  1. It didn’t have to be a sack or an interception. If you go back and look at the play, the pressure was coming strong off Josh’s right side. Instead of rolling left away from it, he inexplicably tried to escape to his right and the pressure was there.
  2. Though I initially didn’t like the pick, the one thing I always admired, appreciated, and respected about Josh Allen is how he takes ownership of his struggles. After listening to EJ Manuel deflect direct criticism to the team “we couldn’t do this, we couldn’t do that, we have to be better” I couldn’t stomach his press conferences. Allen came in from day one with “I” as opposed to “we.” He is a true leader.
  3. On the Allen interception to Josh Allen, he saw the pressure and immediately tried to escape to his right, where that very pressure was coming from. Had he gone left he had a lot of field to play with and no one in his face. It reminded me of the QB sneak, where the Titans defenders say they were told “he always sneaks to his left.” He has tendencies teams are keying on and the league is learning how to play him. He’ll figure it out, no doubt, but he also needs help and he isn’t getting that right now.
  4. Wonder who Beane would’ve taken had the Panthers selected Cody Ford like he initially feared. To think we traded draft picks to move up that round! I also heard he was working the phones to move up for Boogie Basham, but couldn’t consummate a trade. Other GMs wanted that 2nd round pick but Beane was steadfast that Basham was their man and if he wasn’t there, they had a deal in place to move back. The only trade-up I’d score as an A would be Allen. If Knox manages to ascend into an elite TE, thats a another great one, but most often since draft picks are such a crapshoot it’s better to stand pat or trade down. It’s a shame Cody Ford wasn’t off the board.
  5. Ever seen Apocalypto? I think there’s a nickname in there that’s fitting of our MLB: Tremaine “Almost” Edmunds
  6. We’ve already lost as many regular season games this year as we did all of last year. The positive news is that at least the Chiefs are struggling too.
  7. Are we sure it’s mostly Daboll to blame? I don’t have the All-22, otherwise I’d be interested in going back to look at the tape to see how many times Diggs beat his man and how many seconds it took. I don’t recall a lot of instances this year where Allen throws him open. Seemed like it happened a lot last year.
  8. I guess you’ve never played sports. Sure, it’s the players’ job to be ready whenever their number is called, to come through with the spectacular or even routine play, but if someone hasn’t been involved in the game - all game - I cant and wont tar & feather them when they fail to make the play that comes to them. Players can and do absolutely “check out” if they’re victims of long stretches of inactivity.
  9. I need Allen to dirt the ball there. Brady has made a living throwing at guys’ feet when it’s obvious the play is busted from the start. I don’t know what play he thought he was gonna make there, just throw it at the feet of the WR running up the seam and live for the next play.
  10. Gabe Davis hasn’t been involved all season. I think that was only his 2nd target all game. You hear about calling plays to get WRs involved, slants, screens, etc, and as a 4th string receiver he doesn’t have that luxury, so I think he got caught with his head not in the game.
  11. The Bills just lost to a team that had won ONE GAME in the prior 23 before today. The loss wasn’t squarely on Allen, but as a quarter of a billion dollar man you’d hope for more out of your QB. He missed throws, missed reads, bailed from clean pockets, forced plays that weren’t there, etc. He needs to do better. The offensive line is trash, true, but every offensive play wasn’t a sieve. Opportunities are there and either he or his teammates (Gabe/Cole looking at you) aren’t taking advantage of them.
  12. Cody Ford is the Bobby Hart of offensive guards, which is shocking considering he was the best lineman on a talented OU team. Don’t know what happened to the guy, but he’s far from even his rookie performances (which weren’t great, but steady). Also, part of me wants to blame Josh for bailing from a clean pocket multiple times, or refusing to step up when the rush is getting there wide, but I can’t blame him seeing as how the interior is trash. You can see he feels his only escape is out wide to his right.
  13. Josh is so shook in the pocket that even when he had lots of time and protection, he bailed out to his right and made his job harder than it has to be.
  14. Anyone going to cheer the team at the airport?
  15. This past offseason Ford was rehabbing an injury. I’m not prepared to totally close the book on him, even though chances are slim he’ll become another Wyatt Teller, but barring injury he should have an entire offseason to work on his body. And there’s a lot of work that needs to be done there.
  16. Haven’t watched the two rookie Chiefs OLineman play all that much (Humphrey & Smith), but apparently they’re doing extremely well. Glad the rest of that team hasn’t matched their level of play.
  17. Why spend a 2nd round draft pick on a proven, high quality guard like Norwell, when you can just draft the next Cody Ford. Kidding. Kinda. I’ll trust Beane knows what he’s doing, despite what appears to be a glaring weakness in the interior OL.
  18. Hopefully he’s not the one at fault, but a young athlete in a sports car usually suggests otherwise. Truly unfortunate.
  19. Nothing will be done about them or their ticky-tack/inconsistent calls until YOU, the viewer, decide to stop putting money into the machine. We all know that’s not gonna happen, so the refs will continue being a focal point of the action instead of what they’re supposed to be - rules overseers.
  20. Second half against the Steelers wasn’t pretty either.
  21. He told me “noted,” then proceeded to ask my opinion of other players 😂
  22. I’m ready to move on from Edmunds. Hopefully the FO isn’t still drunk with his potential and will be looking for his replacement in the off-season.
  23. I don’t think the running game is a running back problem. That said, I’d like to see either Singletary or Moss traded and Breida a game day backup to the other. Won’t happen though, we’d get next to nothing in a trade.
  24. Back when we needed a QB I was a big fan of taking a gamble on Mike White. Admittedly I hadn’t watched more than game highlights and his Senior Bowl performance, but I thought he looked the part and was surprised he lasted until the 5th round. Had forgotten all about him, thought he was still buried on the Cowpokes roster.
