I want answers on phantom call on Williams
Webster Guy replied to tedstrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No you dont. The calls are based on what the officials see in that split second not the win loss record of each team. New England has had some horrible calls cost them games this year and so did Atlanta and Carolina early in the year. -
get EJ what he needs to succeed in 2014

Invent time machine. Draft AJ Green instead of Dareus. Manuel gets to pro bowl just like Dalton. -
Bucs losing to Bills would be big blow?

i know its like a high school drama major wrote it -
It's existed just fine for the last 4 plus decades without the toronto game. your logic is flawed.

20k tickets left for the home finale
Webster Guy replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But wait, according to Russ Brandon "We’ve had great growth in the Southern Ontario marketplace over the last five years back here at Ralph Wilson Stadium." Where are all the Canandian ticket buyers now Russ? We sold out the Miami game 6 years ago before the Toronto mistake, how are we doing now with all the people that became magically aware and interested in the Bills because they played once a year in a lame setting with overpriced tickets? Hilarious. Yeah OK Russ, that whopping 38k tickets sales for the Toronto game really shows your efforts. You did it because Ralph picked up $80M for the deal (minus the lost revenues from hosting the home games). Don't try to make it sound like you made more Canadians want to come and see Bills games because you won ONE game in 5 years in Toronto you schmuck. Who do you think you're fooling? Sorry but he reminds me so much of Tom Donahoe. Arrogant, spinning so much BS they start to believe it themselves. -
The NFL changes rules all the time. I love how everyone acts like they can see the future and that the league won't allow that again. Did you all think the same about gay marriage and legalization of marijuana? My take is that things that make sense ultimately will come to fruition. It's the timetable that's unknown. Does anybody know what the downside of having shareholders and a board of directors is in the case of Green Bay? because the vast majority of billion dollar corporations in the USA are structured that way. Just remember this is a league that still uses CHAINS bolted around STICKS to measure ten yards out on the field. They actually have guys run out there and measure. A laser system shot from the sidelines is easier, more accurate and instantaneous. But the NFL still uses chains. They wont always use chains, I guarantee it.

AaaaHaHa now there's one of my favorite quote's ever from a Mod. Lemme take this one BB: Dear Nuklz (OP): I read with great interest your post today entitled "it ain't rocket surgery", and it is with a heavy heart that I find myself agreeing with your sentiment that by being emotionally vested in a losing team, there is indeed a silver lining that most folks might not see. When a team loses over and over again, it eventually makes us feel good about our own lives, like donating money at the Wegmans checkout line to give free dinners to people that I'll never meet and probably have more money than I do. This phenomena, which I'll call the "Nuklz Factor" is probably responsible for us being such loyal Bills fans despite our lack of winning anything of significance in decades. Deep down it makes us feel good about OURSELVES, and by golly, that's what it's all about. This might explain why Boston sports fans are always so miserable despite having perennially relevant baseball and football seasons. Its the winning that gets people feeling like losers, not the losing. Consider me enlightened, and in some small way a better person on the inside. Happy Holidays my beloved rocket surgeon....... Sincerely, The New and (Now Improved thanks to you) Webster Guy

Its a proven fact that NE has cheated in the past so that works against them. They received (and continue to receive) the brunt of jokes and signs and accusations that they had to cheat to win, on top of an NFL imposed penalty for doing so. They got a black eye for doing it and I doubt very seriously they would risk enduring another scandal. Seems to me that if they did it again, if they picked up defensive signals and were using them to communicate plays to their team during the game based on those signals, then they are setting themselves up for a MAJOR punishment by the league. In a playoff game against a winning opponent I wouldn't put it past them (although surprisingly a lot of people here are convinced they're innocent), but in a non-divisional game against a mediocre team it seems unlikely. Either way I can't wait for the Pats to get crushed in their first playoff game and go back to baseball town. I loathe them all.

Dont blame the offense. 31 points should be enough to win any game. We're still a year out from being playoff worthy anyway, so a loss means better draft spot. This was the first game we've played at full strength w regard to injuries. Man coverage on their talented receivers was rough, and we got gouged by a few big runs from big Steven Jackson. Byrd and Gilmore looked slow and outmatched. Robey grabbing the collar and pulling down their receiver was not smart. Finally someone overthrew Goodwin. Branch was a force. V impressed. EJ did enough to win the game, that was good to see. Exciting close game, the Bills/Pitt game was our only bad game of the season despite heavy injuries and inexperienced qb's. I'm convinced we will take 2 offensive linemen in the first three picks in March. LG and RT. Im not as bummed as everyone else. We have a fun team and the rest of the games will be entertaining.

If the Falcons game were being played at RWS...
Webster Guy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt it would have been close, like the KC game. It likely would have been sold out by gametime but maybe not by the deadline, as the weather today is pretty nice for a game in Orchard Park. -
Yeah but they got two franchise qb's back to back which is damn near impossible these days. Green Bay is the only other team I can think of that has managed that in the last decade with Favre and Rogers. Lucky bastards.

