  1. Thanks for that info. I was disapppointed I missed it on Showtime.
  2. Since I've never spent any time studying Holdman I don't know if he's any good. But I do know that many Redskin fans think he's horrible -- especially against the run. Some of them nicknamed him "Highway 57" (his number in Washington) because of the tendency for teams to run right at (some would say over) him. When this topic came up a couple of days ago I happened to glance at a Redskins board and they were overjoyed that he was talking to other teams. Again, for what its worth -- which may be not much.
  3. Bobby Burnett wore 21 and was one of the most promising running backs Buffalo had back then. I think he played from 1966 to 1969 and was the AFL rookie of the year in 1966. I believe a knee injurt cut his career short. He was a star at Arkansas.
  4. Thanks. I didn't realize the Jets had swapped a higher pick they had acquired.
  5. Since I don't have an up-to-date draft point chart, would you check those numbers again? As I understood the Thomas Jones deal, all the Jets gave up was that they swapped second round positions with the Bears. The Bears are drafting 31 and the Jets are drafting 25. I can't believe moving six places in the second round is worth as much as two third round picks, plus a seventh.
  6. A report from an Atlanta television station suggests he was directly involved with killing a dog. Not very funny. http://www.11alive.com/sports/article_spor...x?storyid=92472 ----- An Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle is now tackling legal trouble. Jonathan Babineaux is out of jail on a $2,300 bond. He is charged with animal cruelty. Babineaux was selected as a second round draft choice by the Falcons in 2005. He gained attention by recording 36 tackles in his rookie year. But now, he is getting another type of attention. Gwinnett County Police say he's somehow involved in the death of a dog. Babineaux was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail early Monday morning. Just after midnight Sunday, Gwinnett County police arrested the 25-year-old Babineaux at his home, and accused him of animal cruelty. Police say Babineaux's wife rushed a dog to an animal emergency center less than three miles from their home. Workers at the center said they were not allowed to discuss what happened, but did confirm the dog died. Gwinnett County police are not releasing details -- they only said their investigation lead them to believe Babineoux had a direct hand in the dog's death. Babineaux is charged with one count of felony animal cruelty. According to Georgia law, felony animal cruelty only applies when someone knowingly and maliciously causes death or physical harm to an animal.
  7. Understanding that in the week before the draft everybody is lying about their intentions, is it possible the Bills are spreading the Cutler rumor to prompt another team to move ahead of them and take him? The reason would be that if all three top QBs and Reggie Bush went before Buffalo and San Francisco stayed with the rumored plan to take Vernon Davis, one of these players would be available at No. 8: D'Brickashaw Ferguson AJ Hawk Mario Williams Most people would be thrilled with any of them.

  9. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/foot...i.ap/index.html CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman and perennial All-Pro defensive end Reggie White head a list of 25 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The board of selectors chose them from a list of 112 preliminary nominees, the hall said Thursday. A list of 15 finalists will be announced in mid-January. The class of 2006 will be determined at the selection committee's annual meeting Feb. 4 in Detroit, the day before the Super Bowl. The list of 25 will be reduced by mail ballot to 13 modern-era candidates. The list will increase to 15 finalist nominees with the inclusion of the two recommended candidates of the hall's seniors committee. This year, they are former Oakland Raiders coach John Madden, and former Cowboys tackle Rayfield Wright. Aikman led the Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories and was selected to six straight Pro Bowls. White, who died last December, finished second in career sacks with 198 and was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. White, who spent 15 seasons with Philadelphia, Green Bay and Carolina, was elected to the Pro Bowl a record 13 straight times from 1986-98. Other modern-era semifinalists are linebackers Harry Carson, Randy Gradishar and Derrick Thomas; center Dermontti Dawson; running back Thurman Thomas; wide receivers Michael Irvin, Andre Reed and Art Monk; defensive ends Fred Dean, Richard Dent, L.C. Greenwood and Claude Humphrey; quarterbacks Warren Moon and Ken Stabler; guards Russ Grimm and Bob Kuechenberg; offensive tackle Gary Zimmerman; cornerbacks Lester Hayes and Roger Wehrli; punter Ray Guy; club owners Art Modell and Ralph Wilson, Jr., and administrator George Young.
  10. If you are interested in a nice view, look into the Sheraton Fallsview on the Canadian side of the falls. It's been a couple of years since I was there, but they have a nice restaurant with a separate room. Not sure about prices, however, since it's been a while and the dollar has taken a big hit since I was last there.
  11. Sorry if this has already been posted, but the new Bang cartoon has a section that rips the Bills' O-line (mostly Mike Williams), Bledsoe and Henry. Sad but still funny. http://www.extremeskins.com/modules.php?op...haha&file=index
  12. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, but this line popped up in the NFL.com play-by-play of the end of the Fins-Titans game: 1-10-MIA 36 (:41) A.Feeley pass incomplete to C.Ahanotu. I know things are bad in Miami, but geez...
