  1. Will be a week of excuses about snow.
  2. Easiest defense to play against in the AFC.
  3. May be the worst third down defense we’ve fielded under Frazier.
  4. Let’s see if they feel like stopping the run this week.
  5. Been a terrible month for Buffalo sports fans.
  6. On the first INT, McKenzie ran his route OUT OF BOUNDS and then just stood there, OUT OF BOUNDS, keeping his defender (Peterson) in position to make the play. Dorsey is clearly out of his league but there is also a talent problem on offense that many of us were carping about all offseason.
  7. Lots of blame to go around on this one.
  8. Not Vrabel though - low-key a top 3 coach in the league, even though he's a total meathead he has his team ready almost every week and in almost every game situation.
  9. No no, he's a sleeper agent planted by Belichek every few years to sabotage other teams and bring valuable information back to the mothership. HAS to be that.
  10. Conspiracy theories are the bane of civilization.
  11. He is going to wait for some dumb and desperate owner to give him the Jon Gruden package, $100m and a boatload of roster control. I just don’t see Terry doing that. Carolina would make perfect sense (Tepper is far from dumb, but he’s beyond desperate at this point). So would Houston and so would Dallas (though Jerry would hate to give up roster control). Also am I correct that the Saints still own his rights and would expect draft pick compensation?
  12. The Bills are a well-prepared team but not a well-coached team. Discuss.
  13. How can that possibly be right?
  14. He’ll be claimed by someone higher on the waiver order. Like the Rams.
  15. Yesterday's game looked like a Rex Ryan spectacle in many respects, if we're being honest.
  16. I mean... "The Bills rushing in the fourth quarter: 66 carries for 207 yards, two touchdowns and 3.1 yards per rush. Take away Allen's rushes and the Bills have rushed just 45 times for 154 yards in the fourth quarter. Keep in mind that the Bills are often almost always leading in the fourth quarter. Perhaps they should consider throttling down a bit." Clearly this is what McD wants - but for whatever reason, that's not what Dorsey is calling...
  17. Not sure where else to put this so might as well put it here. Interesting take from an NFL insider: "As for the end-of-game issues, Buffalo should be in better position than most to avoid them, as a team with a head coach who doesn’t call plays and therefore can focus more on situational ball. But these are tricky situations to evaluate. If the Chiefs seem better-equipped to handle them, some of that could stem from their offensive orientation through coach Andy Reid. “The Bills are where we all want to be, constantly on primetime, and winning a lot of games that aren’t very close,” a coach from another team said. “I really don’t think this is something that is in the mindset of their team. But just think about how good Kansas City is at the end of the half or late in the games. Most of these situations are on offense. They teach everyone who catches the ball to call timeout and they constantly score and they take defensive timeouts to get into those situations. Since Kansas City is trying to do it, they are good at it. Buffalo is trying to be good at it more erratically and at unplanned times, so it is harder to be as good at it.”" So basically - this coach is suggesting that having a defense-minded HC is part of the issue with the Bills' lack of execution at the end of games. I don't fully follow this, as (i) the "13 seconds" debacle had nothing to do with the offense; and (ii) Belicheck is a defensive HC and is one of the best ever at situational football. But it's still interesting.
  18. I mean, this is a team message board the day after a ridiculously dumb loss and a connected reporter sent out a tweet literally inviting speculation... that's why "I know something but am not going to say it" is such a silly thing for a reporter to put out there.
  19. I am not sure what is going on with Josh. His head seems to be spinning right now. Part of the issue may be that Dorsey, personality-wise, is too similar to Josh and maybe Josh needs a governor, not a fuel injector. But to me the bigger issue is a lack of a coherent plan on offense - both from a game planning and roster management standpoint. How did it come to be that they kept SIX running backs active yesterday and managed to use NONE of them in the second half with a big lead? The roster decisions, I understand, are made by Beane with input from McD - where is Dorsey in that process and if the answer is "nowhere," what the hell is going on at OBD?
  20. Three things not on the same page: McD's vision for the offense, the assets Beane shops for, and Dorsey's game planning. There's your internal dysfunction.
  21. Ah yes the bi-annual “Wawrow hints…” thread.
  22. They say eventually you’ll go blind…
  23. The problem is he’s basically unfireable unless they flame out for the next three years. Ownership is weak and has zero track records. In many ways McDermott has more power, albeit less authority, than Terry.
