  1. I don't imagine Morse coming back, esp. if he suffered another concussion yesterday. That easily creates the biggest hole in the OL and should be the number 1 priority in the offseason. He's the undeniable leader of the OL. I don't hate Brown as much as others, provided his back holds out. He needs help in pass pro sometimes, esp. when a team goes wide 9, but then, most OT's do. But he can move people in the run game. Its the interior that needs the most work.
  2. Wonderful life; Joyeux Noel; A Christmas Carol...pick em on who plays Scrooge. Christmas Vacation; Charlie Brown; Pee Wee Christmas Look at that cavalcade of late 80's A and B list celebrities who pop into the Playhouse for holiday greetings
  3. And it could just be a personality/power thing between him and Vrabel..or someone else. It happens sometimes. Kansas City is a good example. John Dorsey was fired in 2017, only a few months after creating the trade for Mahomes with the Bills. They had been to the playoffs 3 straight years at the time. The reason given was his lack of communication skills, which seemed kinda bogus at the time. But Andy Reid never answered to Dorsey, he answered only to Clark Hunt. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the situation in Tenn. Big egos in powerful positions. Often, one of them has to go.
  4. The worst part about it,for Denver fans at least, it that everyone claimed that all they needed was a QB. And that still may be true, well along with dumping Hackett. They are still top 3 in the league in points allowed. Im sure another OC and QB could find a way to use Jeudy and Sutton. A few weeks ago, I caught a Shannon Sharpe rant about them. He went through their offense for the past 5 years, giving the points scored by each season's offense and said that with each of those offenses , Denver would be close to the top of the division and in the playoff hunt. I dont know if they could have come up with a worse trade/coaching hire if they tried.
  5. 9th. Going the "common opponent" routine can be rough, but they did beat up on Missouri worse than any SEC team did except Tennessee. And that includes Georgia. https://mutigers.com/sports/football/schedule/2022
  6. So I was taking my car in for tires this morning, and since it was cold, I had on my slightly battered, vintage Super Bowl era Starter jacket. The manager of the Goodyear Center said, "Oh, I love that." Not the usual reaction you get when you live 1100 miles from Buffalo and only 70 miles from Arrowhead. It turns out he's from Batavia so we talked Bills, last year's playoff game and Buffalo foods for 15 minutes. OK, people behind me were getting annoyed, but screw 'em.
  7. He did. With an incredible record in D-III. But I hope not. KU has needed a football coach since they fired Mark Mangino. It isn't a coincidence when people say..."this is the first time KU has won 4 games since 2009", that it was the Mangino era. Though its a basketball school, obviously, it would be bad to see them competitive in football. For the first time in forever, they sold out their last 2 games. In terms of contract, Leipold is signed through 2027, originally signing in 2021 with another year added this fall. There is a buy out clause going in both directions. If he's fired, he gets some money, if he goes elsewhere, KU gets some money. He gets a few million a year, but nowhere near what the bigger name coaches are getting. I don't know what the NCAA rules are as far as contacting a coach under contract with another school. I have the feeling they'd look the other way, even if it is against the rules. I could understand why the guy would leave, Im sure it would be his dream job. In that sense, it would be like when Roy Williams left KU for North Carolina. I just hope he sticks around.
  8. I've always liked the back story for the song, as it was sung in the movie, Suicide is Painless. Director Robert Altman wanted the song to be the stupidist song ever written. He tried it himself but it wasn't stupid enough. So he asked his teenage son to write the lyrics. He did, in a few minutes. The rest is history. Altman liked to point out that due to royalties from the song, his son made exponentially more than he did for directing the entire movie. Stupid indeed.
  9. The Bills game at Arrowhead...$260 is the cheapest seat, through Vivid Seats, which usually puts on a $30-40 administrative fee on top. For the rest of the Chiefs' games at Arrowhead, the same seats are going for between $120 and $150. It is easily the hottest ticket of the season. Last year for the playoff game at Arrowhead, we got endzones for about $100 a piece. But then, we got them in that little window 48 hours before game time where the price drops. This is the price of success, I guess.
  10. He's really doing a nice job at Kansas so far. 3-0 start with 2 come from behind upset wins. The Houston game wasn't even that close. His offense is fun to watch and the pathetic defense is improving. Kansas has been looking for someone since they fired Mangino. Turner Gill, Charlie Weis, Les Miles, etc. They have him for 5 years, including this year. He's going to move on after that and move to an elite program.
  11. Would any player really want to be in Nick Saban's locker room right now? I have the feeling he had them running wind sprint on Texas' practice field before he let them in the locker room.
  12. I ain't got nothing to say, but they do.
  13. I just love the quote on his draft profile from NFL.com Sources Tell Us "Better person than player and he is a hell of a player. You have to make your focus all the things he does well because he's going to keep doing them as a pro." -- Personnel director for AFC team
  14. Every Pass and Run from him last night. IDK..there are times he might have stayed in the pocket a little longer, but to me, for the most part, his Oline wasn't doing him many favors. He took one sack outside the tackle box that he should have thrown away, but there were also times when he avoided a sack that few QB's could. I thought he showed decent accuracy on the run and nice touch. He's a rookie in his first playing time. I've seen far worse from rookie QB's in that situation.
