don't know what is 2017 and 2018 number of sacks, etc looked like.
  23. Add to the fact that you now live in Virginia and originally were from the same location that Bruce played in, what are the odds!!
  24. The league doesn't want a PR nightmare, was reading yesterday that the amount of tests the NFL would need is much higher compared to the NBA due to number of players and coaches and length of season still ahead. The NBA reported to the "bubble" last week about three weeks prior to NFL training camp opening day, they will be down to 8 teams max left by Sept 15th, two days after the season opener so close to the same time frame as NFL training camp and preseason schedule. Eight NBA teams is about the equivalent of two NFL rosters and coaches. Read yesterday tier-1 personal, i.e. people allowed inside all facilites will be limited to 60 per team plus all players. So 90 players in training camp + 60 is about 150 per team.
  25. But the league stated they are not going to take supplies away from critical first line responders and medical personal!
