  1. McNair is not going anywhere to be a back-up. Get real. Maybe Tom Brady will quit the Pats to come to the Bills--do you think?
  2. Great arm, mobility, great athlete and QB from So Cal---just please don't put in a repeat performance of RJ!!
  3. Great post. He was valuable for this franchise and area. It didn't end the way any party hoped, but overall was a good thing. Some people have to realize that and stop their venomous attacks on the guy himself. Hey, he played in total about 1.25 seasons of good football over three years and did put in a Pro-Bowl performance at QB for the Bills the first season.
  4. You actually can get much worse than Drew (remember 3-13 with RJ the year before Drew). I hope JP is better by the coaches putting him in better positions, roll outs, bootlegs etc.. Also, because of his mobility it makes teams more hesitant to bring all out blitzes like they could do against Bledsoe. I just hope JP is studying his tail off and watching film constantly this offseason. Huge risk by the Bills, let's hope it pans out.
  5. He's doing the one thing Brady said he could do better than Bledsoe--work/prepare harder. I like the fact he is there first. Earns the respect of his teammates and especially the veterans. Much easier to work out at home in Venice Beach, but not nearly as productive. He needs SOOOOO much preparation and coaching, but glad he took the first step. Kudos to JP for that.
  6. Rocketbills you are right. He is a classy guy and he was the right choice at the right time for the Bills. RJ, Jeff Blake, a rookie (and none from that draft class have done anything) or Bledsoe. Those were our choices. Right choice at the time. He has always conducted himself with class. Some on this board are too mean-spirited but you've got to take the good with the bad. He shouldn't and doesn't deserve to be treated like a guy who was a cancer on the city. He is a good guy who has just taken too many hits and is aging. A great guy who was a very good QB. Good luck to wherever he goes.
  7. Sunniest city in the East from May thru Sept. More than Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, etc... Which of course means it is too darn gray in the winter, but Moulds is right. Great summers!
  8. Sign Jennings for a cap figure of around 5M/yr and you've got yourself a good deal. Face it, to sign any of the others Pace, Thomas etc will cost you much more for very little more in talent. Jennings is getting better and knows this team well. If we sign Jennings and Pat and get a legit TE then this team will have done its job in the offseason.
  9. Great, great news on Moulds. He loves Buffalo and I'm so glad he is staying.
  10. Garcia will be the best back-up out there. If JP struggles, and struggles a lot this season could be over in early October. I would feel much better having a proven vet backing him up. The problem is finding a veteran to come in to play back-up. Garcia still views himself as a number one QB. Regardless, he will be the best available QB out there.
  11. Moulds deserves to be on a winning Bills team. But in the NFL you have to go out and earn it which hopefully he and his teammates will do this season. I think Moulds is a good guy and he really likes Buffalo and playing for Buffaol--something that can't be said for all athletes here.
  12. That's why it is so sad we missed the playoffs this year. With a great D (2nd in the league), and the best ST in the league we still managed to miss the playoffs. The offense let this team down.
  13. Go to any other team and see what their best offensive player makes. That is pretty much where he should be paid for a top5-10 WR in the league. A franchise tag for a WR is about that much. Look at an OL specifically LT making 8M/yr. Yes a lot of times it seems ridiculous, but that is where the market is.
  14. I love how having a "down" year is having 88 catches and being one of the top ten WRs in the NFL. I hope he has three or four more "down" years like that! If you actually watch other WR around the league and don't just focus on the Bills you will appreciate Moulds much better. He is the best receiver in the AFC East and makes a great combo with Evans.
  15. Wasn't Freddie a first round pick?
  16. Luckily I was out of town and missed it all! Now I'm back and can't stand it.
  17. They will upgrade, but don't need to do much upgrading there. McNally has done a nice job with them. Bledsoe makes it tough on any line in the NFL. It is just the ways it is--the opposing D knows his lack of mobility and presence makes him quite vulnerable. Remember they said the exact same thing about the Pats OL with Bledsoe and then miraculously with a change of QB they were considered great when the number of sacks given up was reduced by about 75%. Same thing with the RJ being replaced by Flutie--sorry to bring that up.
  18. I'll second that--I also am trapped here in Boston. He rips Buffalo a lot here and then when on WHAM will praise them. Although I think he does have strong "feelings" for Brady.
  19. I hope he is not like Ricky Williams and at least supports the kid if it is really his. RW has fathered a fourth child (or at least the lady is claiming so). 4 different moms, 4 different kids. Deadbeat Ricky who is now broke. It doesn't matter to him being broke and walking barefoot smoking weed, but it would have been nice had he given some money to help raise the kids and took a role in their lives.
  20. Kind of nice for Buffalo to be out of the spotlight in terms of cities people are ragging on! Here in Boston they are constantly putting down Jacksonville--no downtown, not enough hotel rooms, minor league city etc.... Actually were saying more to do and going on in Buffalo! However, I'd rather live in Jacksonville or Buffalo than Boston--work just won't allow for it. Very New England "snob" attitude on the radio here. I like to tell them Boston is like 3-4 blocks of NYC--which is essentially true.
  21. No they don't. Whether or not they even make the playoffs is a good question. This year we had the number one ST, number 2 D, and still missed the playoffs. Brady is the MUCH better QB. Not even close. He makes good quick decisions which is the most important thing a QB can do. He rarely turns the ball over. He excels against the blitz. New England was about to go 0-3 the season Brady took over. All of a sudden they start to win once he replaced Bledsoe. I like Bledsoe and think he is an average QB now in his career. He WAS very good (Ben Coates years)and is a likely Hall of famer. I also think at the time TD made the right trade (options were RJ, J Blake, drafting a QB and none from that class have done anything, or Bledsoe). But right now there is no question who is better and the biggest reason the Pats have won two SBs is Tom Brady. It is not a huge knock on Bledsoe. If you put 25 QBs in the NFL on those teams they probably don't win two SBs.
  22. Pats will have an off year and go 11-5. Hard to believe that is an "off" year. But after two consecutive SB trips )possible wins) and 17-2 seasons an 11-5 record is an off year.
  23. I am very hesitant to pay 7-8M/yr for a LT--even the so called "studs" Remember Schobel has competed very well against these so-called stud lineman (Ogden etc..) The Pats have no "stud" lineman but have only managed to run the ball down teams' throats--including Pittsburgh and the Bills. Both teams with great D-lines. No lineman on that team was higher than a 2nd round pick. Point being I think you can get Olinmean for a reasonable price and not have to break the bank to get one for a 12-15 M signing bonus.
  24. What you wrote sounds very logical and probable. It is also what worries me a bit about JP--I just hope it was a function of his injury and not his work ethic overall.
  25. Yes '07 is uncapped as a result of the last collective bargaining agreement. It is only for one year. There will be a cap in '08, etc but no salary cap in '07.
