  1. Leodis Marcel Aaron top 3 CJ, Stevie, Gilmore regressed Webster Guy improved his posts in all areas: content, sense of humor, sardonic wit and of course his famously insightful observation that we should have picked Nassib over Duke Williams in the 4th, and that Tampa would win a dozen games this year.
  2. Call me crazy but he's got everything that Tavon Austin has plus he's stronger and we got him in the 3rd instead of the 8th overall pick. Give the ball to Goodwin til HE throws up
  3. This flex rotation that Pettine does is really working for our guys, especially for Kyle and Dareus. They can play the 3 tech, 5 tech or even go way outside all on the same series. Two major plays in the game, the Dareus helmet in your ribs and the Kyle strip sack at the Jets 5 they were both schemed plays that set them up singled against a tackle. This seems to be incredibly effective. One thing I've noticed about Pettine is he's not just an attacker, he's always running matchup changes and just when the offensive linemen think they know how to block a guy, it's a different pass rusher coming at them. Having a former NFL Olineman as the head coach and Pettine as the DC, combined with the very talented Dline we have is making for a very fun team to watch.
  4. You always have single coverage on the outside when the ball is snapped. The question is where are the safeties, and they were in a 2 deep zone, which means its NOT single coverage on the long ball. It was double coverage in that corner when he caught that. That's the first "pro level" ball adjustment I've ever seen from TJ. A harder catch than it looked in that wind too. Great play that came at a great time. I felt like the Jets knew they were gonna lose this one after that play.
  5. Exactly. Aaron Williams played some great free safety for us too. I understand holding out to get a big payday, but once you sign you have an obligation to your team and the fans to go balls out. If you fail to do that I don't respect you any more, and neither do a lot of other fans who value player integrity and putting the team first. Maybe someone will extend us a trade offer for a 1st round draft pick.
  6. The teams that give up picks for existing players are almost always teams that feel they're in contention and making a championship run NOW. Let's say that's about a dozen teams in the league. It's already implied that the remaining 20 or so teams not good enough to make a run will listen to any trade offers at any time for any of their players. There is no NFL GM that isn't listening to offers if someone has interest in one of their players. With that in mind, its a given that CJ, Stevie, Byrd and most everyone else on our team is up for trade. The way to get ahead is to take advantage of a team that is desperate to make a run but feels they're missing one piece and will overpay for someone (like the Jets might for Byrd for example) The way to lose on a trade is to try and shop one of your players and show you're desperate to get rid of them, like we did with Marshawn. And then of course you have to do something positive with the pick(s) you get. I disagree that Cleveland got the better of the Richardson trade, it can't be known until we see what they do with the free pick. If its a bust they just traded a good runner for nothing. I think the solution to Stevie is to consider him a bonus type guy- if he's healthy, great, but i'm assuming he won't be and I'm staffing accordingly. If you trade CJ you had better be getting enough for him to get a solid RB elsewhere because FJax isn't gonna be able to hold up for too much longer (sadly) I think the key trade guy is Byrd. We did fine without him and he has real trade value. That's the only Bill I see getting traded.
  7. This team is fun to watch all year until last week at pitt. Our best corner and qb were definitely rusty but if you didnt have fun watching us beat Miami on their home field you aren't my kind of football fan bro. The term "meaningless game" doesn't apply when you have a rookie qb with less than 200 attempted passes in the league. And as far as complaining about the cold, here's a tip: Dress warmly and get out there u pansy, it's good for you.
  8. Namath, Bradshaw, Fouts, Eli Manning, McNabb, Bledsoe, Simms, Elway and Cunningham? By the end of this season EJ Manuel will have better rookie season completion percentage, TD/INT ratio and passing yards per game than EVERY ONE of those guys. EJ guy missed three weeks of training camp and another month of regular season play. His most experienced receiver in the 2nd half of the Pitt game was TJ Graham, a player I believe will be out of football in two years. His coordinator is making him run a no huddle offense and laughably has EJ doing multiple read option handoffs (only they're just plain handoffs, there is no option component there because EJ has been told not to run) Look I'm not saying he's ever going to be the qb we all desperately want him to be, but the kid has less than 200 throws under his belt. He's completed about half of them and thrown less INT's on the season than Eli Manning has in one game this year. Rookies need time. Be patient. You're a Bills fan, losing is something we're already used to anyway. We need a high pick next year with a draft like this year's and we will start rolling teams.
  9. 1. EJ isn't very accurate right now. Maybe he never will be, but we'll know after the season is over. Intangibles, leadership and character are great but if you don't throw with accuracy it's meaningless. 2. Pitt got pressure with 4 yesterday. It wasn't LeBeau trickery. You win everytime if you can bring heat w 4. Our o-line wasn't very stout. 3. I dont know that Rex is a "better" coach than Pettine and neither do you. Our D is not the problem, except maybe for Gilmore being very rusty and playing poorly. 4. Kelso has been pointing out for weeks that our WR's seem confused on routes. Easley in the redzone yest. TJ stepping in front of Chandler last week, Stevie inconsistent his whole career. Marrone needs to oversee Hackett's process and get this fixed in the bye week. He also needs to tell his QB's to STOP UNDERTHROWING THESE LITTLE WR's on the deep balls. Its ridiculous. 5. I think our screen play total this year is up to 12. Averaging 8 yards per play and keeping opponents d-line honest. Build on what Chan taught this team you egomaniacs.
