  1. My thought is after the Steelers game, McD took Daboll to the woodshed and gave him a good talking to about he lack of running plays, so he's calling many more. It's certainly not an excessive amount by most teams standards, but when you factor in how well the Bills passing game is most of the time, less runs would likely be better. So not sure if it's lackadaisical as much as trying to keep McD happy and have more balance. Admittedly not so sure it's a good idea unless we make a trade for Henry. Does make me wonder if they are going to run as much as they are, should they activate Berida as a 3rd different skill set RB?? I'd be happy with runs on 2nd and 2, not 1st and 10 when the defense is expecting it. We're not good enough to run most of the time when the defense is playing the run.
  2. Doubt you're going to get a decent return in a player so I'd take the extra draft pick. Agree to a better option might be to activate Stevenson. I'm npt all in favor of bringing back Roberts, but posts were questions whom to cut, making a trade solves that. As posted above, not necessarily advocating to pick up Roberts, just commenting how to do it without cutting asnyone. As far as giving up a position of strength, when every week we have 2 to 3 D lineman inactive, not sure you're giving up much of anything by trading one away. Good chance in the off season at least 3 of the following Phillips, Zimmer, Obada, and Addison will be gone anyway, go getting something for a player who's inactive anyway isn't so bad. For those who often question the NFL rule about why only 46 man active roster as opposed to all 53, the Bills D line is an example of why that rule is in place.
  3. Like the other thread says, may be trading one of the D lineman, that would open a slot for him.
  4. Game is getting to fast and [layers too big to easily officiate game. I'd like to see an additional official on each sideline behind the benches on one of these lifts about 30 feet in the air like the camera man. Would give him a better angle than many and maybe give in an instant replay screen to over rule calls on field
  5. Even that, you need to put a * next to it as never sure how much BB was really pulling the strings.
  6. I do think some of this thinking is due to Darnold's bar being set so low first three years. If he completes a pass it seems amazing after watching three years of the circus with the Jets.
  7. This article today certainly supports you're comments! https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/he-s-got-a-little-swagger-about-him-bills-kicker-tyler-bass-grows-more-confident/article_efaccf84-2ec5-11ec-ace8-73365fdf177e.html
  8. Agree the way he looked , someone needs to check if Meyer's had money on the Fish. There's been much written how he's alienated players, benching Fitz last season among other things recall reading. He may be good with the technical part of job, but seems like from what I've read, may not be the best leader. Admittedly, you never know how much was on him or the front office, but he seemed to take the blame for it.
  9. Yeah I was referring to cutting him in 2022 also. Admittedly the way he's been playing could see instead they keep him another year, maybe draft in 2nd or 3rd round his replacement and let him sit and learn for a year or at least not be starting. Agree with the positional spend concept, will see. Of all the starting positions (admittedly calling a punter a starter is a stretch) punter may be the weakest. Only other area possibly as shaky is interior line, but seems to be holding up.
  10. No was serious, got another response about water run off causing potholes which makes sense. But as I replied to him, didn't recall see potholes in front of the ones near me when I lived up north. Admittedly one was on a pretty steep incline out front so pretty tough to see any water puddling. Do recall going to Delta Sonic for many years, now down south for 14 years so no issue with that, maybe become much worse up there now?
  11. OK makes sense, though can't see I recall seeing water runnoff all over the street in front of them when I lived up north. Does amaze me living down south in a location where you could wash your car outside about 11 months of the year, how many car washes there are. Actually seem to be more here than up north.
  12. So two years left after this year. They moved on from their kicker Hauschka with one year remaining, so only difference is one more year left. Agree they are happy with holding, but not to say they can't find a college punter who also held for 2 to 3 years and was very good at it. And I do think holding was a big reason Bojo was let go. Two years left on a punters contract isn't exactly going to break the bank like it would on a position player. Many were thinking Star L will get let go after this season, admittedly based on recent play, may not happen. But my point is that was much more money think it's around $5.1 mil. Believe Haacks hit is $700k. If fans were assuming the Bills were ready to take a $5 mil cap hit, can't believe they'd worry much about $700k. If he starts punting a little better, he may be fine, but wouldn't shock me to see them draft a punter and see how he looks in camp, just like they did with Bass.
