  1. Boring and bad and not relating to the fans, media etc.. is a bad combo. Look at TD. Have you seen Jauron? He makes TD look like the most dynamic guy around. Why pick a failure as your coach? I don't get it.
  2. Honestly. Is this someone to get excited about? He is very boring. Hasn't produced a good team in 5+ years. He will be run out of town if they get off to a bad start and has no credibility as a coach if they start out poorly. It will be here we go again--another Jauron team that sucks. I can't believe this, I really can't!
  3. Tell me this isn't true! Jauron????? Talk about a do nothing retread. If this team starts off 0-2 he will be massacred in the media as well as Ralph and Marv. Are they for real????
  4. No reason to hurry before you're sure the decision is correct. Raiders and Bills are the only two open. Sherman doesn't seem to fit in Oakland with Al. He will get the assistants he wants. Sherman, a great list of DCs, April etc.. that would be a very good coaching staff. The best we've had since Marv and Co.
  5. People who wanted the 34 yr old Mangini will be happy he is not here. Mike Sheppard as OC. What did he last in Buffalo--a year? Mangini is a good coach but inexperienced for a HC position. Interesting that of all the HC positions open (9-10 total) nobody even asked to interview Mangini. Let him cut his teeth with the Jets and struggle. Fine with me.
  6. They can have Peyton and Mangini. Both a lot to learn and have not been coaches for that long. Sherman or Haslett are ours. Both have been head coaches
  7. Brady hands down. Best QB in past 20 years. Better than Montana. 3 SBs
  8. His defense really shut down a Seattle offense without Alexander. The Skins were given a gift with him not playing and still lost. GW is a good coach defensively but still overated as a defensive coach.
  9. Promo is absolutely right! You want people who WANT to be in Buffalo. That in itself creates a good winning environment. Not people afraid of the cold (over half the NFL is in the NE and midwest so players need to get over it). This is Haslett's dream job! Nobody else mentioned, other than Cottrell would consider this their dream job. They understand the community, the environment etc... I think the whole aura of the program would change for the better with Haslett. I think he really would do everything possible to make this work at his "dream job." He may not be the best coach out there, but he may very well be the best coach for the Bills.
  10. You mean the Bills are in such disarray now they may actually equal Donahoe's record of about a .400 winning percentage and no playoff trips in 5 years. If he was so good how come the Bills were so bad. I defended the guy for 4 years and in general liked his personnel moves. But he was awful at choosing coaches.
  11. Peter King had three interesting things to say on WEEI here in boston. 1) He spoke with Marv yesterday and Marv is NOT going to be coach. 2) He expects the Bills to go with the best OC out there--possibly Mike Heimerdinger (sp????) of the Jets 3) He spoke with Gregg Williams yesterday (b/c both he and Williams are in Seattle) and they talked about the Bills and GW said it is a tough place to work b/c the phone will ring daily and it is Ralph who wants to know how the team is doing. Kind of sour grapes I think about GW. The guy who dismantled the Bills defense when he came in because he knew better how to do it. Wow, the audacity of an owner to know how his football team is doing. Nice, Gregg. Go fail in Washington too. Make fun of the guy who preceded you like Wade--even though Wade was a better coach.
  12. I loved Mularkey's keen use of the English language. Hey, the guy could not communicate effectively. He lost his team and players for a good part of the season. He is a good guy and deserves the best for his family, but he was just a bad HC decision. He is/was not a good candidate. He did the Bills a favor.
  13. Levy would put together a coaching staff better than any we've had in the past 8 years. He is still a better HC than anyone we've had since he's left. The guy intellectually is better than anyone in the league right now. I don't care if he is 80. If he can do the job, he can do the job. There are other guys I'd be happy with as well. Haslett, Cottrell, maybe Sherman. Maybe even Gray if things were right. A lot depends on the circumstances and how the players react and play. Marv always could push buttons well. People on this board have got to relax. People wanted an outsider as GM and got it in Donahoe--the biggest GM free agent at the time. Well that got us no playoff appearances in 5 years. Marv can't do worse.
  14. Biggest overstatement I've heard in 10 years! What a chump---honestly. How about not making the playoffs in 5 years---the only AFC team not to ! Can't do worse.
  15. Ralph kept MM on THEN hired Marv. So blaming Marv for this is a bit misguided. Consider it your get out jail free card
  16. Bring back Ted. The guy can coach. 3 seasons in Buffalo--ALL with top 10 defenses. What other DC has done that here? None! The Jets 31st ranked defense loooked great without Cottrell huh? If Cottrell was so bad how come they were worse off without him?
  17. How did Evans do getting double teamed lining up with J Reed and Parrish this year? Yeah, I thought so--not too good at all. Evans is a great WR, when he has single coverage. Peerless Price was great once too---when he wasn't the number one receiver.
  18. Interesting since he isn't even on their roster for last year!
  19. I like the guy, class act etc....but the guy's best days are behind him. We need an upgrade at that position.
  20. Plus, I don't think Ralph wants to pay all the extra money for the bail and bonds to get him out of jail.
  21. Bring him back now!!!! He coached a defense this year that had a good defensive year. How was the Jets defense this year without him? Ranked 30th? Getting rid of Cottrell for the Jets really helped them huh?
  22. Pat Williams and Ruben should still be Bills. Oh well, times change and luckily the old Bills philosophy will be back.
  23. JP did much better against similar opponents. Give JP another year and then we'll see. They may both be busts! But JP has competed better against the Panthers---at least that is something positive to go on. He actually played pretty well that day running the no huddle.
  24. Bring in Cottrell. A guy who knows Buffalo and was very good coordinator for us with two top 2 defenses in the league. He is not married to a system and will adapt. Players love the guy and play hard for him. Considering his connection with Marv I think it is likely he could be back.
  25. What, you don't like the 10 yard cushion on 1st and goal from the 2?
