The Chiefs picked a RB in the 7th round in 2022 who is far better than the RB the Bills blew a 2nd round pick on in the same draft.

In a way Phillips being out was helpful - he was the biggest liability against the running game the first time they played the Jets, repeatedly lost his gap and it led to big plays (including on the last GW drive).

This guy and his dinosaur-brain... how come the Jets' receivers had no issues catching the ball yesterday?

Scheme is a problem but the bigger problem IMO appears to be practice habits and McDermott knows it based on his sideline remarks yesterday. They are just not crisp at all in their routes, blocking angles, etc. Something is off in the way they practice on offense.

Hodgins is not an outside WR, he's basically a "big slot" type aka David Nelson (but not as fast).

Not only is there too little creativity/too much predictability in scheme (even Romo knew it would be a running play when Diggs left the field), the offense has zero physicality or heart to it other than Allen and Diggs. They are SOFT mentally and physically. Talent-wise, McKenzie should not be a starter on a supposedly good offense. Cook has never broken a tackle in his life. Saffold is a disgrace - he is stealing money from his employer. Even Dawkins seems out of shape, his "always something" approach to physical maintenance has started to catch up with him. Spencer Brown has not improved as a player. Davis has become an afterthought. They have zero backup tight ends. Just a staggering lack of talent across the board stemming directly from an under-investment.

McKenzie is legit the worst starting player in the league on offense. And I’ve watched Mack Hollins plenty. McKenzie is worse. He is a negative play in a uniform.

The "we can't catch a break" crowd is projecting their own life-pessimism onto the Bills. A less-talented Bills team was one coaching-related brain-fart away from putting away a more talented Chiefs team. Every team suffers injuries. Not every team chases a ring like the Bills did this offseason. It's unfortunate that this particular signing didn't work out but it was the right move. But as I said upthread, the smarter path to success would be to lean into the strength of the team, JA17, and focus on protecting him and giving him weapons.

Yes, absolutely. Lean into your strength. Plus offensive production is generally more consistent year to year.

Signing him was a good move, it just didn't work out. They really have to start spending the resources on offense though.

Is it replicant week at TSW?

I actually think SF is the perfect offense and landing spot for him. Shanny runs an offense where the reads are well-defined and simple, and pocket mobility is hugely important. Really good fit and I could see him being successful there.

Focus more than confidence. They minded their fundamentals yesterday. Looked far more precise in just about everything including the playcalling. One thing I have to give McD major props for is his laser-focus on beating the Pats and the Chiefs the past few years. They really turn it up a notch in those games and it’s impressive.

He’s the best player on that defense IMO and he’s going to get a monster contract in a few years - like $150M type contract. He’s an absolute game wrecker. I could not be higher on him .