  13. I've said that for awhile, think that had a lot to do with it. As potent as Bills offense was/is missing a FG is probably more important than punting 5 to 10 yards less. I do think next year they will draft a punter.
  14. OK you got me, how does a car wash cause pot holes?? I'm sure this will be good!
  15. I think one of the two guards, either Williams or Mongo could be gone next year being replaced by a fairly highly rated FA. Also think Morse may be gone and see the Bills drafting in 2nd or 3rd an interior lineman with the plan to start him as a rookie. If it's a guard, then Mongo plays center, if it's a center, then he stays put. Putting my two thoughts together tells me they let Williams go, sign a better replacement and draft center/guard and Mongo plays whichever position of those two the rookie doesn't play. Also think they draft another interior lineman later on around 5th or 6th. Could see them trading Ford after this week as have two backups in Ike and Bates, may get a 6th in return. Do think the Bills will also draft a punter around the 5th or 6th unless we see improvement. Of all the starting positions I honestly think punter may be our weakest spot.
  16. Agree with both comments, my solution would be to offer him a sizable pay cut and maybe an extra year to re-do his contract. If he says no, then he's gone. But do like his ability to step in when Milano gets hurt. And I said when not if! LOL Likely also draft a rookie LB too that pays that same role and maybe even with a lower salary, might still let him go in 2023
  17. Much bigger game for the fans than the players. As was mentioned, few players ever played against Brady in NE. Plus NFC game, so not as much impact on home field and standings. Actually losing this game to an NFC team would help them!
  18. Sanders, have read he's actually better in the slot than as #2. And then make Davis #2. And sign one other FA who's a mid level WR and should be just as good. Allen will make players much better than they are. Give any WR enough time, he'll always get open. Allen has ability to extend plays to make that happen.
  19. Think having a QB like Allen helps as you can sign tier II WR and he'll make them look like a tier I. Sanders at 34 may be one of them, great WR 5 years ago, now having Allen throwing to him prolongs his career a bit. Even O-Line, really not the best in league, but Allen makes them look better than they are. These things allow the team to save a bit of money elsewhere. Admittedly there's probably 1/2 dozen (maybe even 10) other teams in same situation.
  20. Agree on Chargers, also Bengals as they both are set at QB. But Brown definitely is not one to spend big $$. They both have somewhat of a small window though as soon the rookie contracts will be ending. IMO any un-vaxxed players will get cut next year unless a real superstar as teams won't want to deal with the hassle. There may be more places like NYC or San Fran where players can't play in games if not vaxxed. This past year between cap constraints and limited time between start of NFL year and vaccine's coming out, not enough time for teams to do much of anything. By next year teams will have time and money to address.
  21. Last year, Davis played much more than they expected due to Brown being out hurt. This year with Sanders play, Davis just isn't needed that much. It also seems they also have been going with 4 WR less than lat year so again reduces his snap count.
  22. The team has more defensive lineman than they need to keep active. Wonder if the best strategy would be each week, make either Addison or Hughes inactive. (Ideally activate each of them for half the game, is there anything in the rules about that) My point is by the time you sit out 2 to 3 each week, it kind of forces either Hughes or Addison to take more snaps than what would be the ideal If one of those two were sitting out, would give someone else not named Hughes or Addison more snaps in their place and keep those two fresher when needed.
  23. I'll always argue the player taken is always at the top of the teams board or so they say afterwards.
  24. McVay did already have his QB, granted he's since got rid of him, but in exchange for another QB who supposedly better fits his scheme in an even trade. That certainly gave him a leg up early on.
  25. Not sure I'd call Miami very good, think it was extremely hot and humid even by Miami standards!
