  1. In retrospect yeah. They would’ve had to have known Penix would be available at 8 when they paid that contract. Now they’re going to hand a cap-crushed team to a promising young QB who will need talent around him? Bizarre is right, seems like a failure of process. Raiders are arguably in better shape long term with zero QBs than the Falcons are with two. (But the Raiders should’ve went and got Fields when they had the chance.)
  2. Whatever. Dude has made like a billion dollars for being a mediocre QB and an All Pro businessman. Zero tears shed.
  3. You know who made some money tonight? Spencer Brown. Right tackles are about to get PAID if this draft is predictive.
  4. He knows, he fancies himself a comedian and we're a semi-captive audience.
  5. Yup I expect that as well. Beane is going to have to stay aggressive in this draft just to keep up - folks treat the draft like it's Christmas morning but forget to pay attention to what the Bills' competitors are coming home with in the weeks leading up to the event. The Jets and Chiefs are going to have much-improved rosters on Sunday; the Dolphins and Patriots too but they're just less scary as threats. But I can easily see a scenario where the Jets suddenly have two stud WRs and the Chiefs load up on offensive weapons as well.
  6. That is my exact concern.
  7. Odunze to the Jets, Worthy to the Dolphins will send this board into a tailspin...
  8. McCarthy?? Or Nabers.
  9. Sounds like the kind of thing the Bills would put out there through Simms…
  10. Suggest you check back Friday morning.
  11. It's out there - he has a shoulder injury that is not considered serious and won't be an issue past this upcoming season.
  12. This is your pattern - you have like 5-6 great posts in a row and then you take a crap on the forum.
  13. And not for nothing but Beane has publicly lamented about not "bottoming out" like the Bengals did when they were able to draft Chase. If you think you need a Chase to get past early-round playoff exits (and I think they might need that, or at least believe that they do), you make the sacrifice, go get one and figure out next year's draft next year.
  14. A trade up for Worthy - and taking him before Thomas is even off the board - is very possibly the surprise Beane move we’re all talking about Friday morning.
  15. I know it and you're right. But still... that was a game that was there for the taking (they pulled away late) and they would not let him throw the ball. How can he be a top five pick in that scenario? It would be unprecedented. But I guess maybe he was just hurt and they were trying to power through it.
  16. I just can't get past that Penn State game. I get that he was hurt but they were hiding him - they would not let him throw the ball.
  17. He supposedly is just not very bright - he may just be answering honestly.
  18. They are trying to sell PSLs for a new stadium. Among like 10k other reasons why this would be insane.
  19. Been saying it. Find a way to come away with 2 of the top 6-8 receivers in this draft. Plus another one later and a few more UDFAs.
  20. The Chiefs LOVE Polk and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s their first round pick.
  21. I oddly think he could be used as a "big slot" type (spare me the "your mom" jokes here please). When you watch him run drills he's surprisingly fluid and agile. Maybe he'd be better off on the move than as a boundary receiver.
  22. Just fyi, that same piece by McGinn notes concerns about Legette's intelligence. He's not only a one-year wonder but he's also a late bloomer and the whispers are that it's because he's just not very bright (or perhaps, to be fair, learning disabled). In any event I would think that's just as much if not more of a red flag for this regime than Mitchell's Type 1 diabetes. This regime likes students of the game.
