I think Sully loves the Bills and wants them to do well. He's just cynical and sick of covering the same old story year after year. Schopp is the same way. These guys are tired of their jobs and talking about the same stuff for so long, and never getting a playoff shot. Jerry isn't my kind of guy, I'm an optimist and I don't hangout with or read stuff by the negative doom and gloom people. I prefer reading posters on this site vs guys like Jerry.

Come to think of it I DID have a bobby pin in my hair that my daughter snuck in there at a wedding on saturday night and I didnt notice it until the 4pm games started. Dudes wearin bobby pins--thats gotta be it. Hey what the hell, I'll stick with it til we lose.

Steve Smith Trash Talks Andre Reed on WoF Day
Webster Guy replied to circlethewagons87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He got schooled by Leodis and wasnt feeling up to his usual upbeat, articulate, good sportsmanship showin, humble self out there. -
Like Big Cat says there has to be something more going on because as outsiders it seems like an obvious no brainer to start working Easley in on TJ's reps. Or even Hogan if there is a confidence issue with Easley. That Keuchly INT was a good example of how little speedsters can be such a liability out there. When your rookie qb is staring you down like EJ did on that one (yikes), you MUST come back to the ball instead of standing there waiting for it like TJ did. If Carolina wasn't so geeked on trying to hit the long balls to Ginn yesterday and focused on passing to their TE and Smith more we probably lose that game. I'll take the possession bigger guys that use their body to shield the defender and make the play. I think TJ has blackmail pictures of Ralph naked or something (sorry for the visual)

Mario deserves praise for his game
Webster Guy replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I re watched the game and noticed something else about Mario I had never picked up on before. He almost never rushes too far upfield and takes himself out of the play, leaving a hole behind him like a lot of pass rushers do. Mario takes a hard angle INTO the pocket almost every time, and in some cases he sniffed out the play so early that he simply stayed right on the line, hands up and maintaining his gap. One such play occurred on a 3 and 2 on our own ten yard line in the 3rd quarter. I believe this was a game saving play that most DE's just wouldn't have been able to pull off. Cam drops back to pass and Mario senses he's going to roll out and run so he stays on the line and slides over as Cam does. He forces the QB to have to run around him along the sidelines and in the process Cam steps out of bounds. If Mario had been upfield trying to get a sack instead of playing it the way he did, Cam walks in the endzone and we lose that game. Veteran unselfish play by the big fella. Very impressive. -
Moats strength has always been that he can take on blockers. Whether it's an OT, TE or RB trying to stop him, he's got a knack for winning his individual battle. We ask our LB's to do 3 things Cover, Play the Run, Rush the Passer. Arthur is very good at the last two. There aren't many LB's that are great in cover men in this league. Bradham is definitely a step ahead of Moats in coverage, but Pettine is using him the right way and it shows.

Yeah he was always a killer hitter in college. Playing safety is such a natural place for the kid. He is getting tremendous experience right now with Byrd out.

Mike Pettine Appreciation Thread
Webster Guy replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaron took a few bad angles today for sure. That TD pass to Ginn does not happen with Jairus out there, Aaron was playing the ball and never looked at Ginn, then by the time he realized what was up the play was too far behind him to be a factor. The good news is Aaron has the physical skills and just needs experience, and we got the win today baby. The more film he gets on himself and the more reps he gets, the better he'll be. I'm starting to think Byrd is an unnecessary distraction here. -
Marrone's locker room post-game speech.
Webster Guy replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me too Captain. -
Whaley is always looking for ways to improve the team, and no fullbacks job ever seems safe in the NFL, but Summers had a great camp. I guarantee Marrone and Hackett are in his face first thing tuesday morning. Clean up your game, use your head, refine your technique or we find someone else who will. What happened to Corey Mcintyre? Great special teamer and blocker no?

Mario deserves praise for his game
Webster Guy replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was exploding into the Olinemen, like literally winding up and then unCoiling his upper body into the blockers and it was like they were stunned for a second or two. they always say great pass rushers win in hand control, body lean (leverage) and pursuit to the whistle. He owned those chumps today. And Lawson is like MarioLite out there. He crushed Cam on that sack. Both amazing physical specimens and relentless warriors today...... -
wait are you saying you're one of the 2 or 3 that have a clue? Hmmmmm you sound like my mother in law. pay attention son, if you think there are only a handful of posters here that have a clue then you're the idiot.

Robert Woods= One tough mutha
Webster Guy replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We may have grabbed the best QB and the best receiver in the draft last year. Four WR's picked ahead of Woods, (Tavon Austin, deAndre Hopkins, Patterson and Justin Hunter) Woods is so smooth already--hands (that 2 point conversion catch was sweet), route running, separation, and today he showed that he's got the Fred Jackson I-am-an-nfl-baller gene with his blocking and attitude out there. He hit that D-back headfirst and put the guy out of the game. Love watching the rise of great players like this kid. -
Thought he was more of a finesse guy but Robert Woods showed who he really was today. This guy is gonna be special. He and EJ #1 and #2 picks might end up being a famous draft for Bills nation.

