    He’s not wrong. This is the second most important offseason of Beane’s career and it’s going to define him as a GM. Make the offense around Allen unstoppable or fall further behind in the AFC arms race. They don’t give out prizes for cap management.

    Relatedly - he’s never been known as a practice player - all kinds of issues in Houston with showing up and going hard in practice. Coupled with the age and the PED issues and there’s some serious red flags. But still - he has vice-grip hands and remains an elite talent. Probably a risk worth taking.

    Agreed. For most of the season he was the best player on the D line. His season ended with a thud but overall I thought he was not the problem. Just fyi she’s almost 60.

    I’ve been hard on Beane for failing to find value in FA but so far this offseason he’s done just that.
