  1. I'll take an 80 yr old Marv over a 50 yr old GW or MM any day.
  2. Ganesh actually is right. MW, if you watch him only during running plays dominates most DL in the league. He has won the battles consistently with Ty Warren of the Pats in the past. I know he is overpaid (just like 95%) of 1st round draft picks, but he is a force in the running game.
  3. Poor planning by the coaches. No QB draws, no bootlegs, no roll-outs nothing to keep a DL off balance. Just 5-7 step drops and QB pressures (except later in the game the 3 step drops). Why not take advantage of your QBs best asset? Also it slows down the rush to help your OL. Seems pretty obvious but I guess they see it differently.
  4. Bring back Marv! He could/would put a winning attitude back into this franchise. He has something the current coaching staff doesn't---respect. Sam Wyche has respect from the guys given everything he has done in the past. Marv can manage situations with players and they like playing for him.
  5. TD wouldn't pay the extra 1.5M/year for a known All Pro caliber DL. Facing Adams and Wiliams is a lot tougher than Anderson and Sape/Bannon. Second and third and 1 is a lot easier to convert than 3rd and 8. Yes, that's how one player leaving has a major effect. You can fill in at CB a lot easier than a top notch DL. Pay a bit more money for the OL and DL.
  6. Thing is sometime you have to overpay at vital positions especially for your own players. And paying PW an extra 1.5M/year would not have broken the bank or cap at all. If he increased the offer by that much/year PW would be a Bill. An extra 1.8% of the cap is hardly overpaying or going to break the cap.
  7. You could probably put Lionel Gates behind a good OL and get the same production. Having a great OL makes a lot of backs look good. All the U Miami guys want to play in Florida--they don't like cold weather. I think they should get over it but some of them can't/don't. That is really something the management has to take into consideration when drafting. But maybe Willis will get traded to Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota, Cleveland, either NY team, New England, Cinci, Phila, or Pittsburgh. Or maybe he'll realize over half the teams in the NFL are cold weather teams.
  8. Marv as coach is great with me---even at his age. Players loved playing for him. If not him I'd be fine with Teddy Cottrell.
  9. He is quick and elusive but never had "blazing speed" He is fast but not the fastest guy on the team. He will reain a very good punt returner and a good weapon offensively, but never more than a third/slot receiver because of size. And that's fine.
  10. I wish the defense had 11 Fletchers! He has the heart you want on a team.
  11. Keith is 100% right! For those saying we don't need Moulds take a look how are offense did against the 31st ranked pass defense. That's right there is only one other defense worse against the pass than the Pats and our Moulds-less receiving corps surely looked great. For those pointing to his 9.5 yards per catch, you're missing so much else. He gets double teamed and when he doesn't (look at the 1st Pats game for a comparison) he makes the defense pay. He makes Evens better and every other receiver out there better. It's no coincidence that the worst offensive performance of the year was without him in the lineup. He is not the receiver he once was but he is still a VERY valuable weapon on this team. How did Peerless Price's career go after he no longer had Moulds?
  12. Again---it's the offensive line! Funny thing how Tom Brady who had never played a down in the NFL took that same OL to a SB championship. How come you never heard about the bad OL play once Brady started?
  13. Donahoe has brought in good players through the draft and free agency but brought in weak coaches. He had the chance--twice now! to pick the right/better coaches but failed. That, in the end will be his downfall. In a lot of ways he tried to outsmart himself much like our offensive "geniuses" do! Take the safe/smart pick (Fox,Cottrell or the second time Weiss) and things would have been a bit different I think.
  14. That was the last exciting time for the Bills--'98-'99 seasons. Wow, has it been a long time.
  15. I come from New England to the games and am not going this week. I can't even give the tix away to any friends and family in Buffalo--that's a bad sign!
  16. Even with the egos on the teams of the early 90's you didn't see the circus, chaotic environment that you do now. Once they started bickering Marv would talk with them, fine them and they would go out and play. $10,000 is a lot even to these guys. Fine them, give the money to charity and keep it in house. Mularkey is running a circus. He could completely lose this team if they lose badly tomorrow.
  17. Most every draft pick in the top 10 is a BUST if you consider their value. Many are good players that don't warrant their huge salaries. MW is the same way. This season he was in the best shape of his career and he ended up injured most of the time. He is probably our best lineman when healthy. He is a good lineman, not great like you would want a top OL to be. I would keep him if he takes a paycut on his salary and agrees to increase it through bonus money. I could easily see him going to another team and playing very well.
  18. TD is signed thru 2008--not sure Ralph wants to pay 2 GMs for the next 3 years. Also he probably doesn't want to pay 2 coaching staffs for the next couple years.
  19. Not easy to find a WR anywhee near the caliber of player of Moulds. If you can it's TO. Also, you cut Moulds and pay another receiver 3M and end up saving a couple million on the cap, and that is what you would have saved by renegotiating his contract. You still have a WR in Moulds that is consistently double teamed, when he is not he gets open, and he is still productive. Keep him and renegotiate his contract. It's actually as cheap and better.
  20. I would hate to see this offense without Moulds. Guess we'll see this weekend. They should be able to pass for over 300 yards as most teams in the NFL have been able to against the Pats. If the offense doesn't put up more than 21 points then that is not a good sign.
  21. Sorry for your loss---it really puts everything in perspective.
  22. Who does Losman throw to when Evans is double teamed? Yes, you Moulds detractors are so right. Prior to this whole fiasco I bet he would have stayed for a cut in salary and then a chance to make up the difference in incentives. So you cut him to save 5M on the cap and pay another WR to come in and make 3-4M effectively saving a whole 1M to cut E Moulds.
  23. Not many coaches are three time SB champs as an OC! Actually I can't think of any. He had the best resume by far!
  24. Don't be surpsided to see him in a Pats jersey next year! Belichick always says great things about the guy. Here in Boston even after games--like this year at Foxboro--he will bring up Moulds' name. Moulds would surely sign for like 2M/year to play on a contender at this stage of his career. Brady to Moulds--I wouldn't be surprised.
  25. Why don't they just fine him like Levy used to do privately to players. Fine him 20G and make a point internally to the player and the team. Don't cause a media and team circus like this!
