  1. Remember how bad the replacement refs were? And everyone was like “hurry up and get the real referees back in here, these guys are terrible and ruining games.” The real refs are terrible and ruining games as well and unlike the replacements, they carry biases towards certain teams and players. It’s a difficult job, no doubt, but penalties need to go back to looking like actual penalties, egregious ones, for the flag to be warranted. No more ticky-tack nonsense that affords the refs screen time.
  2. When and how did you become a Bills fan, Gunner?
  3. Cant remember who said it, but one of these announcers said something along the lines of “there needs to be an investigation by the NFL into the Pittsburgh, Buffalo game. How did this Pittsburgh team beat the Bills?” Bogus calls to wipe out a Tre White interception, multiple ticky-tack pass interference calls on our DBs, offensive holding calls every other play, subpar QB play, subpar play calling, a sieve of an offensive line, a blocked punt for a TD, and two fortunate Pittsburgh receptions, one of which went for a TD. It took all that for the Bills to lose by a single score.
  4. I believe that drive ended in a FG too. Good thing it wasn’t costly.
  5. Wouldn’t it be over a TD? At TEN - 3.5, neutral field - 6.5 (taking away the Titans 3 pt home field advantage), at BUF 9.5. Always thought thats how it works.
  6. Yeah, but I just heard Max Kellerman say Justin Herbert is better than Josh RIGHT NOW 😂
  7. I do believe tonight was only the second loss in Mahomes career that the Chiefs have lost by more than one score. The other was the loss to TB in the Super Bowl. They’ve been that good, so the fans aren’t used to seeing Mahomie and crew dominated.
  8. Brownies were up 22-10 at halftime but got outscored 23-7 the second half. Gotta keep a foot on the Chiefs neck, they’re not gonna go away quietly.
  9. Bills do employ a heavy rotation, none of the lineman are on the field for more than 57% of the snaps, BUT because we’ve held decent leads, the opportunity to rush the passer has been greater, yet that hasn’t turned into an increase in sack production by the DL. Rousseau and Star lead the way with 2 sacks each and only Rousseau is in the top 50 in terms of pressure percentage.
  10. Chandler seems to be having a bad day maybe. The thread I linked to The Athletic article about the top pass rushers was even questioned. Maybe he wants an atmosphere that’s more like a library, where everyone is quiet and no one posts 😂
  11. Yeah, that’s included in the pressure percentage.
  12. Of the players charted, there was a baseline of 50 or more pass rush snaps. I don’t have the breakdown for how often our ends or tackles have rushed, or played the run, versus dropping back in coverage, but here are the total snap counts for each defender most often tasked with rushing the passer. I’d be willing to bet many of them cross that 50 snap baseline as well, so the thread is relevant in my eyes. Epenesa: 93 Oliver: 130 Rousseau: 127 Hughes: 123 Zimmer: 110 Addison: 101 Star: 80 Butler: 85
  13. It’s so bizarre. OTs are getting away with murder and I can’t recall the last holding penalty Hughes generated. Can’t all be due to the referee grudge, can it? I can’t see collusion in a billion dollar industry to not call holding if Hughes is the player.
  14. The Bills couldn’t get pressure on Mahomes with 4 or 5 rushers when he had a banged up OL, so with an offensive line that is much improved this season, I’m not sure how any of those rushers are going to get home. That’s why I say to use one of the DEs to jam Kelce whenever he’s lined up tight to the formation. Likely wouldn’t get there anyway. But yes, overall the ROI is not there.
  15. One Buffalo Bill made the list: NFL Pressure Index As a team, the Bills rank 6th in pressure rate (8.3%), but with the amount of investment in the defensive line over the last couple years, should it be a concern that only Rousseau (12.5%; 30) is among the top 50 players? It is interesting that Cam Heyward (12 pressures; single game high) and Deron Payne (10 pressures) wouldn’t be in the top 50 either if not for their monster performances against the Bills. Also, the 200KB restriction for images is so tiny! Not sure I’ve ever seen below 600KB, so apologies if the table comes in a little fuzzy.
  16. Best game since perhaps his rookie year, his best season. I’d love for Edmunds to turn into a game wrecker, I don’t think any true Bills fan roots against his success, but I’m not going to crown him “all pro” because he had a good game against the Texans. I hope to see more impactful plays from him going forward, especially in big games. Side note, whoever’s responsible for covering Kelce next week, Edmunds, Tre Day or whoever, can Frazier PLEASE have a DE jam him off the line of scrimmage every time he’s in tight formation?! Disrupt Mahomes timing, the DE tasked with jamming Kelce likely wouldn’t sack Mahomes anyway.
  17. What’s the parking situation for the Texans game? Hanmer’s Lot? I’m a newb flying in for only my second game ever!
  18. You obviously put a lot of time into this and for that it’s appreciated. It is a subjective grading system, so some of your +1 plays and other assessments could definitely be argued - “TE drops into coverage, Heinicke throws beyond the LOS +1” “TE called for holding, but I didnt see it 0.” There are others like this, but I chose two as an example. The fact remains, Edmund’s game changing, impact plays are few and far between. His mistakes are magnified because he routinely fails to make splash plays and his missteps stand out like a flashlight in a dark room. He’s not a “terrible” player, but he’s not a difference-maker either, I’d move on after the season for any dollar amount over $10M/yr. Ideally I’d love to see what he would fetch in a trade.
  19. Brady is the NFL’s equivalent to Michael Jordan. No one in their right mind would debate who was greater for the Bulls success, Phil Jackson or Michael Jordan and it’s the same situation here. The coach calls the plays, incorporates the schemes, but it’s on the players to execute. A coach’s greatness is directly influenced by who they have on the field/court. Belichick is a great coach, but take away his Brady years and he’s nowhere near the conversation for “greatest head coach of all time.” He needed arguably the greatest QB of all time to birth that legacy.
  20. If you’re Waddle, you absolutely need to bat that ball down, or if you didn’t see the DB bearing down until you caught it, drop it on contact for an incomplete pass.
  21. The reasoning is a bit different than NBA goaltending in my opinion. The vast majority of kicks clear the 10 foot high goalpost easily, so in the rare occasion that a ball is low enough to contest, it should be allowed. NBA players shoot into a 10 foot hoop, NFL kickers kick into a structure that stretches up to the heavens.
  22. I was wondering if that was the case, it should be allowed if kicks are going to be that low.
  23. On the 66 yard game winning FG. Why didn’t the Lions put their tallest, highest vertical guy in the center of the uprights, to try to knock down the ball should it be that close? Don’t think there’s anything against “goal tending” in the NFL, the kicks are usually so high it’s not realistic to swat them down.
  24. Just had a dream the Bills decided to try Vernon Butler at guard and to everyone’s surprise he excelled. How far fetched is that? 😂
  25. If he was a 3rd round pick we’d be talking about how best to upgrade the position, not the potential (monster) contract his agent may think is coming based on his questionable Pro Bowl selections.
