I hate to say it but the Bills have a better chance of going 3-13 than 9-7. The Pats will win this one by at least three TDs. The only way the Bills are reasonably close are if they score both a ST TD and a defensive TD. And they still will lose. It really bothers me to say it, but they are toast.

Is Bennie Anderson the worst..
Ray replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He had a bad game yesterday but he did play well at home which you have to remember as well. Willis has run well this season and a lot of that is the line. It is one of the things they do reasonably well--run block. I just wonder how the Pats manage to always take a bunch of mid to late round guys including rookies and insert them into an OL and not miss a beat. -
Haven't quit, but the Bills certainly acted like it yesterday. Bills simply got smoked in every aspect of the game. They were dramatically outplayed by a 1-4 team in a game they could have taken over first place. I think we all will always support the Bills but we also see reality. We saw yesterday a team with many flaws. No way this is a playoff team. If this team competed yesterday that would be one thing, but they weren't even close to the Raiders. Therefore we do not match up against the Pats, Indy, Cinci, Pittsburgh, Denver, KC etc.... If you look at the schedule this team could have a tough time winning another 2 games. That is why it was so important they got off to a good start this year and they are 3-4. Fans are frustrated, not quitters. Last playoff team was 5 years ago---5 years ago. Hard to believe.

Maybe the Bills defense should have gotten the memo that it is their job to stop the offense.

Brady, the best QB in the NFL at home against this defense. I wish I had something to be hopeful about--maybe JP plays and we lose 54-28 but the offense plays well giving us hope for the future.

2nd annual Bills beating in Foxboro
Ray replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They beat the Jags on national TV Sun night for G Williams first win. I guess that was '01 or '02? -
Would have to go back and see who was available at DL or OL. We needed a 3rd WR at that time so I wouldn't criticize that pick.

Brady will shred our 1 on 1 coverage if we do. They were talking with Brady on WEEI last week on the radio and talking about blitzing. He said one game last year (Bills at Pats) the Bills blitzed like 50 times. No problem at all for the Pats to pick up and Brady was saying how he prefers it because he can tell right away who the 1 on 1 matchups are. Flood the passing lanes with 7-8 guys and hope for turnovers. I know that is a pretty bad way to play defense but when you can't generate pressure with 6 guys rushing you've got to try something else. Plus I don't like our matchups with any of our LBs on Ben Watson. This game is going to be painful. I had the chance to go for free to Gillette this weekend and declined b/c I just see a massacre. Sorry for the negativity, but it's a painful week especially living in Boston.

If JP develops at the rate Eli and Carson Palmer did then not too far off. An OL or two and another good DL. Our skill players are very good with the exception of a QB at this point. Our lines are the problem. But another problem is that once you fix one thing then it's another. Watch our secondary suck next year as they are a year older and we lose Clements as our DL improves. We're always a step to slow. A good offense last year takes us to the playoffs. Ahhh, I'm just so frustrated.
-
He's not what is wrong with this team. Since our Dline stinks maybe we should go to a 3-4. Play Sam as the NT, play a defense the Pats are not prepared for--our base D will give up at least 30 points to New England.

The Most Disgusting Run Defense Ever
Ray replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could have paid big Pat an extra 2-3M to have him. As I recall our run defense was pretty darn good last year. Tim Anderson will not be the answer full time. He may be a guy that gives you good situational and fill-in duty. It all starts with the line play. -
Bring Back Marv Levy. . . I'm Dead Serious
Ray replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We could bring back Wade who everybody liked to make fun of (gee he didn't wear a headset), but he is the only coach in Bills history not to have a losing season. He understood the importance of a few things like having a great D-line. -
I want Jerry Gray's head on a pole !
Ray replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do we blitz 45 times a game and get pressure 7-8 times. We should rush three and flood the passing lanes because we don't get pressure anyway. -
At this point Holcomb is plain and simple the better QB. That being said this team is not going anywhere with a dreadful defense. This has to be the worst defense since Gregg W's first year. So much for the best ever. Anyway, let JP get in there and learn and hopefully get better. The more he plays the better he gets and the more experience he gets. The Pats will go at least 8-2 the rest of the way and win the division. If we can't beat the Raiders on the road we sure as hexk aren't beating the Pats. Division title to Pats and no Wild Card for the Bills. Another January at home. If we're lucky they may keep things reasonably interesting into December.

McGee had a couple nice returns--then he got injured. Ooops--here's one, we didn't lose 39-17.
-
It's our job to stop them--that simple.
-
Don't overeact---44-3! 77 points, come on!
-
If they beat both Miami and the Jets that would be great! But did you see the rest of the schedule? Wow, that is tough. Well, just one game at a time.
-
At least with Wade the Bills never had a losing season. Never! His defense seemed to shut down the defending Super Bowl champs yesterday too!

Unfortunately I think it will be Moulds' last year here. A great WR who wanted to play his whole career in Buffalo and likes Buffalo and the people. He still has a couple years on his contract and it is one that is scheduled to pay him over 7M (on the cap). No way they bring him back at that price. Sad thing is that he does make Evans better the same way he made Price better. He is not the Moulds of 3-4 yrs ago but is still a very good WR who is open and not getting the ball. Evans, by the numbers looks to be having a big sophomore slump until you actually watch the games and see that if he had a QB that could get him the ball he would have much better numbers.

He has a fractured thumb I believe so he is playing in a cast.

Play calling and coaching in general.....
Ray replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Willis should be running the ball 30+ times per game now. Like I've said before you can keep a defense off balance with balance in your running game. You have a GREAT back and a very poor QB at this point. After a great run to start the game why do you attempt a flee flicker? Run Wills left, run Willis right, off tackle, sweeps Left and right, screen passes. This gives us the best chance to win. JP is throwing less, the line is playing to their strength and the team is playing to their strength. Then you free JP up for play action. He has good play fakes which Wyche has helped him with. Throwing constantly and having him fail is NOT helpful. Clements has to change his strategy and quick! -
Play calling and coaching in general.....
Ray replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The scary thing now is that you have to wonder when they start to quit! They play like a beaten team! They play like they know they're going to lose. At least a year ago when the Bills were 0-4 you could argue they were 3-4 plays away from being 3-1 or even 4-0. This team is just bad and getting beaten bad. You have no faith in their performance at all. This thing could get completely out of hand with two losses at home to AFC East rivals. Hopefully in two weeks things change and we're singing a different tune. The Bright side---all losses are to NFC teams. We are a game better than last year at this point. We still have many games against the AFC East. -
Last three weeks are like the Todd Collins era!

Bledsoe looks like Joe Montana now. Who would have thought you can do MUCH worse than Bledsoe?
