  1. You obviously put a lot of time into this and for that it’s appreciated. It is a subjective grading system, so some of your +1 plays and other assessments could definitely be argued - “TE drops into coverage, Heinicke throws beyond the LOS +1” “TE called for holding, but I didnt see it 0.” There are others like this, but I chose two as an example. The fact remains, Edmund’s game changing, impact plays are few and far between. His mistakes are magnified because he routinely fails to make splash plays and his missteps stand out like a flashlight in a dark room. He’s not a “terrible” player, but he’s not a difference-maker either, I’d move on after the season for any dollar amount over $10M/yr. Ideally I’d love to see what he would fetch in a trade.
  2. Brady is the NFL’s equivalent to Michael Jordan. No one in their right mind would debate who was greater for the Bulls success, Phil Jackson or Michael Jordan and it’s the same situation here. The coach calls the plays, incorporates the schemes, but it’s on the players to execute. A coach’s greatness is directly influenced by who they have on the field/court. Belichick is a great coach, but take away his Brady years and he’s nowhere near the conversation for “greatest head coach of all time.” He needed arguably the greatest QB of all time to birth that legacy.
  3. If you’re Waddle, you absolutely need to bat that ball down, or if you didn’t see the DB bearing down until you caught it, drop it on contact for an incomplete pass.
  4. The reasoning is a bit different than NBA goaltending in my opinion. The vast majority of kicks clear the 10 foot high goalpost easily, so in the rare occasion that a ball is low enough to contest, it should be allowed. NBA players shoot into a 10 foot hoop, NFL kickers kick into a structure that stretches up to the heavens.
  5. I was wondering if that was the case, it should be allowed if kicks are going to be that low.
  6. On the 66 yard game winning FG. Why didn’t the Lions put their tallest, highest vertical guy in the center of the uprights, to try to knock down the ball should it be that close? Don’t think there’s anything against “goal tending” in the NFL, the kicks are usually so high it’s not realistic to swat them down.
  7. Just had a dream the Bills decided to try Vernon Butler at guard and to everyone’s surprise he excelled. How far fetched is that? 😂
  8. If he was a 3rd round pick we’d be talking about how best to upgrade the position, not the potential (monster) contract his agent may think is coming based on his questionable Pro Bowl selections.
  9. I dont necessarily need Duck Butkus or Brandon Spikes, but i do want a MLB who doesn’t look like he’s on skates whenever he comes in contact with an OL. Tremaine doesn’t play a physical brand of football, to say otherwise is foolish. He is a sideline to sideline backer, but always a step or two slow in making the big play. He’s an above average player, largely based on his measurables, nothing more.
  10. Allen had something like 55 yards at halftime against the fishies. The Allen that played against the 49ers last season would’ve ripped both those defenses apart, pressure be damned. There are plays to be made out there, he’s just not making them right now.
  11. So far, it does seem to the untrained eye that Milano has been more impactful on the field than Tre White, but that’s not to take anything away from Tre. Milano has been balling, coverage, blitzes, tackles, he’s been a wrecking ball.
  12. With his slow step approach, could you imagine having to punt from the 1 yard line, where he only gets 10 yards of separation as opposed to his usual 15? Eek.
  13. T Edmunds Star Feliciano D Knox L Wallace Oh wait, think I misread the question 😂
  14. I’d like to believe this myself, given his length and speed, but he’s not a physical player. I think if he were to blitz off the edge and a tight end got in his way, the tight end wins. I don’t say that to be snarky, I just can’t remember one play where Edmunds physically imposed his will on an opponent. Not a single one that made me say “wow, Tremaine!” His next contract with the Bills shouldn’t be worth more than Milano’s and if it is, I’d be upset if I were Milano.
  15. Wish I had a sports Almanac like Biff from Back to the Future. Bet $250 and take home $7M. Crazy.
  16. Has anyone mentioned the parlay that’s still alive? A man placed a $25 bet, has a chance to win $726,959. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-betting-16-team-parlay-still-alive-heading-into-monday-163204160.html
  17. Mac Jones, a rookie playing in his second game with significantly less of a supporting cast than Josh Allen, went 29-39 for 281 and a TD against these same Dolphins. Josh is struggling, don’t blame the Miami defense for that. It’s okay to acknowledge he’s not hitting the same throws he regularly hit last season and in training camp.
  18. Allen will be fine in time. By all accounts he was lights out in training camp. It’s difficult to sustain that level of play and focus for weeks on end, we’re now witnessing a bit of a slump where he’s missing reads and throws. All great players go through these slumps. Brady is the closest to a machine and even he has his off days. I fully expect Allen to come around, I actually thought it’d happen after he got riled up from the push out of bounds. Better that it’s happening now and not at the end of the year. That’s when he needs to be hot.
  19. I’d seriously entertain a trade for Edmunds. If the rest of the league is as high on him as the Bills, surely he could fetch a 1st round pick? Then again, his peers don’t recognize him as a top 100 player (top 200?), so perhaps only the Buffalo coaching staff thinks he’s a game changer. Trade him before you have to pay him, he’s not worth more than Milano.
  20. The “No Fun League” has eliminated any possibility of bad blood between teams, or true grudge matches. I miss the bad blood, loved when it was in the NBA too. Those Bulls/Pistons and Knicks/Heat matches used to be epic.
  21. Agreed, just another subjective penalty to give them even more control over games.
  22. Is R Wilson the best deep ball thrower in the league? If he’s not, he’s def in the conversation. Maybe Mahomes & Rodgers have a case as well.
  23. Derrick Carr had himself a day. As did Eppy, hats off to the young Bills DL! OL and a real MLB is the focus next draft.
  24. Edmunds struggles with ball skills. He’s lucky that ball he was batting around on the sidelines didn’t go as a fumble. He would’ve never lived that down. Whether it’s hand-eye coordination, or his adrenaline is running too high, he’s just not good securing the ball.
  25. I’d love to see progress, maybe you don’t. But when a team returns 21/22 starters and the issues that plagued them last year look apparent again - so far - it doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies for marquee matchups like KC. Yes, any given Sunday, and the players can still improve, but I’d love to experience more than another playoff exit. I’d love this team to take the next step. It’s okay to criticize the squad, just like it’s okay to praise their hard work, that’s what these messageboards are for.