  10. You were the first to mention Robey. Amazing. The guy won us the Miami game with his pick six, and had a 4 point play against KC with that incredible hit in the flat on 3rd and 4 in the red zone. What a gamer. So glad he's 5'7 otherwise there is no way he falls in our lap like that. He's the Darren Sproles of d-backs. Love this kid....
  11. And got kiko with the FREE pick. Thanks Dan Snyder for giving all ur RG3 picks to the Rams and finally giving us a pro bowl LB from the draft. Call me a Bills Homer but I think Goodwin is as good as Tavon Austin who the Rams traded up to grab with our pick at 8. Its very hard to utilize little speed dudes in the NFL. Having 2 of them (tj and goodwin) hurts their chances to develop even more, although Hackett had them both split wide on a handful of plays. I think he liked to send em both deep against cover 2 like KC to take both deep safeties out of the play and simplify the field for our rookie QB's. Has anyone asked Marrone at a presser why Tj over Goodwin?
  12. No. Great coaches hire great staff and delegate properly. Its your OC's call. The head coach has studied far less of the opponents defensive film than the OC. He's also working on special teams, defense etc. Your OC is the guy. He called a good play, it was rushed by a rookie w no experience and he never saw the wide open touchdown.
  13. Goodwin looks like he can win games for us. Everybody keeps underthrowing the poor guy though. Yesterdays TD was all the more impressive considering they were playing a deep cover 2 and Goodwin STILL got behind both his men for a TD (and a perfect pass NICE JOB tuely) TJ's fumble was obviously awful but every WR fumbles from time to time. Its his location/adjustment/ball skills that are lacking. I have said many times I believe TJ will be out of football in a few years because of this.
  14. The sneak and the screen play are two that we should be working on more in practice. High percentage plays.
  15. I dont think we've had stellar qb play from anyone this year and we've beaten a few good teams and competed well against everyone. The Chiefs are gonna lose half of their next 8, todays the day they go down
  16. Our head coach and OC like TJ better obviously but I can't understand why they would burn a fairly high pick on a guy like Goodwin if they aren't going to use him. The NFL has pretty much killed the kickoff return with most kicks being out of the endzone, and we have Leodis returning kicks, so Goodwin's impact is minimal on special teams. Woods and Stevie are locks, and we don't run as many 4 receiver sets as we did last year, so Goodwin pretty much watches the games on the sideline which drives me crazy because I think he's twice the player Graham is. He's AT LEAST just as good, with more upside and better ball skills. TJ is a great kid, teammate, interview etc., but has been a slow learner (his route error cost us a game last year), and although he gets pretty good separation sometimes, if the pass isn't perfect he doesn't have the aggressiveness or timing to adjust properly like a good NFL receiver needs to. I'm sick of this topic because it frustrates me. Another reason I think hiring Hackett was a poorly thought out, homer call. If we could have found an OC on par with the kind guy Pettine is, you would see Goodwin involved and effective most every week (and CJ healthy and used properly the way Chan did it) Drafting and scouting offensive skill talent is great but if you can't use them properly then stick with drafting defense and O linemen.
  17. Kraft and Belicheat should be embarassed at the surrounding cast they've given brady. I hate the guy and i feel sorry for him. Rookie WR Kenbrel thompkins will be out of football within two years he is SO awful. Too bad donald jones wasnt healthy. That catch n run offense they run was tailor made for his style of play.
  18. Should be an all 22 thread every week mods. Kill this 7 week old one
  19. There is no experience quite like playing and getting real reps, but I'm OK with him learning from the sideline. Frankly I'm more worried about Hackett learning the NFL more than EJ. Also Its not a great sign that our young QB has already had both knees injured so early in his first year. Thats concerning but hopefully just a fluke.
  20. You mean he got open and made plays when the opposition knew they had to pass to catch up. Even more impressive. So you're saying Cinci players were told to let the "slow guy get open". Nelson has a PROVEN knack for getting open and making plays in the NFL. He's also a big target with great hands which helps inaccurate qb's greatly. (In case you weren't watching, our qb's aren't accurate very often) Nelson didn't want crazy money, he should have been re-signed. Or maybe Hogan and his ten NFL catches is the better move to help our young QB's.
  21. Definitely. Everyone who cares about the game cringes when players break the rules and start whining about where they play as if the traditions and fundamental rules of the league are below them.
  22. What about returns to get u within field goal range? Or to get you real game experience and film on your blocking and return execution? 3% of all pass plays are intercepted, does that mean we should run all the time?
  23. Agreed. Gumbel and dierdorf dumb it down to nothing. Far better going to the radio for sound and analysis and keep the tv muted.
  24. A "little" more fun to watch the defense? Yeah ok.
