I question how much of a strength it really is. It certainly isn’t a strength because he’s getting in passing lanes and deflecting and/or intercepting passes. I’d love for someone to crunch the numbers for when Edmunds is in coverage, I’d guess the opposing QB’s rating - when playing a competent QB - is actually fairly high.

I feel opposite: MCM was one play, one mistake - stay in your rush lanes. 13 seconds was a series of boneheaded gaffs (3) where if just one of them goes our way, we win. That was tougher to stomach because you could see it unraveling.

A 5’10 200# RB with 4.3 speed should’ve definitely been on Beane’s list last draft. Especially when we were rumored to take a faster back like Etienne. I wonder what he and the league didn’t like about Elijah. Is the reason he lasted until the 6th round incompetence?

Stevenson certainly didn’t look 6.46 three cone quick on the field. Hopefully he puts in a lot of work this off-season with direction from the coaches for how to become a better receiver. We need his speed on the field.

Too bad we can’t get a real, candid response from the team about Edmunds. If McBeane were asked about him, I’d imagine we’d hear “he’s captain of the number one defense in the NFL. He played his best ball this year and is only getting better. Pro bowl alternate. We’re happy with Tremaine.” 🤢🤮

I was amazed and encouraged by how well the OL pass blocked against the Chiefs. Didn’t hear at all from Chris Jones or Frank Clark really, though Ingram made a few plays. What do you do in this situation? A finesse OL that doesn’t run block well, but can pass block efficiently. Who do you look to upgrade? Bates? He wasn’t at all a weakness. Is Morse sticking around?

Obada makes peanuts, I’d actually bring him back on another low cost deal. Rousseau, Basham, Epenesa, and Obada would be four I’d have returning for sure. PS: I would’ve loved to see Obada go rogue once he saw Kelce lined up across from him. Rather than rush the passer, jam Kelce at the line just to disrupt something and then you can go after the QB you weren’t going to get to anyway. Unfortunately Obada has played the least football of anyone on the roster, so that recognition on his part is probably a pipe dream. I’m not sure Hughes or Addison would’ve jammed Kelce there either and both of them are old vets on the verge of retirement.

Much more deserving of it than Edmunds. He’s trending upwards and getting better and better.

Regardless of the fact the Bills didn’t punt against him in 2 games, I definitely don’t think KC would’ve got the yards they needed for the FG if he were coaching those last 13 seconds. Basically comes down to experience, I don’t think McD has a comparable gaff like that the rest of his coaching career. It’s just unfortunate it had to happen in a playoff game.

Rams would’ve been tough in the SB given their DL and playmakers on the backend, but I do think the Bills would’ve been favored. If “great” Matt Stafford shows up the last 2 games I think they’ll win it all.

I don’t know how JOK did in Cleveland this year so I may be making this comment with egg on my face, but because he brought so much speed and quickness from the LB position (and could affect the QB), I was hoping he’d be our first round pick, not Rousseau.

Bengals fans love Bills fans (I think it’s because of the donations to Dalton) and the ones who wanted to play us next week wanted to do so just so they’d have an AFC team to root for in the Super Bowl. Like Bills fans they despise the Chiefs and their following. I don’t have a problem rooting for Bengals this Sunday, I hope the Chiefs are emotionally and physically spent.

I don’t know why some pine for using Edmunds in a more aggressive role at OLB. I’ve never seen a guy as big as he is get pushed around so easily. He gets absolutely stoned by RBs! I won’t even bring up tight ends, he’s not getting past them either. It’s like he has no lower body strength and almost all his tackles are arm tackles where he kind of slinks off the ball carrier. He’s got physical gifts from a testing standpoint, but doesn’t have the instincts or functional strength to capitalize on them. Mentioning his name in the same breath as Micah Parsons? That’s simply wishful thinking, nothing more.

Whats sad about the snap counts are the defensive line numbers. For a unit that has such heavy rotation, you wouldn’t think they’d be absolutely tapped out and gassed in the 4th Q. OL plays 100% of the snaps, yet our wave of rotations never crushed or out-hustled them.

That 75 yarder was the prettiest deep ball he’s ever thrown and not coincidentally, one of the few he has hit. Deep ball accuracy would be what I hope he’d work on as well, because if that ever comes together, more consistently, I just don’t know how you’d defend this Bills offense.

Someone had made a comment one time about Madden savants being much more savvy when it comes to game management because they’ve played thousands of hours on the game and have encountered hundreds of thousands of scenarios. Here’s an out of the box thought: hire the Madden winner as some sort of gameday consultant. I can almost guarantee if that person was on the sidelines yesterday and McD went up to him and said “what do you like here?” he would’ve suggested the squib but also a defense that rushes 2 and drops everyone else in coverage. It’s a crazy idea, but I think it has legs… if the coach’s ego would allow it.

Would you still say Frazier if we didn’t get the draft picks?

So then the question becomes is McD’s defense too antiquated? If we’re expected to stop the top offenses in the league, should the scheme be changed to something more aggressive and less reliant on a DL that doesn’t often get home?

I’d pick Frazier on account he nets us two 3rd rounders should he become HC. Plus I think his defense is too passive.

Here’s my proposal: the team that wins the coin toss has the option to receive and if they do, they get the ball on their own 1 or 2 yard line. If they elect to kick, the opposition gets the ball on their own 1 or 2 yard line. First score wins the game, regardless if it’s a FG, TD, or safety.

If you look at the players as “hired guns,” then it makes sense the average fan will take the loss harder than the average player. Josh Allen didn’t grow up a Bills fan, he wasn’t born when “wide right” happened and hasn’t had to endure the many devastating losses in this franchise’s history, BUT he’s here now and he’s Bills through and through. With the amount of work that he put into this season, no doubt he feels worse for the fans than himself, while we feel sorrier for ourselves because the joys of celebrating a Super Bowl will have to wait yet again.

Just saw a replay of the Mahomes TD run where Jerry jumped on the pump fake. Oof. If he just keeps his feet and pursues Mahomes rather than taking himself out of the play, the TD run likely doesn’t happen. Shades of Mario Addison inexplicably diving at Kyler Murray last year before he unloaded the Hail Murray. Going against Allen in practice, they should know to keep their feet.