Kyle Williams questionable?
Webster Guy replied to HamSandwhich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
easily treatable. Kyle is gonna be full go. -
Is Byrd Replaceable?
Webster Guy replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would rather have Levitre than Byrd, and I think the coaches and EJ, CJ and Freddy would all agree at this point. Aaron Williams did a fine job of replacing Byrd, while Brown and Legursky have been steamrolled all season on our rookie qb's blindside. Marrone was telling CJ to yell at his Oline for not blocking, I say yell at your front office for letting our best O lineman walk to save money. Fools. But now that one of them is gone, it makes sense to keep the other. We have the $$, he's a good FS, lets not be idiots AGAIN and lose more talent. -
New overtime rules are awful. Great article attached
Webster Guy replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The number is 60%. I just saw a study from 8 nfl seasons and if you lose the coin toss you have only a 40% chance of winning. It was from 124 OT games. Most people, including me, feel that flipping a coin shouldn't play such a big role in a football game. You and Tucker think it should. I'd rather put the result on skill and playing the game instead of how a referee flips a coin. -
The Jets Message board is hilarious right now
Webster Guy replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or in Rich Gannon's case, his 11th year was the first pro bowl he made after being shuffled around on four different teams. -
We are the best NFL fanbase!!!
Webster Guy replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except for next weekend. Canada doesn't allow open containers anywhere (even on your own boat for gods sake) The tailgating is lame, the tickets are overpriced and the dome atmosphere isn't real football. Sorry but I'm not THAT loyal, I'll take to the couch and big screen and my lucky Bills blanket. -
The Jets Message board is hilarious right now
Webster Guy replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jets board is always hilarious. Tied with Philly for the worst, most negative, fire-everybody-cuz-we-suck fans of all time. The typical mentality of northeast coast sports fans is the exact opposite of how I think genuine fans should be. I still can't belive a player would willingly play for a team like NY or Philly. And you thought WE hated on Jason Peters or Maybin, you should've seen what their fans had to say..... -
John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills
Webster Guy replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, and the thing is he doesn't even need to sell it now, he could just hammer out a fair deal with the Kelly group that becomes in effect when he dies. I still don't understand why the public ownership structure like green bay has isn't allowed anymore. They're a winning organization with a loyal fan base like Buff, and are controlled by a board of directors that will always keep the franchise in Green Bay. Ralph is so lame. -
I wonder if any other team in the league plays 3 teams after their bye week and another after a thursday night game w 9 days to prep. I also wonder why Brandon continues to defend "regionalizing" the Bills when players, coaches, and fans all unanimously agree that playing in Toronto is a joke and hurts the teams chances to win. I have friends who are Canadian that own season tickets and skip the Toronto game because the atmosphere is so lame. (No noise, seating is way too far from the field, you can't have a drink while tailgating etc) What a crappy thing to do to your team Russ and Ralph. I hope you had fun cashing the Rogers check because we're all paying for it now.

I hate to say it but Sheldon Richardson and Mohammed Wilkerson Defensive linemen for the Jets are as good as our own Kyle and Dareus. They do the same thing, collapse pockets, bring pressure and stuff the run. We couldn't move those guys an inch last Sunday and they both have serious power moves to get to the QB. I'm afraid we're going to have to deal with those two for a long time. Re-watching that game, it was amazing that EJ completed the passes that he did. Even the long one to Goodwin, watch how fast they collapsed the pocket and put Eric Wood n Company on their heels. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_8hOueRaARM/Uokki-pq2NI/AAAAAAAADpk/9FghDkRGo1E/s400/mgood22.gif My guess is neither one of our guys or theirs will make the pro bowl, although they all should.

Dan Dierdorf to Retire from CBS after the Season
Webster Guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha that must be why he annoys me -
You would think Luke Keuchly would have learned his lesson after he gave us the Carolina game with pass interference on Stevie Johnson. If you remember, EJ missed on that last throw to Stevie at the goal line on 4th down but Keuchly was flagged for interference on what looked to be an underthrown, uncatchable ball. Instead of game over, we get a first and goal and win the game. Last night he did the exact same thing on the final play of the game to Gronkowski. If you didn't see it, it was blatant pass interference in the endzone with no time left on the clock and the ref threw the flag as he should have. I have no idea what Keuchly was thinking, I can only presume he figured they wouldn't call the penalty on the last play of the game. Everybody in the world including the refs knew Brady was going to Gronk, and Luke didn't care that he was being watched, he mauled him anyway. Worse than the Stevie call. But the refs conferred and they picked up the flag. Panthers win! The refs official statement: " it was determined at that point in time that when the primary contact occurred on the tight end that the ball, in essence, was coming in underthrown and in essence it was immediate at that point intercepted at the front end of the end zone. So there was a determination that, in essence, uncatchability, that the ball was intercepted at or about the same time the primary contact against the receiver occurred. " This is an officiating nightmare that seems like it would happen to us, not the Patsies. No different from the Stevie play in my opinion. The interception is meaningless here, they claim it was uncatchable. So you can maul a receiver legally if the ball is in the air and they determine it isn't catchable. Go watch the Bills Carolina game it was the same throw but we got the win and NE got the L. Maybe the tide is turning. Beautiful baby. Couldn't happen to a better team.
