That's what happens when you have a good run blocking O-Line and are put on a run heavy team. Zach Moss isn't as bad as he looked when he was here, but he's also not as good as he looks in Indianapolis right now.
-
Good sign - he got the pressure leading to the sack. Bad sign, obviously, the limp. Hopefully he's okay. He needs to get 100% healthy. Seems we rushed him on the field. This idea that he played at the level he did and now he's just toast - I don't buy that.

A trade is the only way to save the season
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could see that. I could also see Levi Wallace being traded for. As McDermott is only ever interested in Defensive players that know his scheme. See: Dean Marlowe and AJ Klein last season and Josh Norman this season. -

Pulled. McDermott talked about it in his presser. -

Mike Evans is having an amazing year on a .500 team. The Bucs season isn't dead. They aren't going to Trade him. They weren't interested in Trading him during the Offseason - they're definitely not interested now. Davante Adams is impossible. We couldn't afford him even if the Raiders took on a massive cap hit this season. Even if they did, the cost for him in compensation between the talent he is and the money they'd be taken on would be so great, there's no way we'd do it. Both are an absolute pipe dream. 0 possibility of happening. DeAndre Hopkins or Jerry Jeudy are possibilities and even they aren't likely. -
We've lost the best player on 3 levels of our Defense - Matt Milano at LB, Tre White at CB, and Daquan Jones at Interior D-Line. Not to mention we didn't have Ed Oliver today. Not to say that today or the last few weeks have been acceptable. But when you're starting guys like Tim Settle, Dane Jackson, and Dorian Williams in their stead - that's a massive dropoff. This is not the same Defense that we saw the first few weeks.

Thank you! Feels like 50% of the posts these days are "trade for so and so". Trades are exceedingly rare in the NFL. The deadline is a yearly nothing burger. Teams don't do rentals like the NHL or the NBA. All Draft picks are important. Especially in the cap situation we're in this year, next year, and the amount of FA's we have coming up to be re-signed or replaced. Yet people want to act like it's not a real thing or that Brandon Beane is the type of GM to go New Orleans style and worry about it later, like they would.

All In? How so? If you're saying All In on being sellers - I refer to my original response to your post. I see you talking about trading Knox in posts. No one's taking on Knox's contract for what he brings to the table. It's crazy we did. Who wants him with how he's performing? If you're saying All In on making trades - we can't afford anything crazy. Something like Levi Wallace or (I hate that I'm even invoking his name) DeAndre Hopkins is doable (costs just over a million). But things like Davante Adams, Derrick Henry, or Saquan Barkley are not feasible.
-
And we're already 34 million over the cap next season.

WR2 isn't going to change Dorsey's playcalling or Josh running for his life every time he snaps the ball. It's not going to fix not having our best player on 3 levels of our Defense and us giving up 29 against Mac Jones and a 1-5 team. .... but it is a shiny present and fun, so it will probably win the poll.
-
I don't even remember seeing the guy on the field. How many snaps did he even have? It's going to take some time for him to get back into playing shape. It's going to take even longer when he's barely even getting warmed up on the field. I get wanting to keep him fresh for the Playoffs. But if things keep going the way they're going, that's far from a given.

A trade is the only way to save the season
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
"Only"? I'd say not running for his life the second he snaps the ball play after play and better playcalling are much more vital to helping Allen. But those things aren't a shiny toy... -
Oliver and Diggs contracts are untradable. And it would be dumb to move on from them. Epenesa has half of a season under contract. No one's going to give us anything for that when it's going to take most of that time to get up to speed with the playbook. And why would anyone want Knox, Dawkins, or Poyer's contracts? No one's going to want any of them and why tear it down for the nothing returns we'd get for any of them? This ain't the NHL or the NBA. The trade deadline is a nothing burger in the NFL. Trades are exceedingly rare. Yet posters like to treat it like it's a feast every season.

A trade is the only way to save the season
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
A trade on Offense is not going to turn this into a Championship team. We've lost our best player on 3 different levels of our Defense. Interior D-Line, Linebacker, and Cornerback. And we don't have the quality depth behind them. We just gave up 29 on a 1-5 team. Another stud WR isn't going to make us a super powered offense that can overcome that on a week to week basis. Especially with the way the OL is playing and the performance of our OC. Could it help? Yes. Save the season? No. Doubly so when we have no money this season, are 34 million over the cap next season, and need the Draft picks to replace some of the MANY FA's we have next year. It's fun to play Madden GM and say things like "I don't care what it takes - do it". But it isn't reality. -
Bills @ Patriots Game thread - 2nd half

Did you hear me say the Offense looked great today? No, I didn't think so. Even still, we put up 25. On a bad day. But our Defense being in the shape it's in, gave up 29 against a 1-5 team. To me, that's the bigger issue long term. The offense has the players to bounce back. On Defense, I think it just is what it is. -
This season is a wash…time to focus on rebuild m
BillsFanForever19 replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rebuild implies tearing it completely down to the studs and starting from scratch. That's not happening here. We have more core pieces (and at key positions) who are solid and under contract then pieces/positions where we don't. There will be players coming in and going out. But there will be no rebuild. -

We lost our best player on 3 levels of our Defense. Daquan Jones on Interior, Matt Milano at Linebacker, and Tre White at Corner. Even when we're completely healthy with what we have available (which didn't happen today and won't happen often) - it's just too much to overcome and expect to be a serious Contender. -

There's more starters that will be kept and are under long term deals than players who won't. There's a core to this team. Lots of depth guys and a fair amount of starters will be replaced. But total rebuild? No way. -

Two 1-5 teams back to back. We were lucky to squeeze out the win last week and we'll be really lucky to squeeze this one out, if we can. Luckily, it's mid-October. But it appears obvious that the injuries to Milano, White, and Jones are just too much to overcome Defensively to be a serious Contender. -

Worried about Josh's shoulder. His throws are just consistently off the mark. -
Ridiculousness of signing Cole Beasley aside, if someone were to be cut on this roster, Poona Ford would not be a shockingly laughable cut. He spent most of the season as a healthy scratch. Has ridiculously underperformed expectations. When activated, he played terribly. Kendall Vickers has been activated off the Practice Squad and played instead of him. He hasn't been remotely close to the guy we thought we were getting when we signed him.
-
He's averaging 37 yards a game, 15 yards in his last outing. Has been making news for all the wrong reasons. Will need to learn the playbook on the fly with a coach who doesn't play new players until they've gotten every minute detail down. Even Running Backs. I can't see how he's a "winning it all" type of move. Again, I'm not paying more than a 4th for that kind of gamble with what we have financially and what's coming up in the Offseason.
-
Does he? He's done little to nothing this season outside of run off at the mouth on Twitter, underperform, and put forth such lackluster effort that Mark Schlereth called for flat out cutting him. And even if he did buy in to McDermott's process and fit in fine, the way he brings along new players gives me little hope he'd see the field enough to make an impact. If you think Jerry Jeudy is going to take us from where we are to "winning it all" - you're greatly exaggerating what he brings to the table on a surefire basis. It's a very boom or bust type move. Just as likely, if not more, to yield little to no results or be a complete mess than it is to provide a massive impact. And I'm not paying more than a 4th for that.
