There are a few QBs that are still ahead of him in the mental part of the game, but his physical attributes are second to none. You gotta hope next year good decision making will be further amplified by a better supporting cast. Next year could’ve been this year though, but Beane didn’t make those moves, he just decided to “run it back” with the same roster that failed in the AFCCG.

I’m shocked that none of the usual Edmunds defenders are around in this thread. Never thought I’d see the day where they were silenced. It’s been said over and over, doesn’t matter who’s playing up front to “help” him, he simply lacks the instincts to play the position. I don’t even want to revisit his stats regarding impact plays, or lack thereof, but when an offense runs the ball over 40 times and your starting MLB doesn’t have at least ONE tackle for loss, there’s a problem. Trade him after this year and see what you can get, if Beane is a shrewd GM he’ll do just that. If Edmunds goes into next year without someone else on the roster to challenge his position, this franchise deserves to dwell in mediocrity, and that’s unfair to us fans.

I wouldn’t say terrible, but he has definitely burned capital trading up for players that either haven’t panned out or are JAGs. I’d categorize his selections as “solid.” His main shortcoming is that he’s only drafted one difference-maker. At least that difference-maker plays the most important position. His upcoming decision on Tremaine Edmunds will cement his player evaluation abilities for me - which to this point has been lacking.

True. They could’ve chosen the wind for the 4th Q since they deferred their decision to the 2nd half, but Pats would’ve got the ball to start the half again. It’s rare, but I’ve seen it happen where one team gets the ball to start both halves.

Meanwhile Ertz is playing very well with his new team and likely would’ve caught one or both of those passes Knox dropped tonight. He’s also savvy enough to draw a flag in the endzone when a defender is draped all over him. Knox has to sell it better, he was more focused on the pass than drawing a penalty, but the penalty is what he should’ve been after given the DBs aggressiveness.

Incorrect. You can either take the ball, choose the side to defend, or defer your choice to the 2nd half. If they took the wind as you suggested, Pats would get the ball first half and would likely decide to have the ball again to start the 2nd half rather than choose which side to defend. If I were the Bills and won the toss on a day like today, I’d choose to receive, the Pats would then be forced to either choose to receive in the 2nd half, or choose which endzone they’d like to defend. It’s likely in this scenario they would’ve taken the ball and Bills would’ve had the wind at their backs in the 4th Q.

I knew Edmunds was a poor run defender based on his lack of instincts and ability to get off blocks, but wow, he gets pushed around rather easily. On one play it was either the center or a pulling tight end who pushed him and he went flying about 10 yards out of the play. He’s charmin soft.

Just looked at the schedule today. These matchups are gross.

One of the rare games that finished before the 3 hour mark. Rushing the ball has a lot to do with that, but so does the lack of calls and stoppage of play. I’ll take this crew over a flag happy one any day of the week.

Don’t know what everyone else thinks, but I love how the game is being officiated. The refs aren’t taking over, the game has a flow and is fast moving. If I was a ref this is exactly what I’d want out of my crew as well.

Josh has been playing pretty bad since the Titans game.

A lot of these talking heads (Orlovsky, Brandt, Brees, Esiason, JayWill, Michael Robinson, and many others) backed the Bills religiously, even after the L to the Jaguars. The team is making every one of them look foolish right now and no one likes to be proven wrong or made to look like a fool. They can be bandwagon fans, we can’t. Hopefully the Bills right the ship and they’re all able to puff their chests out again with what they knew would happen: Bills will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

I doubt they would’ve done much better had Edmunds played against the Colts. Run defense has never been his strength and I know many of you would’ve blamed his failures due to Star being out.

I’d love to see some defensive innovation from McD and Frazier. You’re going against a strong run team, put more defenders in the box on early and running downs. Why not run a 5-2 with either Hyde or Poyer in the box as an 8th defender? The 4-2 nickel scheme wasn’t working and they stubbornly stuck with it.

It’s true the OL needs to play better, much better for the Bills to actually win anything substantive, BUT there are quite a few occasions where Josh has ample time in the pocket and either decides to bail, or hold the ball for over 3 seconds. Either he’s not seeing open receivers, or they’re not getting open for him. The OL would look pretty good if Josh was a “get the ball out in 2.5 seconds” rhythm passer, something Brady has been known for his entire career. We need Josh to elevate the play of his OL and WRs, to make them look better than they are. That would be a true evolution of his game and based on the reports I heard out of camp, I thought he was trending that way and would be the player we’d be getting this year (and evidently so did Brandon Beane). He’s not yet at the level where he can carry the team by himself, despite what Daboll may think - as evidenced by his pass heavy play calls.

KC getting better on D as the year goes on. Sincerely hope that offense doesn’t start clicking as well, or it’s over for the rest of the AFC.

The Colts are not 41-15 better than the Bills, even with the injuries. Colts secondary, like Jacksonville, was also missing key starters but it didn’t matter. Scheme is to blame.

Those two only play because of injuries. If Star, Zimmer, Brown, and Feliciano were available neither of those two would be on the field, which sucks given the resources spent to acquire them.

Id argue the fact they DON’T play speaks volumes. If they were difference makers they wouldn’t be healthy scratches or conceding reps to older veterans who aren’t exactly lighting up the field.

How did the #1 defense play when going against a competent offense? Here’s the thing, we don’t need all of our 2nd round picks to be DK Metcalf, JK Dobbins, Creed Humphrey, etc., but they HAVE to produce better than the Fords, Epenesas, and Bashams of the world.

I think what’s also upsetting is that I’m getting numb to the losses like I was during the drought years. It wasn’t supposed to be like this after reaching the the AFC Championship game last year. If there was ever a time to win it all it was this year and the team dropped the ball. They’re 6-4 on a cupcake schedule, I have zero confidence they’ll actually make a run and beat good or balanced teams.