  15. Miller was indeed a stud in college. When teams in the then Big 8 actually played defense, he had good games vs Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri. When his career ended, he had the 4th most rushing yards in NCAA history. It was the end of the OJ era and he was traded to the 49ers that year. I wanted the BiIls to draft Miller as the heir apparent to OJ, (OJ lite). And they did. And...he failed. I can still remember an older cousin coming to visit after being away at college and asking, "How's the new guy Miller doing?" My dad and I both said, "He's not exactly setting the world on fire." Yeah, he had 1000 yards his rookie year, but fully 1/3 of those yards came in 2 late season games against 2 of the worst run D teams that year. There was a reason they drafted Cribbs in the 2nd round in 1980 and a reason Cribbs took over from the get go. History would be repeated a few years later when TT was drafted in the second...and took over the running duties from former 1st round pick Ronnie Harmon. Miller was more of a No Year Wonder than a One Year Wonder. I think he was more worried about his banking career than his football career.
  16. Yeah, as soon as the article had Kingsbury at #4, you can stop reading. As they were getting blown out by the Rams in the playoffs, the network put up stats on his record after week 7, (both NFL and college) and it was striking. As bad as Kyler Murray was playing in that game, I almost think they put it up to say, "Hey, this isn't all on Kyler Murray". His second half of the season record isn't something that makes someone a great coach. And most certainly not No. 4 in the NFL.
  17. Why fighting or trying to outsmart squirrels is a losing battle: My power went out three times this week. Three power outages, three dead squirrels. My nephew sent me the video today after the latest squirrel suicide. Most might have seen it already, since it has 90 million views, but it is incredible to watch. Luckily, there is enough bird life in my back yard that I don't need bird feeders.
  18. The funniest part of the video was when they showed Telesco the scene where Costner makes his first pick and showing the boos from the Radio City crowd, the Cleveland bars, etc...Telesco just says "been there". I don't if they put enough pressure on Kevin Costner in the movie. His dad, a legendary Cleveland coach, died a week before the draft. This was the same dad/coach who Costner fired the season before; His secret girlfriend announced she was pregnant the night before the draft; His owner is demanding he "make a splash" in the draft; He's got a coach he never wanted to hire and doesn't like; His mother and ex wife show up with his dad's ashes a few hours before the draft demanding an ashes scattering ceremony; HIs scouts apparently hadn't done any homework on the QB he is intending to draft; IDK...maybe they could have added a few things like...he had a leg amputated and a lung removed a few days before the draft...or his brother Fredo went behind his back to be screwed over by the Rooney Family. Or something.
  19. Simms had Rousseau to the Bills in his mock draft last year. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/chris-simms-nfl-mock-draft-justin-fields/zr85rseup85q1hfzxo2jmyf5q Of course, he could have just gotten lucky.
  20. A good GM earns his keep on days 2 and 3. Not to say that you can keep missing on No. 1 picks...like every Jet GM for the past 20 years, but you build your team after day 1. As much as people say there is a limit of Round 1 grades this year, that may be true. But it doesn't mean the day 2 and 3 players are all mediocre. Quite to the contrary, IMO. There is a really good pool of outstanding athletes who have produced, but usually at a lower level of competition. Troy Anderson - N Dakota St. Christian Watson - N. Dakota St. Pierre Strong - S. Dakota St. Zyon McCollum - Sam Houston St. Danny Gray- SMU Tycen Anderson - Toledo to name a few. Put their physical numbers against most of the first round guys and they equal or exceed them. Some are better athletes than given credit, like Chenal of Wisconsin. His RAS is outstanding...he just needs proper training on pass pro. Thorton of Baylor ran a sub 4.3 40 and is 6'3"...and can go up and get the ball...he just needs to put on 15-20 pounds. He's a bean pole, but a stronger bean pole than he looks. Honestly, this a draft pool that would make John Butler salivate. And the beauty is, with the way the current roster is, you can afford to take a chance on one or more of these guys. You don't have to take only "pretty good players", who will never be more than pretty good. Just my opinion, but I expect a good, solid, contributing starter in round 1, but have the feeling the true stud comes in a later round.
  21. Ok. You have some who emphasize arm length. Some who emphasize RAS. Fine. Don't take any chances. Zyon McCollum CB Sam Houston State Height: 6-2 | Weight: 199 | RAS: 10 Arms 30 3/4" Take him in the 3rd after taking McDuffie in the 1st. God, I'm turning into DIck Jauron...excuse me while I go upchuck.
  22. Yeah, I replied because...something don't seem right there. Is it possible this Joe Marino guy misread a stat? The Tweet didn't get much traction. It had a single like and I don't see that stat being mentioned anywhere else. I assume it came from PFF, who do those type of stats and I don't have a subscription for them. But according PFF, the guy led the entire NCAA in yards after contact over the past 2 years. In addition, according to PFF, they admiringly point out that Hall broke 74 tackles last year, an increase over 2020. "2. Breece Hall, Iowa State BIG BOARD RANK: 57 Iowa State may have taken a step backward, but Hall was as strong as ever in 2021. In fact, he raised his total to 74 broken tackles this season from 63 last year. He’s got an all-around skill set and NFL size at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds." (Walker broke 89 last season) https://www.pff.com/news/draft-top-2022-nfl-draft-rankings-running-backs-kenneth-walker-breece-hall-isaiah-spiller-2 So...the guy who led the entire country in YAC over the past 2 years...and who broke more tackles than last season....is also the worst in his own conference in YAC? Including back ups? If this anomaly is true, you'd think a stat site like PFF would point out the inconsistency. You know, something like, "he breaks a lot of tackles, but he trips over his feet every time he does. " All I've seen is a single tweet to the contrary. If the implication is that he is a soft running back...good luck with that. He's no Earl Campbell or Derrick Henry, and it would be foolish to make him play that way. But he's also not a guy that goes down as soon as he's touched. But enough of that, I don't want him in the 1st anyway.
  23. And? Going by your figures, nearly 1/2 of his total rushing yards came after contact. That's ...bad?
