I wouldn’t pick up the option on Edmunds. He’s a $14M/yr type of talent, but it doesn’t show consistently enough.

Before the rule changes, the onside kick was an exciting play and historically was recovered by the kicking team 13% of the time. There was actually a season where 21% of those kicks were recovered! With the rule changes that number has plummeted to just over 5%, one recovery per every 20 attempts. 4th and 15s are converted at an average of 16%, so changing the rule would bring excitement back into the game, but also somewhat punish the team with the lead since it’s far more likely they’d pick up a 4th and 15 than recover an onside kick.

Star may be the smallest “space eater” in the history of space eaters and isn’t all that impactful when he’s on the field. We truly need a Ted “Mt.” Washington type. Look at this picture, Sapp was nearly the same size as Star.

I’m seeing a lot of anger with his decision. JJ made the best decision for himself, I don’t feel dissed by his choice. JJ may have played somewhere around 65% of the snaps in Buffalo. Not on this particular night, especially with the way the Bills had been playing in the playoffs. If the “end of the regular season” Bills showed up, it would’ve been a fun game and I’d actually give the nod to Buffalo. Im not sure if the Bills were playing the Bucs tonight that they’d have a chance. I think they’d look a lot like the Chiefs - physically outmatched on O with a D that gives up plays to an on target Brady.

Of course he is, that’s why I said to pursue a trade involving Edmunds.

Much of the league believes Edmunds is as well. He’s been to Pro Bowls, White has not, at least there’s that bargaining chip.

Seriously, if I was Beane I’d call TB and offer up Edmunds & a high draft pick for White. If a 3rd can’t get it done, go with a 2nd and a 5th.

Ed would be a perfect DE in a 3-4 system, but in a 4-3? Not sure he has the bend and quickness off the edge to beat RTs. He could overpower them, sure, but the only smaller DE I remember creating lots of havoc was Dwight Freeney... and that’s because he was FAST.

If they’re going to continue running this defense, they absolutely have to find an instinctual MLB to man the middle of the field. Put Edmunds at a position where he can attack and think less, similar to how they started using Klein. A good to great MLB could’ve easily baited Mahomes with some of those throws tonight and jumped those passes for INTs. Sadly Edmunds just has no awareness at all.

Who’s the best cover 2 LB in the league? Get that team on the phone, offer Edmunds straight up and if that’s not enough, see what else it’d take to get the job done.

They’ve been on our WRs like white on rice all night. Plus the OL can’t run or pass block. Just a weird game, totally outclassed. Like a JV team playing varsity.
