I agree. He provides depth and re-signing him at a decent number is fine with me.

Why is it wrong to profile those who commit terrorism? They're are the ones doing it so big deal if they are profiled. Look, there are limited resources so why waist it on people obviously not commiting the violent acts just to be politically correct. If a ssomeone committed murder in my neighborhood who had similar hair color, height and race as me I would expect to be profiled. Big deal if you have nothing to hide!

It will not be the panacea people want but it would help. My problem is that they are diluting the Niagara Falls casino and its revenue. Why not build another one up there with a different theme and start developing the area around it. Why split all the people, visitors in between Buffalo and NF? Two Falls' casinos would be nice and compete with the Ontario ones. I do not think gambling is the big evil so many detractors make it out to be. For areas like WNY it has created more jobs than anything else in recent memory. Yes more than Geico, etc... Obviously more jobs and opportunities are welcomed. The other big problem I have is that NYS should be like the provence of Ontario. Why not take the profits as a revenue stream for the state, God knows the state needs it despite being the most taxed state in the country. Instead the tribes collect the money and the state and area get a paltry contribution and the huge buildings do not generate any property tax revenue.

$100 is fine. Fairly standard at least for friends of mine.

If you can get him for about 5M-6M/year on average you do it. If he has a year like last year he is gone via free agency. Athletes tend to have great contract years, so I think he will have a very good year. Look at all the recent CB signings and they continue to go up which makes him very difficult and more expensive to sign.

Fisher hands down. It also helps mobilize fans in Rochester and regionalizes the franchise much better. As a small market team the Bills need that badly. Also Fisher's facilities are superior to Fredonia's. It was a great marketing move for the Bills.

Possible job in Mclean, Virginia
Ray replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would move there in a second. If you are working in McLean you don't have to live there, you can live a suburb or two away much cheaper. Great place to live (Northern VA), great weather, lots to do, easy access with the metro into DC. I lived in DC for 5 years. 60K is not going to take you as far as 60K in Buffalo. But I would live there over many places in the states. I like the area much better than the Carolinas and Georgia b/c there is much more to do, great history etc. You can live there if you don't have a lot of other debt and expenses. I say go for it!!!! -
I grew up there--great place to grow up! Also spent a few summers back there. Can be very, very fun--but I knew a lot of people already. Like many others have said it takes effort on your part and it is what you make of it. Job market is better than Buffalo, but I prefer Buffalo quite honestly. A bigger feel to it, better restaurants, professional teams of course. Cost of living is reasonable and when it comes down to it if you've got a great job lined up then go for it. Great jobs are hard to find. I would move out of Boston in a heartbeat if I didn't love my job so much. Out of necessity a job many times dictates where you live. I think many of us would love to move to Southern California, but we don't have jobs lined up that pay a million dollars a year to compensate for the high cost of living. Good luck

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Having lost a couple dogs in the past I know how difficult it is. Dogs really are the example how people should live--loyal friendly, love you no matter what. I know it is very tough, but you do get through it. Let little Wendell RIP--God bless

We are finally seeing the sun in New England for two whole days in a row!!!!! Yes the high will only be 59, but I'll take it. For those who always complain about Buffalo and upstate NY try moving to New England. While you were basking in the sun over the weekend we had to deal with a high of 45, rain and up to 50mph gusts of wind. Yes there is worse weather outside of WNY--there is plenty.

OT: My cousin Mark passed away today

Sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and your family -
So his choices were giving TH away for a fourth round pick, trading him for a LT the coaches don't want (so much for the TD imposing all of his demands theory), or keeping him around for insurance or for a trade with better value in the future. Sounds to me like he made the right decision.

Yes I live here in downtown Boston. It still amazes me how elitist this city is for essentially nothing. The weather is awful--more rain than Buffalo. Much more snobby people. Senators who should be in jail. They do have a great baseball tradition which I enjoy--even though I'm a Yankee fan. A great football team, but that team is closer to Providence! Way overrated city. NYC, Chicago much better. If it wasn't for my job I'd be out of here in a second. When you hear all the people make fun of Buffalo you can think of Boston too! Not that great of a city--although they like to think it is.

Brady stays in New England in the offseason and works out and studies film etc... That is something Drew never did in Buffalo or New England. I like JP's work ethic and it will help him big time. Preparing and being familiar with the team, personnel, their responsibilities will help this offense tremendously this year. Go JP, love what I'm hearing---of course we could all be singing a different tune come the season. But I don't remember RJ or Drew taking the offense by the horns like this.

PFW Evaluation of 2002 First Round Picks
Ray replied to Sound_n_Fury's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That can't be right! You mean at least through the first three years MW has performed better than BM. That just can't be right. What about all the "objective" observers here that claim Mckinnie is sooo much better. Guess they don't watch all the Vikings' games now do they? -
Shop at Wegmans whenever I'm back--sorry! I heard they were shutting down that Maple Drive Tops to renovate it until next summer.
-
It would be a lot different if TH was carrying a large cap figure. He has a cap number just over 1M and is a good back. Why give him away for nothing. What happens if WM injures himself in mini camp? What happens if another team's RB gets hurt, can't play and want to trade for Henry? Now that makes him a better deal. Why trade for a LT in Shelton that the coaches don't like, won't play and has a cap igure three times Henry? Why settle for a 4th round pick who most likely at best will be a ST contributor if we're lucky. Not doing anything at this point was the best thing since we couldn't get anything for him. You don't trade him for the sake of trading him!

HOLY COW! Rigas has to pay 715 million!
Ray replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way they get anywhere near that amount from the Rigases! They may have 50M at most in assets they can liquidate. A golf course in Coudersport, PA, worthless Adelphia stock. When you can't use your company as collateral anymore to take large sums of money you see you are not that rich. Sabres sold for what 50M, okay that is 2% of what they want! Good luck getting it! And thanks for screwing WNY and Buffalo and Empire while you were at it you greedy fools! -
If you draft for need and the the guy at the position you need isn't very good you haven't helped your team at all! Drafting a LT for the sake of drafting one doesn't help the team. If you have a chance to draft a playmaker and a potential standout TE over a lineman who is average you make those moves. We will know in 3 years if this was a good draft or not! People need to relax! The Pats draft two years ago was supposed to be disappointing--I hope we have a disappointing draft like that.

Trade Clements????? Uh, no!

Clements for a #9? Take it TD!!!!!!!!
Ray replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Having a slowing 33 year old injury prone guy as your top CB is a bit scary to me. TV is better as a free safety nowadays. I like TV....I just would not like the idea of him as our number one CB. To me that is crazy. -
AW did not want to be here. Clements likes the area and speaks very well of the people and Buffalo. He wants to stay. I agree with you that you sign proven players over unknowns. I think you can probably sign him for about 5M/year. Which if he has a great year is worth it! Especially as your punt returner as well!

Ray replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clements is one of the best players on the team! You realize that losing Clements means T McGee is our best CB don't you? He is a great KR but average CB. Let the year play out before giving away one of our best players. I wouldn't concede that he is gone at all. With Bledsoe's $4+ million off the books and a player or two restructuring we could sign him to a long term contract. Drafting a rookie to play CB and match up against some great receivers in our division is just dumb. -
You are exactly right! Why trade a known commodity who is one of your best players for a rookie and complete crapshoot! We can afford Clements--just pay him!
