  1. Sat in same seats at same Bills bar in Henderson, NV while at least one member of my extended family gave up half the game to attend church.
  2. Actually, Freddie should have intentionally iced it by stopping short, if possible. Didn't someone do that two years ago?
  3. Fitz is a young Obi Wan, and Freddie is Samuel L Jackson. Chan, Yoda is. It's all there. JOIN THE REBELLION.
  4. Not many outside this forum think our Bills have a chance tomorrow- but then no one thought a young challenger named Cassius Clay could defeat the most feared fighter of his time- Sonny Liston. In the end, the victor had something to say...<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PylmlSg0BeE?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  5. You know what Lebron said about karma last week...well it sure looked like the Cheatriots* could have used a speed receiver to stretch the field against the Jets. Deion Branch is NOT that guy... the Jets could sit down in coverage because they had few worries about the long ball from Brady. Say what you will about Randy Moss and yes he is a pathetic jerk, but he always showed up in the playoffs. Also obvious was the lack of pressure on Sanchez by NE...Richard Seymour was likewise tossed aside by the All Knowing Genius...yes draft choices are nice, but no one can guarantee those picks will be game changers like these two. What's that about a bird in hand, Billy boy?
  6. Almost called it, sans Merriman- hope we are competitive this Sunday too!
  7. Ok call me crazy but here goes- this week in Toronto (sadly a neutral site for the Bills) we face an average Bears team- not the Ravens or even the Chiefs at home. Buffalo has the edge at quarterback in Fitzy over Cutler. Fitzy played out of his head against B'more, less so against KC, so he us due to bounce back. Bills take a close one, 24-20. Next week- Lions, home cookin' and Merriman- that's right, another win. After that, at Cinci, we are the spoilers in a squeaker. That's right. You heard it here first. A three game winning streak. (Insert bong joke here) Then we get crushed like a pop can by the Steelers.
  8. Common sense razor here: 3) is a distinct possibility as Ralph didn't get to be rich by not caring about money. Assuming Wilson cares about his family too, 3) nets the largest windfall for his descendants, and lets him stay owner until death, after which we can assume he will no longer care. Either way, the "chips" fall into his family's pockets.
  9. What makes me sick and tired of all this conjecture (however well meaning) is the fact that Ralph Wilson at age 91 is still hanging on to the team. If indeed Jimbo has his ducks in a row, why not make an announcement before a sudden decline in health? Ralph has had the team for 50 years, bought it for something like $50,000, and made mega millions even before figuring in the final asking price. All for a team that has been mediocre or less for the huge majority of its existence, largely due to his shortcomings. Wilson won the stinking lottery when he became an AFL owner, and his team has been loyally supported by the best fans in the country, for better or worse, mostly worse. My point is if the guy realized how lucky he is, how badly the franchise needs revitalization, and the idea that it's time to get off the horse, the city of Buffalo would not be twisting in the wind as it is now. How long does Ralph need the ego boost of knowing he is an NFL owner? Clearly his family doesn't care, as they don't want to inherit the Bills. All of this brings me to two possibilities, both of which make me sick to my stomach: Jimbo has the investors in line (as he has been hinting at for years) and Ralph is hanging on out of sheer ego 'til death, or there is no plan in place and the Bills could go anywhere. If the first scenario is feasible, I just wish an ounce of humility would enter this Ralph's psyche and he would let us all move on as he counts his cash. As to the second, it would be a sadly fitting end to a largely dysfunctional ownership.
  10. I would feel good about this strategy if we actually had someone at OBD who is a proven draft expert and had the final say- not Ralph. No evidence of anyone close to that in this organization.
  11. The Bills just couldn't land a real coach. A good coach like Shanahan or Cowher would never dream of associating themselves with such a terrible front office and owner. It's sad but that's life. _____________________________________ Right after we signed Chan, didn't it come out that Marty Schottenheimer admitted he was interested in the job?
  12. I attempt to trade Aaron Maybin today, if there are no takers, I waive him, See Ya! He is not getting any better and he is not even on the field anymore. I am all for patience but at some point you need to dump these guys. Maybin makes big money and he is basically worthless. A VERY BAD SITUATION FOR ANY TEAM. Turn Maybin into a tight end. He has the speed and size. Anybody know if he can catch?
  13. Some recent postings have compared this years' Bills team to the horrible teams of the past, and the year 1985 keeps coming up, largely because that team won only two games. Here is a partial list of starters on the 1985 team: Greg Bell Joe Cribbs Jerry Butler Andre Reed Pete Metzelaars Ken Jones Jim Ritcher Will Grant Joe Devlin Fred Smerlas Bruce Smith Darryl Talley Jim Haslett Charles Romes Steve Freeman Scott Norwood John Kidd If this is the team we're comparing to this year's pathetic squad, then we are in worse trouble than ever. Is there anyone on today's squad you would clearly take over the names on this list except for the P/K? Obviously we had no quarterback in 1985, and the team was waiting for Jim Kelly to arrive. But there clearly was talent. However, the Bills also had one Hank Bullough as coach, who was brought in on the cheap, had never won anything and was clearly in over his head. Sound familiar? If we are fortunate to somehow draft the "right" quarterback in 2011, we still have no team around him, and the coaching staff right now looks every bit BulloughII. Truly, these are dark days my friends.