The best weapon against an overly aggressive front 4 is the screen play. Let them get by your O-line without making it too obvious that you're letting them by you, and sneak your RB in behind them. It keeps defenses honest, takes advantage of athletic quarterbacks, and most importantly gets CJ Spiller in space. I don't care how good Keuchly is, if its just him and CJ in the open field he's gonna get a handful of air. Say what you want about Chan Gailey but he was the master at it. Hackett needs to pay more attention to how it was run last year, we have a lot of the same guys still on the offense. Screens are tricky to do the right way, it takes a solid effort from every man on the field, but they are incredibly effective and I hope to see more of them in the games ahead. Overall i thought Hackett called a poor game in the opener and hope he redeems himself on Sunday. We need this win and we aren't gonna get it with 14 points

Rivalry of the Future: EJ & Geno
Webster Guy replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wasn't anything Belichick did, Geno simply threw horrible passes all night. I feel sorry for the kid, being in NY and only having to score 14 point to beat the Patriots and he laid an egg in front of the country. Get ready for the media storm to begin Geno. He probably cringed when the Jets picked him, knowing what a nightmare the Jersey/NYC fans can be. It's like they're not happy unless they're mad about something. -
Woods is going to be a stud. That move on Aliq Islam whatever his name is in the NE game to get open for the TD was major league. Against a cover 2 like last week I would take Stevie but if not you have to remember Woods will be in single coverage a lot, with the FS shading to Stevie's side. I see this as the Moulds/Peerless type of situation. Woods even reminds me of Peerless. Have some guts and take Woods this week. He almost scored as many as Stevie last week, and that was his first game. Plus you know Stevie and his injury history, it's only a matter of time.

especially given the fact that colin brown is a massive 6 foot 7 inch 330 pound dude with long arms. i know WIlfork is probably the hardest guy in the NFL to move, but he went up against other guys as well and got handled. Nix used to talk about how the 6 foot 1, 310 lb guards can sometimes get more leverage and be far more effective than the longer bigger heavier bodies.

The best way to do cleveland is to go on hotwire in the morning and you can get a screaming deal on a hotel for the night. they don't tell you the exact name of the hotel, but they give you the general area, in this case you would choose downtown cleveland. click on a four star hotel and you can probably get one for half price. downtown cleveland isnt that big, and you can walk to most of the hotels easily. don't forget to get a buzz on and go see the rock and roll hall of fame when you're there. it's awesome. wear your bills stuff because you'll be proud that we spanked Weeden and Co. the night before.

What if the Bills game is blacked out?
Webster Guy replied to apikefish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is an easy way to get blacked out Bills games in real time if you have direct tv. I live in Rochester and get every blacked out Bills game. And I don't mean red zone, I mean the actual game. -
MIA - TJ Graham - Track star with no separation
Webster Guy replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Okay I watched that throw to TJ that Manuel missed on. He did have a little separation, not wide open but decent job. Better than I thought. He really did have a great camp (although so did Easley) As much as I think he's a wasted roster spot, especially since we burned a THIRD round pick on Goodwin, I'll give the kid a chance I guess. The good news is the film doesn't lie, and Marrone inherited TJ, so he's either doing his job on the field or he isn't and he'll be replaced. -
Panthers fan analysis here
Webster Guy replied to Happy Panther's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will be an interesting game for sure. Our front seven has three new faces this year in hughes, lawson and kiko and I liked what I saw from all of them against NE. Both teams have athletic smart fast black dudes at QB that can sling it or tuck it and run if you dont leave a spy home to cover them. I think you'll see a lot of throwing on both sides of the ball. The way you beat a stout front seven is to bring on 4 wideouts and force the LB's to cover the back or TE. Air it out baby ! The funny thing is if Luck had opted to go pro his junior year, he'd be a panther and Cam would likely be a Bill. -
MIA - TJ Graham - Track star with no separation
Webster Guy replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody has mentioned the difference between TJ and Easley and their downfield blocking either. The biggest disappointments for me on opening day were Hackett's weak game calling and TJ's performance. He's a great kid, hard worker, team player etc. but there are VERY few of these one dimensional little speed guys that make a difference in this league. I predicted Goodwin to take over the TJ spot after a month. With his injury they'll probably start putting in Easley here and there. Side note: did anyone notice how Easley is a man among boys on the special teams kick coverage? Nice job Damien E !!! -
Pressure on Brady was solid and obvious if you watched the game. Pettine had his boys ready and the only two TD's they got were gifts from turnovers deep in our turf. No TD's in the second half. Dareus even got a face punch in on Brady with no call which I thought was pretty cool. Expect more of the same V carolina sunday, their o line is weaker. Look for Hughes and Mario to have big games.

Manuel's first TD pass was his call
Webster Guy replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think an OC's job should be to let his QB call as many plays as possible. Its definitely a help to have your coordinator up in the booth for an overhead view, but micromanaging the QB makes no sense if they show a knack for play calling. Great job EJ. That was a lot to handle for a rookie in his first game. No sacks no picks and great poise out there.
