  1. Just some thoughts on our guys. Since it is always better to keep your own just a few ideas. Sign Pat Williams first. He wants to be here so getting a deal should not be too difficult. Could probably sign him for a cap figure of around 3M--reasonable for a DL valuable to this team. Sign JJ if you can sign him for a cap figure of around 4M or a bit more. LT are difficult to find and overall he has performed well. He has handled DEs like Abraham rather well. When he was healthy against Abraham he never even got a sniff of Bledsoe. His one poor game was against the Jets when he should not have been playing b/c of his concussion. Sign Clements--I am worried he may go if left unsigned too long. You know some team will pay him 7-8M/year. I think the Bills could sign him for a 9-10M signing bonus and then giving him a high salary for the non-capped year. I believe it is '07 there is no salary cap. The fact Clements likes Buffalo and likes the team helps. I guess one big question is do the Bills/Ralph become willing to spend a bit more cash during the uncapped year of '07. We should be in good cap shape especially if Losman plays reasonably well and is our QB. His cap figure for the next 4 years would be quite manageable.
  2. A good kicker can easily change the game for better or worse. It's hard to believe a weeny little kicker has so much influence but they do. If you have a reliable kicker the Bills may have actually attempted half a dozen FGs more than they did. We seemed to have punted multiple times from the 33-36 yd line this season. Hey if your kicker makes 50% of those that changes the complexion of the game and how you approach things. Having a great FG%-age overall is not that impressive. Lindell was great from under 40, but NFL kickers should be. Where they make their money is from over-40, and he hasn't yet. He has a lot to prove.
  3. Hard to believe he was with the Bills for 4 years. A guy from So Cal in Buffalo was a big mismatch. I just hope JP is different. Man those were awful years.
  4. The Pats will promote from within. DC will likely be their D-backs coach. OC will likely be promoted from within as well. They have a great organization there and like the people they have for obvious reasons.
  5. Drew probably is a HOF QB. I know there are DB haters on this board but if you look at his numbers rationally and what he has done over his career he has HOF numbers. He is in the top 10 of all time passing leaders. That alone pretty much will make him a HOF QB. His skills are deteriorating now--we all see that. But he has had a great NFL career.
  6. Re-sign Nate soon. I'm sure the happiest person is his agent. His agent is probably counting the dollar signs. I don't know if the Bills give him the 6-8M/season some team will pay him if/when he reaches the FA market in a year.
  7. He's not big anough or physical enough to be a number one. He is a speed receiver. Hey, he can be happy he got his money.
  8. The thing is that those guys were 2nd-tier free agents. None of them were paid any grand sum of money like Wiley, Cowart, P Price and A Winfield. All of them combined don't even amount to Price's signing bonus. Our major FA aquisitions have been excellent and one of Donahoe's major accomplishments. Milloy, Adams, Spikes, Fletcher. Very good signings.
  9. great find! Why can wfan stream and wgr55 not?
  10. Too cold! Starting to contemplate the move down south again. Boston sucks!
  11. I agree this could be the year to draft a kicker--and with a high pick. We can draft for depth as well and address a coule needs in FA. Work at re-signing JJ, P Williams, and getting Nate Clements signed to a long term deal. Should be able to do that by re-structuring Moulds and cutting or cutting pay of Bledsoe.
  12. Worst cancer of a player you could bring to a team. Very, very bad idea. Next!
  13. A great kicker can actually change a game. Look at this year and a simple 28 yd FG. I think Lindell would have had a longer leash had he been able to actually make a FG over 40 yards. That really limits you. If this kid is that good I'd be happy with a solid kicker who is reliable for years as a 2nd round pick.
  14. I'd love to have Maddox come in as a back-up. One of the best if not THE best back-up in the league.
  15. I say we should have drafted him jokingly. Obviously the Pats didn't think he needed to be drafted taking him 200 picks after the draft started. Hey, it's a crapshoot and sometimes you do find the jewel. They did and were lucky. If they were so smart to begin with how come he was the back-up?
  16. Interesting how the season plays out if McGahee plays all season and starts those first 5 games. We'll never know. It is frustrating to have the number one ST and 2nd rated D and still not make the playoffs. That is bad!
  17. I'm fine with JP starting it just really worries me who the back-up is--this season could be disastrous at QB. Yes it can get worse than Bledsoe. How easily we forget the RJ 3-13 season. JP's mobility will counteract some blitzing and give the offense more options, but it could be a rough learning curve.
  18. Brady has won the Pats most dedicated player award the past couple seasons--player who spends the most time on film, weight room, etc.. during the season and in the offseason. He will be in Boston in March back at it again after taking a few weeks off from winning his 3rd SB by age 27. Darn Bills should have drafted him. Oh how it hurts. The Pats have Mo Lewis to thank for that hit.
  19. Throw in our whole offensive and defensive lines too. Then maybe it's a fair trade. Or....just maybe resign Jonas Jennings.
  20. I hope so to make the game somewhat entertaining. The Pats will shut him down too. Somehow, the Pats are playing two rookies as CBs (one an undrafted free agent) a guy out of the NFL until 10 days ago and a 4th round pick last year as their DBs. Still with that group they have shut down Manning w/o even a TD and now the Steelers and their three great WRs. Now that is great great coaching!!
  21. Okay Bills +2 against the NFC champs. Not bad for a team that didn't even make the playoffs. Eagles--not that good. Probably 9-7 or 10-6 if they play in the AFC east. They play in one of the worst divisions in football. If TO comes back it may mmake the game close for awhile but Pats probably win by at least two scores.
  22. I just wish we had a QB as bad as Brady. Face it the guy is classy and an awesome QB. Best QB in the league. Man that hurts to say, but it is so true. At least Drew can take solace in that he was replaced by the best QB of the past 4-5 years
  23. Pats by 10. There are half a dozen teams in the AFC--including the Bills who would be favorites against the Eagles.
  24. Are you kidding me? You do everything in your power to win a game. Ever see a team score 2 TDs in three minutes? I have. It was a great call--you do not play like a wuss towards the end of the game. Remeber it is Pittsburgh's responsibility to stop New England--it is not New Englands responsibility to stop themselves. If they were up by 28 points at the time it is different. 2 TDs is not that much with 5-6 minutes remaining. Bottom line: Great, great call!
