  1. What an absolute disaster of a PC. Not as bad as Whaley’s “I’m not privy” face-plant but damn close. Beane fitted his neck for the guillotine today. Shocking lack of accountability and an insult to the fans who understand there are multiple ways to build a winner.
  2. The press conference seemed aimed at lowering expectations. That ain’t good for Beane’s job security.
  3. He can throw himself under the bus. Personal accountability, which is usually something he's good at. His scouting/pro personnel efforts have been utter garbage and have done very little to help the team compete post-2018.
  4. Yep. This was always the most likely outcome and it's how most conservatively-run teams operate. Unless Frazier decides to retire or transition to a league administrative role, I don't see any real changes coming.
  5. Yep - the problem is the front office more than coaching. The drafts have been bad; incredibly, pro personnel scouting has been even worse. ONE value free agent (DaQuan Jones) in Beane’s entire tenure. ONE.
  6. Tipster needs to stop starting threads.
  7. Both things can be true. They had energy but no more resilience left.
  8. Those of you with uniform fetishes are a truly odd breed of fan.
  9. They really need to overhaul the entire scouting/pro personnel department because they're not cutting it. The ONLY value free agent Beane has signed is Jones. The entire 2022 draft class was a nonfactor during the 2022 season. Their scouting and player acquisition strategy have been C-level and with Allen graduating to a high cap hit, that's a recipe for disaster if it's not fixed.
  10. As others have said - he’s Big Ben, but instead of getting drafted into a storied franchise in the toughest division in football, he got drafted by a soft team in a finesse division. Picture Big Ben having gone to Atlanta and that’s Josh right now.
  11. Going from mediocre to good is easier than going from good to elite. Same in any business: that final 7% is the toughest. Not sure McDermott has it in him. Love him as a leader and he’s a fantastic program builder. These next few weeks will tell us if he’s really able to adapt and self-scout. I have my doubts that he has the courage to throw his number 2 to the curb, let alone axe Josh’s choice for OC.
  12. Allen has to spend the whole offseason thinking about becoming a grownup. Burrow showed that a QB has to manipulate the defense with his eyes and his brain. Allen has spent too much of the year trying to break the opposing defense with “brute force.” It doesn’t work and it’s going to get him killed.

  14. They have to focus their energies on finding a new LT which will solve two problems when you slide Dawkins to LG. Add a bunch of speed to the offense and let ‘er rip. Trade Oliver and maybe Davis in the service of getting a new LT. Let Poyer walk. Edmunds is the hardest call.
  15. Lol they literally gave him no help and asked him to carry the entire team on his back and he almost did it.
  16. I’m sorry I won’t get to watch Josh for nine months. And I feel bad for him because his organization hung him out to dry this year. But today wasn’t really a surprise.
  17. @Logic @eball @PromoTheRobot
  18. Nope you’re not my dad but missing from your accountability list is yourself, one of several folks here who shouts down anyone who points out a flaw until YOU are ready to have an honest conversation. It’s exhausting.
  19. Oh so now it’s ok to be critical of the team @Logic?
  20. You’re just wasting your energy.
  21. They’re not firing anyone or changing anything.
  22. You’ve got essentially an absentee/fanboy owner who is dealing a lot of personal stuff. There’s no accountability because there’s no boss.
